My mom lives in the gated community where this was filmed. What you can't see here is that they have these mini speed bumps that more closely resemble launching pads. Anyways, long story short, this guy took the turn going way too fast, hit the speed bump/launching ramp, and went into the lake.

BTW, the speed limit is 15 on these streets

Poor car was in the water for almost a week. I would have saved the kid too but after I saved his dumass, I would probably slap him right across the face for ruining my car, even if its a Toyota Yaris.(do not own one, just sayig).

Regardless of it its a Ferrari or a cheap car the driver did the right thing in missing the kid, I highly doubt the speed some people are saying as the wheel/tyres vs. kerb say not as they would be smashed to pieces and the damage to the car would be much worse from hitting the water, regardless of car I would expect the kids parents/guardian to pay for the damage caused by failing in there duty in exercising proper control over there child & teaching it about road use for its own safety.

Looks like a private street in a neighborhood subdivision, the speed limit could be as low as 25 MPH maybe 35MPH, either way he could have easily missed anyone on the street if he was not speeding.

To hit and jump the curb, then crash over the rocks into the lake, he had to be going MUCH faster, My guess 70-80 MPH

Then to be to cheap to wait a week to get it towed out
