  • I thought it was amazing. :) Does anyone know his original song he sang at the end? It really touched me. ♥

  • It was What's Right Is Right. It's on his new CD The Distance.

  • Thanks you so much. I just saw the show a few days ago and thought it was AMAZING. ;)

  • *sigh*

  • I saw him. He was great.

  • Taylor started his new tour with Grease tonight! Good luck TH and cast...

  • So glad you and others got this. It was sad to see it come to an end. Tks

  • There are new vids on this here .

  • I love his singing but the video was poorly done. It would have been a lot better if it was closer up. Couldn't even tell it was really Taylor, but his voice his very recognizable.

  • Cameras and recording are banned in the theatre. This video was taken on the downlow, and explains the quality.

  • My friend told me that because I wanted to take pics. :/ But she advised me no to.

  • Love watching him. This is what America is about....

  • Taylor Hicks killed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is so cool.

  • What does BSD stand for?

  • Beauty School Dropout

  • I SAW THIS YESTERDAY! LOVED IT!

  • Thankz a Milliooooooooooooooooooooon 4 posting this=]

  • Taylor is soooo talented....He has so many facets to his personality and talents...I love this for him....I know the sky is the limit for Taylor no matter what he wants to do......True fans are thrilled..and will support you in whaterver you decide to do next..We totally enjoy you Taylor Hicks...Let It All Out.....You have so much more to experience...have fun..do what you want to do.....we are here...

  • i love taylor. but hes not staying true to the teen angel role. playing the harmonica? common

  • Since he is pulling in more fans since he started, and reports are that the audience goes crazy when he plays the harp on the curtain call...I would say the producer made the right call. Stephen Buntrock did the part differently too. This is not the movie. For instance, the original stage play had a brunette Sandy.

  • Press out today in NY POST, that Taylor has revitalized Grease and is selling out the place. It said he is responsible for an addt'l $150,000 a week in ticket sales. Just like the AI tour!

  • absolutely awesome,,,wish you had a better view,,,,can't see him for all the lights,,but he sounds great!!!!!!!!

  • taylors voice was outstanding and I think he is enjoying this very much. He was nervouse that first night, by all reports he has more fun every night.

  • i give him major props for dooing this. yes he sounds a little disinterested but he's probably nervous he's not used to acting or being on broadway. good job though taylor

  • Taylor was trying to remember the words, plus stage action, and I think he did great for a debut.

  • taylor is a very good singer, but this isnt his song...or his part, he didnt even sound like he enjoyed doing it, people may personally like him better because he famous but the old teen angel was better

  • Actually, his portrayal is more in keeping with the times of the 50's. Frankie Avalon was in the movie and set the tone, but even someone like Al Jarreau has done it. Stephen Buntrock was superb, but they all had to put their stamp on it. I was skeptical of Taylors taking this part at first......but like it now.

  • WooHoo!Wish I could have been there. But I'm glad all the Soul Patrollers were there to support him. Way to go Taylor!

  • Oops I mean can't see his face.

  • Grease must be my least favourite musical in the whole world - but I would swim the Atlantic to see this...

  • Wow I really need to get to New York this summer somehow! I love Taylor because no matter what he does he puts in 110% effort and it definitely shows! SOUL PATROL!

  • I really prefer this version to the one on Regis and Kelly today. It was really rushed and condensed. It wasn't that great, honestly.

    But this version is awesome.

I guess it's Broadway compared to a little TV spot.

  • They needed to shorten it on R & K so they could get in the interview as well!! I missed the "falsetto" there but it was still great!

  • I wish I could see it :(

  • eh.. having seen grease on broadway back in january, i definitely prefer Stephen Buntrock as the teen angel. taylor hicks is good, but nowhere near as good.

  • Taylor has a different vibe than the others for sure and that is probably why they chose him. I have seen Stephens role and he is really good, but the producer obviously wanted to freshen it up. Then there is the AI connection.

  • Well you really can see Taylor's facial expressions on this. And it was opening night. Word is he is already improving and this is really good.

  • Taylor 10 stories high on Broadway is the best!

  • Glad they put him in a darker suit. With the gray hair he would have disappeared wearing white in this video.

  • Taylor sounds good!

  • This performance makes me smile. How fun! And his vocals are spot on.

  • I don't hear even a hint of nerves. There is audio of a Sunday performance (this one is opening night). Sunday's vocals are even better and I thought this was great.

  • Soozecat if this is nervous pitchy Taylor like you say I can't imagine how great it'll be in August. I thought he did an outstanding job. This was his first ever musical performance and he nailed it.

  • You can hear the nerves in his voice because the performance is really pitchy (and let's be honest fellow SP'ers, not really his style of music, but a great opportunity to garner new fans in an unusual way). This is opening night - a debut performance --- and I would gather that it takes awhile to get your groove on in that environment (plus not too much room for improvisation). My guess is that he will be much more comfortable by his final performance. Wishing Taylor all the best, as always.

  • Not his style? It's in the same style as You Send Me which he excelled at on AI.

  • Pitchy? No way Jose. Sounds pretty pitch perfect to me. It just goes to show ME that Taylor can sing anything and sing it well. I love the harmonica bit at the end!

  • I have been a huge fan of Taylor's since AI, and I LOVE that he's doing this....an amazing performance!!!! Thanks for posting the video, go Taylor!

  • Amazing !! Thanks so much for putting the video up. He did a great job!

  • To correct my last post this is what Ray actually said.

"Now, that's the right voice and style for this pop/rock song. Better than his predecessor and even Frankie Avalon."

I love this type of comment from someone outside of Taylor's fanbase.

  • vbyrne- The majority of Taylor's fans are excited about this new adventure that Taylor is taking. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way but don't speak for all of us. I'm so excited about this I'm going to fly to NYC just to see it.

I care what Ray thinks because he is a long time Grease fan and he wasn't that excited about Taylor having the part from what I understand. To hear that he thought Taylor did the best version of that song ever means a lot. Thanks Ray for sharing your opinion.

  • I have been waiting for this! Thanks for posting girl! Taylor Fabulous, as I knew it would be. I'm headed to NY this summer.

    Marie/Orlando.

  • Taylor Taylor Taylor...You are the greatest. That was just fantastic. What I wouldn't give to be sitting in that audience????? I am waiting for your next cd and tour. Love you!

  • That is an awesome rendition by a terrific performer. Kudos to you, Taylor.

  • Who the frick is Ray and why do you care what he thinks?

  • He nailed it! Spending three months on Broadway while recording his upcoming album in New York is purely brilliant on his part. Then it will be back on the road when he tours again. Taylor Hicks, ever the busy busy man raking in the dough wherever he goes. He's sure proved that he is a STAR . . . be it making appearances, perfoming for charity, headlining his own tours or appearing on Broadway! Bravo Taylor!!!

  • I just had to come back and watch this again. Thanks so much for posting this on YouTube. You all are the greatest. Tap and Diane. Taylor has it all.

  • I feel he has sold out his fan base by going to freaken broadway!!!! If he ever wants to gain a bigger fan base, he needs to lay off this man... I mean is it the money??? I dont get it

  • I can understand your feeling about his fanbase, but if you have followed him since AI....you realize how much he loves the oldies and he can do anything. You can't blame him for wanting to do this, and, when he tours, he needs money to pay that awesome tour band he has. He is the most versatile Idol ever.

  • vbyme25.....How is tapping into a whole new market selling out? I was dead set against T from AI until I saw this video. The song now rocks as it should. The band and backups can let loose behind a lead who has the right feel for the genre. Do his fans want to remain exclusive? Our money is as good as yours, and if T gets some of it, you should be glad.

  • This is so great...Taylor is the best and always a winner.. soon everyone will know what the Soul Patrol has known for a long time...Awesome Awesome performance...

  • Do I hear just a hint of Ray C. when he sings, "Your future's so unclear now..." ? It's at the very beginning. Go Taylor!

  • You heard a touch of Ray C and I heard a touch of a young Tony Bennett from the early 50's as well as a bit of NatKingCole and other classic 50's crooners mixed with the great DooWop sound of NY.

  • Taylor, you make us so proud. Keep doing what you do, we love you.

  • I have come to the firm conclusion that there is not life after Taylor and I am SO glad. Thanks to the both of you for getting this and Thanks to Taylor for always being amazing!!

  • It's been 2.5 years now and Taylor still amazes me. There's nothing he sets out to do that he doesn't carry through with excellence. I can't wait to fly to New York in August and see this in person.

  • Now, that's the right voice and style for this pop/rock song. Better than his predecessor and even Frankie Avalon. I've never been a Hicks fan, but I love this!!!!!

  • Thanks Ray...thats all T.'s fans really wanted, for people to give him a fair chance based on his performance.

  • Thank you, thank you. There is no way I can get to NY to see him and I was dying to hear him do that song.

  • More harp I say! Thanks for the vid.

  • I loved that so much. Taylor welcome back.

Cannot wait for his new music.

  • omg, thanks!!!! he sounds wonderful :)

  • OMG, I love that man! GO get 'em Tay! *smoooches*

  • what an absolutely beautiful rendition of that song. the falsetto was flawless. what a triumph for mr. hicks. so happy for him

  • Taylor was awesome and I will see him in August. I am so excited. Woo Hoo! ! !

  • This is actually one of my least favorite parts in the movie. But I really liked his version. And I loved the harp at the end. Sweetness!

  • Sweet!

  • Aw! Taylor, that was great.

  • Thank you both! LOVED it!!! And congratulation to Taylor for a great Broadway debut! :-)

  • Absolutely loved it!

  • hmmm.

  • awesome! :D

  • He whomped 'em didn't he? Thanks for being sneaky!!!! Good Golly Miss Molly!!

  • Thanks so much Tapp & Diane!!! LOVE IT!!!

I bet Taylor is having a blast lol!! Wish I could see this in person, but this is the next best thing!! ;)

  • Glad everyone can see this. Remember he's supposed to be on Regis and Kelly on Friday.

  • Awesome. I wish I was there!

  • Oh, Thank you Tappanga and Diane. You all are the greatest. And that Taylor is just awesome. Great take on the song. Love the harp, the hair and the voice. wooooooooooooooo

  • Super job Taylor !!! Got the harp in there too. Sound was great for this sneaky video. He definitley worked the part !

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! That was excellent! He did awesome! Thanks so so much Diane and Tappanga

  • That was GREAT!!!!! Thank you so much. We have been dying here to see this! Taylor TAYLORIZED BROADWAY!

  • you SPers are sneaky as hell. Thanks you. Love it he's in a ice cream? Perfect sound. I love that we can actually hear Tay. In most of these films we have to listen to the cat calls from the auidence. Great job Thanks so munch for this .

  • Another STAR just lit up on Broadway! Fabulous Taylor! You sound great!

  • Taylor sounds awesome! What an entrance and the falsetto was fabulous !

  • Rhat was amazing! His voice was absolutely perfect! Thanks Diane and Tapp!

  • Great job! Love the voice and it was lots of fun! It's smart to change things up a bit to keep the show fresh! Awesome!

  • I agree, AWESOME!

  • WOW THAT WAS AWESOME
