Reply to Sonderbarr- As WWI approached, Belgium clearly declared its neutrality. As such, Germany's invasion of Belgium, as part of its plan to expedite the invasion of France, was blatant aggression. German occupation of Belgium from 1914 to 1918 included many atrocities & other heinous acts that have been documented by many historians. Reply to samnjoe97 - I forgot that East Prussia was a province, not a state. That is why I didn't mention the areas from several other provinces that went to Poland after the war. As we know, regions of those provinces east of the Oder- Neisse Line went to Poland after the war. In 1914 Germany launched a war of aggression that became the most destructive war in human history, up to that point. Then only 25 years later Germany was on the march of conquest again. My father's family lived in East Prussia for centuries. Some of them lived in Tilsit through WWII. Some were killed in E.P. as the war was ending. Nazi Germany wreaked more destruction upon the world than any other nation in human history. As such, the Allies would have been fully justified if they had partitioned all of Germany, with the parts going to the surrounding nations. Germany was very fortunate that East Prussia was the only state that went to any Allied nations.
