A few things have to come to factor,we use 5,000 plus verter , which will make 400 hp. have some air under the front's launch was at 2,200 , ,We put a stocker 340 in her making around 420 hp , gets good air with the 340 also launch is from idle with the 340 , check some of my latest videos, has the Duster with the 340 weighing 3,360
Okay so i have the same car with the same amount of torque and hp. it's got a 4:88 spool in it with ladder bars and weights 3100lbs. Do you think it will lift the wheels on a good track while launching at 3000rpms? What rpm are you launching at?
Graduated in 71...first good job I got bought me a 68 Super Bee for 800 BUCKS...ran it every weekend local...no track...just bridges right on 1/4 mile apart. I did great til a kid brought in a 70 Swinger 340/300 HP...he beat me a length on the front end and added another on the backside.
You know, the wheel stand it'self isn't nearly as impessive as how well the car handles it. The dampening on that car is just spot on and she settles right in with very little drama. Extemely impressive.
@bringdnoiz no trans brake on that car, otherwise you would have heard it come up on the rev limiter before launch.
In any case, you're just mad that your POS chevy trans won't take the abuse of a trans brake without extreme modifications, and that us mopar guys need only install heavy duty bands in a 727 and we can give it all the abuse we want.
@Polybun yeah yeah you know exactly what i drive dont you. well you dont because i drive a 67 formula S fastback barracuda with a .30 over steel crank 440 with said 727. also drive a 59 belvedere with a 318 out of my old 79 2 door diplomat. care to talk any more shit? ive owned chryslers all my life but if i really wanted to make some power i would indeed be running a chevrolet engine thanks.
@bringdnoiz YOu can't make power cheap with a chevy, that's a myth. You can go faster on junkyard parts with a mopar than most chevy guys will do 10 grand engines. You can dip into the 10's on junkyard parts and a small block mopar. Try that with a chevy. You'll need aftermarket rods, crank, cam, intake and carbs to even touch low 11's.

@Polybun You sir have never herd of "LS" series engine
mizix2001 3 months ago
@mizix2001 an LS series engine isn't a cheap junkyard part. You can buy 383 magnums all day long for $250, drop it in an A-body and run low 11's.
Polybun 3 months ago
@Polybun here in pa local yard, ANY engine, 350 bucks your chances of finding a 383 / 440 over an lq4 6.0 truck engine are slim
