There is no question that he is a sick and talented drummer. His cymbal work and technique is some of the most complex and technical in the scene.

However, does anyone else feel that the level of 'groove' on the new album isn't what it was on With Dead Hands Rising - Behind Inquisitions?

It feels as if the songs are more rushed,even the remakes from the older albums, and leaves less time for the break to actually "fall" or hit. In other words the timing of the pauses and their length.

The fact that he leans and puts so much effort into ever movement speaks for it's self. Half the drummers out there just sit like steamy coil of shit or over pronounce their movements, but fuck up when trying to act cool. Dan is a sick drummer, all around.

Pretty damn good with his feet. Dont like the breakdown, lame trendiness. Snare is really high, very unusual. Toms are very flat and would be hard not to hit the rim, probably why he dosn't do many rolls.
