  • genial!

  • @tinitussi21

    `

thank you tine, for sending this to me ~ it is truly amazing!

  • I feel cultured now.

  • 3/3 :

"no, impossible, it can't end like that !!! that's cinema, it can't !

In my opinion, the creator of the wonderful KIRIKOU signed, again, a wonderful chef d'oeuvre, that i'd like to thank you to making me discover it, by offering you a tentative of traduction, because english is a teached third language for me. Bye.

  • 2/3

One time, the inventors (who were very candide, we can gess) decided to present their new invention, a machine wich help to deplace fastly and without pain, in tows. So the people decided that the inventors were a menace to society, causing a lot of trouble in the establishment. So they decided that this must spot right now, by any way.

Then they burnt the house, within the three inventors...

At the end, you can see the cameraman who says :

  • 1/3 You asked for the subtitles :

The story is about 3 inventors : a man (a big inventor), a woman (a big female inventor), and a little inventor. They use to live in the same house, passing time to invent, but they were always misunderstood by the local people, saying that inventors used to trouble the "public order", so the notables, the church and the People (3 characters often representated) finally decided that the inventors were nasty, useless and trouble makers.

  • I can help you with the subtitles.

  • wow! How is possible such level of detail on papre? All hand work? I have no idea how this is done, someone knows?

    Amazing!

  • What a beautiful film!

  • Oh my God... the ending is really sad. It hurts.

If anyone calls for it, I ll be able to translate it. Even if subtitles may not be that much required.

  • Just checking that the uploaded does know that the DVD has English subtitles (from the top menu Sous-titres > Anglais > Avec > Les films) and that it's just including them in a video rip you've struggled with?

  • Beautifully crafted and styled !

This has got to become a classic !

  • Wunderbar. Genial. LG Bernd

  • Absolutely wonderful.

  • 12:33 No, that's not true. Sometimes it's not true. It may not be true. I assure you, you see, it's cinema.

  • GENIAL

  • Some English translations / subtitles at

8:07 Other famous asserted that the three inventors worked against the Pope.

9:37 Other famous people continued to assert that the inventors, by their ?, transgressed the laws of the Lords (aristocrats).

10:04 One day, the inventor, the woman inventor, and the little inventor, decided to show in the village a new invention that continued to operate continuously.

  • @Hamletmachin At 8:07 it isn't against the Pope that the inventors fight but against the People ("le peuple").

  • Another mistake : les lois du Seigneur= the laws of God, not the laws of the Aristocrats

And the missing word is "divertissement", which means "entertainment"

  • Tragically beautiful. I love paper.

  • this is incredible and beautifull!!!!!

  • anyone else SO glad that the fire flipped over the people before it got to the child? if i saw the child burn i may have started sobbing.

  • Thank you, Thank you so much for uploading this, I've been waiting to see it for such a long time. I adore paper, it's fragility and strength come hand in hand, and I love working with it. This animation is so powerful. I am in love. It's so beautiful that I genuinely feel like crying. <3

  • @MushroomMai You're very welcome, love!

I'm a big fan when it comes to working with paper, too. It's a whole lot more than just a material isn't it? :)

  • @daonhatha it definitely is, to some it is simply a surface, but I see it was a medium in itself. I love to collage with it, a few years ago I made paper sculptures with it, but I'm into illustrating now, using papers, coffee, paint, hair, wire... fabric! You can do so much with paper. You can stitch it, rip it, wet it, paint it, glue it, mould it... anything! Its the foundation for anything! :)

  • @MushroomMai Woah, any chance I can see your works? They sound incredibly awesome! It's amazing how you illustrate which such stuffs!

I'm working on a stop-motion animation in which I built an entire street and a theater from carton boxes. It was a lot of work and has taken me 8 months now but I never enjoyed myself more! I wish I was better at illustrating, though. I adore illustrators!

  • @daonhatha Ofcorse, I'll send you a link to my website and my blog. :) They both have diffirent examples of work there.

Your animation sounds exiting! is it on youtube?Or is it still in the making? :)

  • .....wow all i can say is... wow i dont speak french but honestly i dont have to it was so beautify portrayed that the animation spoke for itself.

  • hi is great master!
