As for policing. I'm a police officer, a supervisor and I've been in situation like that before, where the community come out against the police. Most of the citizens do not know police protocol and sometimes if you talk with the person that's pushing the crow you can deescalate the scene other time you have to use force.

20-25 years ago Laventille used to be quiet what happen? the place is infest with so much drugs and gangs. Most of these gang members were deported from the US alot of them are harden criminals. Sadly I was not surprised by the behavior of he villagers, as disrespectful and shameful as it was, nor was I surprised by the Police, whom regardless of what their role was to perpetuate the situation, kept their composure at least while the cameras were rolling, but what is most disappointing is this mad woman we call Marcia, we suddenly didn't know, time, or place, or protocol or anything of that matter, from the time she arrived on scene.

Most of the citizens do not know police protocol and sometimes if you talk with the person that's pushing the crow you can deescalate the scene other time you have to use force.

@skatts padna..... i does wonder too.... they are their own worst enemy. not the government, not the police... it's a cycle in laventille (and other areas with the same problem). children have more or less no one to look up to for good examples to so the lawlessness (i can think of so many other adjectives to describe them but i trying to be constructive) will be perpetuated for years to come unfortunately. and the rest of the citizens will have to live with them

And when she asks the villagers "whose shells are those?" did she really expect them to say anything else but the police's?AND, why d France would she touch the evidence with her bare hands. Even the young man who took her to the spot where the shells were, had the sense and experience maybe enough to know to clad his hand with a hand kerchief even just to point to them.

Geeze, the officers are trying to contain a riot and she's honestly expecting and them to answer her. I I've seen the best of interviews during war times and you see the reporters in the midst of everything being very intimate with the camera and not with the bombers and the shooters. instead of trying to give the viewers the closest and best angle and commentary, she was soo busy making herself almost part of the story.

I was most disturbed at the fact that Marcia allowed herself to get soo emotional and biased when a reporter's job is to bring the news to the public in an unbiased manner, whether or not you're a reporter in a traditional sense , there was no need for her to be taking chain up from the residents and getting all worked up in the officers' face, while demanding answers from them in such an untimely manner.

@babekae you don't live in trinidad so you don't understand how the police works in trinidad, trinidad police is the major cause of the crimes in this country, they take more bribe than anything else, they release a murderer for a few thousands dollars, they beat a man because the man ask for help to carry a old lady in hospital, they don't attend to people in need of them, they work more with the criminals.

And I know trini people, Maybe we spend to much time jumping ,waving and misbehaving. Not enough time trying to build the communities, we talk we cry...but it never leads to action. You can't blame those in authority for crime. When we know who the criminals are and do nothing, we are part takers of crime. Love the country.
