yeah that is way slow, mine does 0-60mph, in about 5.5 secs, do you have any mods? the short shifting doesn't help either. These motors in these things, are strong little things and can take abuse rather welcomingly, dont be afraid to hit that 7100rpm mark, that's why its there, and if you have nvc, you are not getting te full effect by shifting that early..
@Danielrc91 - I Dont know. All I know the other sentra's here are called 160SE and mine was a 160STI which only 10 were built in South-Africa. The engine does look different after further inspection vs the other ones. The top cover looks bulky where the two cam gears are where the other engines are more flat. So it definetely is a different engine. Use to eat everything that was 1600 and not done. Hanged with 200is opel kadett/astra's of same model until we changed to 4th gear.
PS. The opel kadett and astra's (93 model) were considered to run 0 - 60mph in 9.1 seconds. My 4th gear started at 140.

As far as i found the astra does 0-60mph in 10.5m, at least the 1.6l, the 2.0 from that model does 0-100kmh in 9.5 (couln'd find 0-60 time).

you can floor it till the limiter, that's around 7500 rpm than shift !
doesn't do you any good but it feels really fast haha

@NvdWesthuizen GA16DE's maximum rpm when untuned is 6900rpm mine could go up to 7200 with a few mod
