  • what do u feed a catfish when they get big?

  • @dominata808 hi,my r/t catfish feeds very well,i do find that he loves garden worms and small fish(if you can find them)you can feed prawns, hope this helps !!

  • Some pet stores call them upside down cats. They are a type of synodontis catfish, just upside down catfish is an easier name to remember, so pet stores use it more often.

  • not upside down cats

  • these r definatley featherfin synodontis, not upside down catfish, i know coz ive got both in my tank.

  • i love your oscars !!!!!!!!

  • To any dimwit who said they weren't upside down catfish they are. I have one that looks exactly the same just a bit larger and fatter. I also have a catfish like ur redtail there except he is very old 10 I think and he is not red tailed

  • @BrittanyPeckCanada -- Sorry but these are "Synodontis eupterus" - AKA Featherfin Squeakers. They are cousins of the "Synodontis nigriventris" AKA upside down catfish. They look alike but are quite different in size and behavior --- Be sure you have your ducks in a row before you start calling people dimwits. --- Try Google on both to see the difference. I've seen petshops mislabel them since they do look so similar and maybe they sold you a featherfin and called it upside down...

  • these are not upsidedown catfish thats a red tail and a fantail

  • Awww a redtailed catfish! :D at the pet store i work at they had one..but he was bigger than me O_O but it was fun to feed!

  • Lol 00:15 to 00:22 give me yo money fool

  • Those aren't upside down cats

  • Those are feather fin cats

  • i can't believe your oscars haven't killed everything

  • i have two, about 15 cm...

  • arnt they saposed to be upside down

  • dude , I would not even house ONE red tail cat in a tank that big , let alone all the other fish ...its a disaster waiting to happen

  • @pete3867 agree with what your saying dude, this was taken well over a year ago, since then the rt has been moved as hes about 2 1/2 ft long, the others are all well, liveing in a show take in london, this was just a hold tank,

  • @addsthetwin

thankyou for your reply , and sorry I jumped to a conclusion ....they are lovely fish if I had a tank big enough I would have some with my smaller syno nigriventus... in some books eupterus are listed as upside down cats , and really I think its a sort of umbrella term for both species , as like you say they do swim upside down , mine look like a smaller version of those ... how big do they get?

  • @pete3867 hi,the two cats i think are a breeding pair, they would grow to about 8/10 "at the mo they are moveing the bottom about alot,so hopefuly soon they might breed,if not there just messing the tank up , lol..good luke with yours, its a great hobby to have..

  • I have two upside down cats ... and they look nothing like those ..as someone said they are sino eupterus ... I think the real ones are called synodontis nigriventus....nice fish though , and they look very happy

  • those are nawt upside down catfish african featherfin catfish..

  • how big is your tank? you have wayyyyyy to many fish in there...

    2 oscars

    2 upside down cats

    1 LARGE cat...

    and more!!!!!

it is recommended that you have 1 oscar per 25 gallons becaus e they are so messy and destructive...

  • thats a _lot_ of fish for that tank.

  • hi,its hard to say if any thing is wrong,if the fish is swimming and eating ok,then it might be ok,i do know that some fish mostly cold water fish suffer from Swim Bladder Disease, but im pritty sure your fish has not got this, maybe worth feeding abit less, like once aweek,if she is pregnent good luck, let me know how you get along !!!!!!!

  • i got the same one,but its stomach is really big,is it infected or pregnant

  • nice catfish, my dad has 4 of them but they always hid in the back. One is big and I try to make a video but hes to far in the back.

Is a 46 gallon big enough to but a red tailed catfish in?

  • Show de aquário!!

    Parabéns!!

  • red tailed catfish pwns

  • That white, driftwood looking substrate is shaped like some sort of monster!

  • i think those are synodontis eupterus

  • yeah! I've got one too, he looks exactly the same as the fish with the round "nose"

mine is really big, 15 centimetres or something. I suppose that's normal...(I only got small fish around him, like tetra's and guppy's and so on)

ps. mine swims upside down almost all the time, he really deserves his name, hehe!

  • hahahaha awsome u have the same fish i have 2 Oscar fish my black on is huge an the little roange guy he goes after anything to eat in the tank xD

  • Yup - they're synodontis eupterus - the featherfin catfish. They are mislabelled as juveniles as they look similar to the synodontis nigriventis and swim in a similar fashion.

I have a featherfin syno myself - they're known for being far more aggressive than upside down catfish. But as you say, your redtail keeps them in check.

  • how big do they get

  • to be honest, I think those are the featherfinned catfish (sometimes labeled as upside down catfish)...petsmart sells them.

  • @cutietwo22 they are

  • @cutietwo22 - Correct - They are featherfin squeakers /catfish indeed, NOT upside down cats.

  • i got a 90 gallon tank is that good for a rtc?

  • it will be a good size too start with but will grow to a large size within 1-2 years if fed right , good luck with your rtc ,they are great to keep !!!

  • plz bear in mind that the rtc grow very big and will out grow a 48" tank within a year(like mine !!)hes now in a show tank in london somewhere..

  • hey im gonna get a rtc what size tank should i get?

  • How long did you have the Upside Down Catfish because i had one for like 6 years and it never got larger than like 2 and a half inches. I just figured something was wrong with it. And your Bala Sharks are peaceful. Mine was always so skidish and large that it would get scared and hurt itself on things

  • The Synodontis that is usually sold as an "Upside-down Catfish" is Synodontis nigriventris, which only grow to around 3". The Synodnotis in this video don't look like nigriventris. Your fish were fine.

  • Nice Red Tail

  • Nice Syndontis catfish

  • What size tank do you have? You atleast need a 300 Gal. for a RedTailCatfish.

  • If you keep the red-tail casyfish then everyone else has to mave out

  • if your thinking about keeping redtail catfish you need to get rid of everyone else.

  • Won't the Oscars eat the catfish?

  • they may but the spikes (on side and top fins) can hurt or kill them in some cases.

  • yeah these arnt upsidedowns. they are featherfins.

  • first they are not upside down catfish they are featherfin syno`s

second they are male and female

third they go upside down to swim by the other fish to try and intimidate them.

hope that dint sound too snotty sorry if it did LOL :D :)

  • yeah there right this is no upside down catfish its a featherfin catfish you picked up the wrong ones and they can get 9 inches instead of 4 inches

  • these are no upside down catfish i seen 1 of these last week in the store and it was a type of synodontis,i was going to get it but had already purchased my 2 clown knifefish( which ive found out to be abino reticulated knifefish) and my tiger shovelnose

  • thats not an upside down catfish. it's a synodontis eurptrous they are similar but grow much larger.

  • if there not upside catfish, why do they swim upside down..lol..lol..

  • I have two of them. One about 5 inches and the other is about an inch long. My older one will sometimes rest in the upside down postion but it's straight upside down. He swims also on his back. They are neat too watch.

  • ty,time for the upside down catfish to go,as the redtail is growing fast !!!,they are up for sale on ebay..they need to go to a good home..

  • very nice bala shark i have to say...and magma oscar (its what i call them) i have 2 small catfish 1 goldfish 1 peacock eal and 1 tigerfish im about to get a bala shark but yea ^^

  • if your thinking about getting these great fish, the upside down catfish(BILL N BEN) are very bizzy and will use all of the tank, all the fish in this tank get on at the mo,but when the red tail(CLIVE)gets bigger he will be moved...
