easy to say and to implement at so well prepared and long slopes :) and i believe these movies are not made in Danmark at all. at chapter 0 lector said something about Alps skiing thus I conclude that it must be Austria, France, Italy or Switzerland
You're right - shin bite is something you can try and minimise by having well fit boots and technical ski socks that don't wrinkle causing pressure points and therefore bruising ! But if you are skiing for a week, once per year, your shins will always be a bit sore - not sure there's any way around it really ! Good luck
Every time I ski, my chins end up hurting like crazy. Anybody have tips for this? When he talks about leaning forward I'm telling ymself aww crap, chins gonna hurt like crazy at the end of the day..
How stupid can u b to post such a comment! The man is Danish, and he certainly skis pretty nice. So, think a bit if u have just a little brain be4 leave such nonsense
I'm simply stating a fact.. have u ever been to Norway? All the ski slopes are crowded with danes.. and they suck... bad.. so even if theese instructors are better than 99% of all danes... DANISH PEOPLE CAN'T SKI!!!
ok so 1 make nice carved turnes. From the first video. The second video: The basic position: 1 make sure that you don't lean back to much or you will lose your ballance so keep your hands where you can see them.2 Make sure that you dont be stiff when you ride because you can lose ballance and get hurt, so get down in the basic position to get a feal for the terain and stuff. 3 Dont have your skis to close or you will be to stiff, make sure that they are 10 to 15 cm away
I really like this program its really helpful!! But I am going to sign up for skiing lessons just becase I want the most help since I am a slow learner haha
Hey Quick lokk and lotsa negative comment. I think this is a good video series. We only get to ski well by skiing with awareness but there are some good tips here.happy new year to all :)
you are dumb this is a video for people trying to improve their skiing, not try it for the first time. and pig toe pressure isn't that important, that is used to correct bad technique, more importantly pressure on your shins from your boots.
i've been skiing for 20 years and now im 24... pressure on ur shin? well this is it :) if u do bigtoe (not pig) pressure, then ur legs will be fine, and u'll get ur shins pressing ur boots
+the big toe stuff gets u stability
ofc. if u want to go faster, less bigtoe, more heel pressure; extreme situation (deep new snow): only heel
BUT 4 BeGgInNeRs on a prepared piste: big toe ;)
and this video is: "Learn to ski", not "Improve ur skiing"
Your body might be a taperstry of fibonacci relationships. Mine however is a cheap rug of beer related fat. It is the art of trying to balance this on two planks that I seek to perfect.
Hmmm. You really are a dick head aren't you? It was sarcasm. You know, 'ironic humour' in response to a funny previous post. I'm sorry if that one passed you by. Of course I'm not fat and I'm actually a half decent skiier. In future engage your brain first if you have one.
Before I was 10 I understood that to become a great skier I had to shift my primary focus away from learning how to ski to that of thinking how to ski. The body is a taperstry of fibonacci relationships. The angels, acceleration of angle change, weighting, speed of weighting change etc should be based on fibonaci relationships. It just that simple golden spiral is found throughout nature & the best of the best of the best think of approaching skiing based on the golden spiral.
"Lean forward and press you shins on the front of the boot" With feet tight together as well eh! This is just appaling advice, it's you who should be taking the lessons!
Join a race club and learn how it should be done!
This is a good and wellpresented series for anyone learning to ski, period. Some years ago french instructors tried to ban danish instructors from their resorts, but that was only because they felt threatened by the talented and friendly danes. That may be the cause of some of the more "serious looking" bad comments from "professionals".
I know, awfull isn't it. But the women in the vid only went along to 'please their husbands' they've been skiing that way for 25 years despite masses of classes. Still, I expect they will be stopping for hot chocolate soon! After all it's nearly 10.30.
thank for all the great help now i can be a really good skier it is so much fun to ski Thanks again for all the great tips

simply bad not to closing the skis? wtf?
for beginners, ofcourse it is bad, but not for advanced/exp. skiers I think (except on very bad terrain)
1 more thing: the bigtoe pressure, 1 of the important things to learn
btw, 1st things to learn:
what is hill-arm, hill-leg, valley-arm, valley-leg
how to move in ski-boots
how to move with skis on the leg in V-shape
learning begins on blue signed skiruns, etc.

then try lose some fucking weight? if your fat don't bother then. YOu would probably cause a bloody avalanche anyway.
So stop fucking complaining about it. If your too fat and unco to balance on 2 planks, so be it. Either lose some weight or practise more.
You want someone to make a vid 'how to ski if your overweight and unco'???
You sound like a nerd who owns a comic shop and rarely sees daylight or does any sort of physical activity.
