People forget how great the Bucks franchise were back in the '70s and 80s...the mediocrity over the last 20 years or so kinda made forget about great players like Moncrief, Cummings, Lanier, Marques Johnson, among others. Arguably, they were THE model franchise of the NBA during this time frame.
i always wondered what might 've been had the Bucks gave Marques his long overdue accorded contract, & if he had not held out. That was a hell of a team.

@2cold1. Bob Lanier says the retirement of Dave Myers in 1980 cost them the championship of later particularly in 1981 and 1982.

This was the year of Sidney Moncrief because Marques had that long holdout. Before that holdout it was Marques's team.
