  • In the zone at 3:05, pure badass !

  • BTW the two girls to the left of Jo Jo are Cassie Gaines and Leslie Hawkins.

  • The girl to the right in white dress is Jo Jo Billingsley not Cassie Gaines.

  • @reverendoftwang1 J J is gone now to reunited with Steve, Cassie & Ronnie gonna be a great show up there,

  • As good as it gets. As good as Joplin doing "Ball and Chain" at Woodstock. As good as Queen doing "Radio Ga Ga" at Live Aid. Jo Jo Billingsley and the Honkettes kicked ass. In fact, this is the best Honkettes video IMHO. Good bless Skynyrd.

  • Long Live Skynyrd!!!!!!!

  • 1:46 EPIC WOMEN

    Does anybody know their names?

  • @Paraclete333 The one on the right is Cassie Gaines. (white dress) She was Steve Gaines sister and they both died in the crash. Not sure about the other two..

  • @timinla64 Thanks. :)

  • @timinla64 The one to the right is Jo Jo Billingsley and the two on the left are Cassie Gaines & Leslie Hawkins

  • @Paraclete333 The one to the right is Jo Jo Billingsley RIP. The ones to the left are Cassie Gaines RIP & Leslie Hawkins. AKA "The Honkettes"

  • RVZ Still the best, no one yet as good as the original LS.

  • the only original skynyrd member left is rossington and i would love to meet him just once....to tell him how much he influenced me and my guitar playing....thank you skynyrd

  • @axekiller58 Bob Burns is still living.

  • Without trying to diss The Brothers. They were more of a JAM Band. Take there song Dreams. they Jammed it. MollyHatchett did it with hard driving southern rock. Both bands did it in thier own way. But the Allmans wrote Dreams. DJB changed it up and made a hit for MH out of it. Skynyrd was Hard Driving southern Rock & Roll with Blue's with some of the best songs ever written. Ed King brought a lot to the band. Steve Gaines added a lot as well. I would loved to see Gaines Fronting Skynyrd. R.I.P..

  • i want gary rossington and ronnie wood to play some slide together

  • R.I.P. RONNIE if you looked the word badass up in the dictionary it should have a picture or rvz

  • Steve Gaines was a major plus to the band. He is gone and so is A. Collins, both great guitar players....There is no more LYNYRD SKYNYRD , no matter who they add or take from the band..It will never be the same band, not just because of Ronnie, whom was the lead vocalist.....They all put their heart and soul into what they were doing....THERE WILL NEVER,EVER BE ANOTHER LYNYRD SKYNRYD NEVER...NEVER...NEVER...NEVER...upon N.E.V.E.R.!!!!!!

  • @hanklove4ever Couldnt have said it better thank you. never be another RONNIE

  • @hanklove4ever Don't make me cry dude..these fuckers were the best of the best

I was into something else in 70's that I totally miss them, only heard about the plane crash but I dismissed the whole shit, but now I wish I had seen these guys live..like I had a chance to see the Police live and passed..now I regret the whole thing..

Thanks man like you say Never Never I will never have another chance to these shows in real time live..Let me go and fucking weep now

  • @hanklove4ever Ronnie Van Zant is was and will always be Lynyrd Skynyrd. When he died along with his new songwriting soul mate Steve Gaines the band died. Just look at their track records after the crash. Ronnie was the glue that held it together. He wrote the songs, sang the songs, kept everyone in line, did the hiring and firing. It was "HIS BAND". As Rolling Stone Magazine said...."LYNYRD SKYNYRD" WAS SOUTHERN ROCK..RONNIE VAN ZANT WAS LYNYRD SKYNYRD" .

  • @hanklove4ever FUCK YOU PUSSY

  • time traveler is the forever dateed

  • Look at Leon!! Thats some some real badass player!

     Awesome!

  • @uggatrip rip Leon

  • That girl in the middle has got some pipes.

  • @HemiHead66 That was Cassie Gaines who died in the plane crash with her brother Steve and Ronnie.

  • @whichonespink77 I always knew their names, but I never knew which was which by looking at them. I looked them up awhile back, but I couldn't compare 2 of them to what they looked like in this video cuz they were so much older. And when I looked up Cassie Gains, the pictures didn't look like that little girl in the middle. She looks like she was just snatched up from the church choir in this video.

  • @HemiHead66 Cassie introduced her brother to the band (guy in the white button up shirt) He turned out to be a helluva an asset to the band.

  • Gotta love how the boys get the brits moving ;)

  • Are you a traveling man?

  • This is one of those songs that you'd shoot a man in the back to while it's playing at some dive bar at 4 a.m. in Texas.

  • Great band. Great song. Rest in peace, Jo Jo !! We'll miss you!!!

  • @tsprague1 Only the Allman Brothers and ZZ Top have been together longer than Skynyrd of those bands. But you failed to mention Charlie Daniels Band, Wet Willie and Barefoot Jerry. Of the ones you mentioned, only ZZ Top, Skynyrd and Allman Bros have been more successful than CDB. Confederate RR is not an old band and Edgar Winter was never Southern Rock neither is Johnny Winter even though they are from Texas.

  • @rockinredneck57 There is an element of blues used in southern rock,..Johnny Winter "still alive & well" can be considered as well Edgar "Tobacco Road", although Johnny focuses more on pure blues. Edgar & Johnny produced southern rock bands in the 70's and contributed musically to the southern sound, but those bands didn't have great commercial success so most don't know about them, but killer stuff! You would have to be from Texas, Southern Rock began in Texas not Florida!

  • This is a pretty good song. Didn't Skynyrd re record it in the 90s with the other Van Zant brother?

  • 3 com park 1977 cowboys, santana, Skynyrd, Peter frampton R) field seats 1st concert..too cool and never to be repeated

  • leslie hawkins

  • simply dosent get any better than this right here.... RIP southern rock gods

  • @tsprague1 I'm quite aware of the other southern rock bands and I am an Allmans fan. But I personally think LS and the Allmans are not only the best southern rock bands, but the best bands period.

  • @tcbjmh Don't forget ZZ Top in that mix, bro. Also Charlie Daniels in the 70's (before Devil Went Down to Georgia). All of them, plus Wet Willie. Hard to top them with any other genre of music then. From about 73 to 77 Southern Rock ruled. That was its heyday.

  • u all seem to forget a Michigan Band called Grand Funk Railroad

  • @Syzygy60 Nope! I totally dig their music. I'm a classic rock die harder....but Skynyrd set the bar for their genre. I'm sure some people feel that way about Allman Brothers...i know my sis does. U do have a point, and ur opinion....and i respect that. Keep on Rockin! :-)

  • @wildpony98 thats that concert as you can see the stage is done like the logo the stones used

  • Wow - that's called hitting the 'pocket' at 2:28. Every member of the band - fantastic!

  • @icefan847 ........ I like that saying. I've loved that part of Travellin Man since I first heard it.

    Ronnie is gone.

    Allen is gone.

    Steve is gone.

    Cassie is gone.

    Billy is gone.

    Leon is gone.

    Artimus is elsewhere.

    Only Gary left.

  • I seen them live in nashville in 2006 it was so damn nice i'll never forget the show it was for their live DVD

  • JoJo miss ya sweets,i'm at peace knowing where you are.

  • I love southern rock and southern rock is Skynnyrd! There is another band that can play southern rock, The Allman Brothers Band, the Live Fillmore album was the best they ever made.

  • I thought I heard once that LS opened for the Stones and the Stones said they got their ass kicked on stage by Lynyrd...

  • @Wildpony98 The Stones never said that, but the general consensus was that Skynyrd just knocked off the champs. LS put on the best show of their career here and the Stones showed up several hours late and half-assed their way thru the show. This concert put LS on the international scene. Too bad it was over soon after. If Ronnie was still alive we wouldnt think of Zepplin, The Who and Aerosmith the way we do. All incredible bands but LS was primed to take over.

  • So bad ass. These guys didnt require light shows and pyrotectnics to rock the house. All they had to do was go out and pick their guitars to some of the best songs ever written. Doubt they gave a dam about being in a pepsi commercial or singing half time at the super bowl. Would have probaly put on a show if it paid nothing. Ronnie recorded any song that he wanted to and didnt give a damn what any producer or record executive thought about it. One of the true classic bands.

  • man jo jo was hot..

  • can somebody tell me what album is this song from?

  • @uzickismrad i don't think the original band ever had a studio version of this song, always done it live. the new band did put it on the album twenty with johnny and ronnie sharing the vocals. Also, the original bands live version of it is on the one more from the road album.

  • @cashcac84 yep. thanks, man!

  • Comment removed

  • what concert was this? please

  • @uzickismrad knebworth...rolling stones was the headlining act.

  • @cashcac84 skynyrd was i have the poster in my room

  • @platter4 skynyrd was what?

  • like watching them flop around at the 0:30 mark. Like pancakes!

  • I'm just trying to figure out why it is that Jo Jo Billingsley looks like those maracas she's shaking weigh about twenty pounds. Watch her at the beginning of the video-- it looks like they're getting the best of her. `Never seen anybody work so hard!

  • I think the cameraman had a huge crush on JoJo BIllingsley and Cassie Gaines, RIP.

I sure don't blame him. They were some sexy Southern gals!

  • my favorite song.

  • check the duck tape on the mic now thats rock an roll!!

  • @TheRisingforce2000 You mean duct tape?

  • @Freebird10201977 type error

  • 2:06 to 2:48 as bad ass as it can get. Wow what a friggin performance.

  • lynyrd skynyrd rock, no band can come within miles r lynyrd skynyrds standern, god rest to souls of ronnie and all the other free birds

  • Why can't lady gaga's man lookin self get on a plane and crash that bitch sucks and ain't worth dog shit. That freak looks like "it puts the lotion on the skin or it gets the hose again" SKYNYRD RULES!!!!!!

  • Damn, I wish time travel was possible. Would love to back and see this show! I never got to see the original band, as I was in my early teens when the plane crash occured. The closest I ever came to seeing the original band was on the 87 reunion tour...hard to believe they're almost all gone now. Skynyrd was the best!

  • What do you come onto this site for...... then....leave....and don't come back, you wouldn't be missed or remembered....But Skynnard will always be remembered we are true fans and who cares who you listen to?

  • I'm pretty sure bands like the Stones, and Led Zeppilin worshiped lynyrd skynyrd. No other band besides skynyrd has been able to make southern rock. These guys were rock gods and Ronnie Van Zant is prob the most underated singer and songwriter ever

  • @tcbjmh, I do agree with you 100%, please don't forget

The Marshal Tucker Band along with a host of others

that came out of Woodstock. I date myself, but I consider

myself extremely lucky to have been there and still here

now to hear what is being uploaded, Thank you one and all.

  • @tcbjmh Ronnie wasnt underated when he was alive or for a few years after his death...,,,

  • @tcbjmh the best band coming outta the states IMHO

  • @tcbjmh allman brothers?

  • Comment removed

  • @tcbjmh what about the allman brothers, they where the original southern rock band, they whereboth similar and different in there own way but Skynyrd wasnt the only successful southern rock band

  • @msb105 Lynyrd Skynyrd always looked to the Allmans as they wanted to be as polished and smooth as they (Allmans were)

  • @tcbjmh Just like Ronnie always said.. He wrote real songs, for real people. He was indeed.. the man.

  • @tcbjmh im preety sure zepplin worshiped the black blues players that these guys prob looked down on =/

  • @zosothedestroyer doubt they looked down on black blues players. Listen to a song called "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe" you dumb ass

  • @tcbjmh blow me ya dumb redneck

  • @zosothedestroyer these guys loved the blues. haven't you ever heard 'curtis lowe'?

  • @tcbjmh 1st off the Stones and Zeppelin was out of the UK. The Stones were formed in 62 Zeppelin was formed in 68. It took 11 years for Skynyrd to make it big. I love all of these bands, but they are totally different styles of music and can't really be compaired to each oher. Skynyrd made it big in 73 when their self titled album was released. It had, Gimme Three Steps, Tuesdays Gone, Simple Man, and the Infamous, Freebird on it. Skynyrd IS southern rock, the Stones and Zeppelin are more rock.

  • @gsbacorn Your right Brother, there is no comparing Skynyrd to any one!

  • @gsbacorn Dosen't mean they couldn't like Skynyrd. During a show when they were opening for The Who, Pete Townshend stopped himself midsentence and said "They really are quite good arn't they?"

  • @camarorider67 I just meant Skynyrd was an original. I didn't say they couldn't like them. You really can't post anything on here without a negative feedback.

  • @gsbacorn No, it's just your comment came off like you were attacking Skynyrd.

  • @camarorider67 No way man, I love Skynyrd. They are awesome! Original Southern Rock at its finest! Check out OSMR if you get a chance, they do some awesome covers and some GREAT originals also. They are on here too.

  • @TwigDjango check out I Never Dreamed, I Need You, Woman Of Mine, Coming Home, Am I Losing and Cry For The Bad Man if these songs dont do it for you then youre just not a fan

  • Er, no, I'm not a fan. That's what I already implied.

  • Just thought Id suggest a few songs for you to try and thanks for telling us all that you dont like Skynyrd, Im sure everyone is concerned about your musical taste or lack there of

  • Comment removed

  • man fuck you maybe if you would appreciate great rock and talent you would understand lynyrd

  • @TwigDjango Whatever glitter man, it's well documented that Skynyrd blew the Stones off the fucking stage at this festival. Also, when they opened up for The Who a few years before this, Pete Townsend said they were one of the best live acts he'd seen. This band didn't need props and funny outfits.

  • i agree fuck you the musicianship of the band was incredable twig go listen to some fuckin eminem

  • Hahaha, I think it's hilarious you'd automatically assume I'm some whitebred suburbanite who listens to bullshit like Eminem. Check my favourite, fucker. Bowie > Skynyrd.

  • @TwigDjango

Gotta have an ear for talent to get it, dude!

  • Thanks for the Post. Awesome Song!

  • i love skinard but!! what they did to gezzer was bull shit!!!!REAL BULL SHIT!!!! if not for him all of them would be DEAD!!! he ran for help with his ribbs hanging out,and they repay him by kicking him out, what the fuck!! but love the band none the less

  • I M M O R T A L Ronnieeee!

  • LYNYRD SKYNYRD often imatated never duplicated you cant even come close to a band like this now and all I can say is the lord only knows what Ronnie would of wrote about everything our country has been through since 77 fly on freebird. greatly missed never forgotten

  • I accidentally did a thumbs down on you. Sorry. But what I was going to say was, "Word, brother."

  • @Odoyle396 I don't think he'd be doing backward ass hillbilly music like "Skynyrd" does now. He was a smart dude.

  • @Odoyle396 Very true.. Alot of people dont know or remember this but Molly Hatchet only became popular after Skynyrd Died...... I was a fan of MH. But Skynyrd ruled the southern rock scene.... Outlaws were a close Second! And cant forget Allman Bros... It was great to be in my late teens when these guys ruled..

  • @Odoyle396 I wonder that too about JohnLennon.

  • on the day that I was born his blood was left to me. not his truck was left to me. LOL! roflmao!

  • uh dude the jokes on you because it is "his truck was left to me" so hahahaha. look it up on any lyric website

  • This concert was something else.....

  • YEP RONNIE VAN ZANT

  • Yep Nice tune. Been awhile since I have heard this. Still smokin.

  • I love this song 5/5

  • I too
