To recognise french you have to search for past participle which end in -é. So if you find an abnormal amount of words finishing in -é, its french. Or you can search for the pronouns(Je-Tu-Il-Nous-Vous-Il­s). French also have an exceptionnal amount of vowels while german is mostly consonents.
