What matters is the data contained in the other empirical observations that were made. Forcing (0,0) to be in the data distorts real data that was observed.

Why did they force the graph to go through zero?

The relationship they plotted suggested a negative y-intercept. Perhaps longer missions require more food per day!

Anyway, the data they had showed a different best-fit line. If the extrapolation is far from the data used to create the model, this could yield a very large error in the prediction... and too little food for the mission!

Graphs for just about anything eh? Does NASA have a graph for how many times a day their male astronauts jack off or have sex? They need to know that for long term missions, either for a place to store the cum, or a method of cleaning up in case it goes all over the inside of the shuttle.

Why do you people in charge of this whole NASA youtube channel keep putting up elementary videos? Let's see some higher educational videos. All the videos are directed towards children. All the questions that get asked to the astronauts are usually from kids in school. That's cool and exciting but what about the educated adults who actually pay for NASA in the first place. Why not show us some in-depth videos on experiments being done aboard the ISS?

I totally agree. I am a math teacher and can use the educational videos in class but how about some more advance videos for the more educated crowd? How about some videos on orbital trajectories? Or computational algorithms for solving the Relativistic Electromagnetic Field Equations? Or a video that explains how they turn urine into drinking water on the ISS? Seriously on the last one. It is strange that this video is thorough enough to teach kids the rather abstract term: "dependant variable".

Yet also incorrectly teaches kids that the X axis must always be on the bottom, and the Y axis must always be on the left.

Kids will learn otherwise as soon as they learn the Cartesian coordinate system (ie: howto graph functions) in early highschool maths.
