If you check the video, you can see a glass and aluminum folding door behind the stock double doors. Opening an entrance on the solid back wall would defeat the purpose of this design being more affordable, also, the purpose of the stock doors would be to shut and lock them as well as the window openings when not in use to prevent vandalism.
If I were designing this I'd not use the stock double doors as an entrance. I would probably end up welding them shut and cutting a hole for an actual door on the other end, or the side.

Yes, it can be used to collect rain water.
