  • Yorkshire, Lake District, Scottish Highlands, Snowdonia, Cornwall, Devon.. the list goes on and on

Great Britain is a very beautiful isle

  • An outstanding film by any standards. Expertly put together, well narated without having a tv personality forced upon us. You deserve to sell many DVDs of this and I hope you make more films of this quality.

  • I live here woooooo

  • NEW YORKshire XD

  • Yes, there is nowhere like The Yorkshire Dales:

  • This is a paradise left on the earth, still among only few, unspoiled.. I wish to go there with my loved one soon!! Dagmar HK

  • Yorkshire! Yorkshire! Yorkshire!

  • Stunning! I thought we had beautiful landscapes here in the US, but I am speechless! Cheers to my British brothers and sisters!!!

  • Middlemoor i have cycled up there. And sat on those same seats.Back down and up to Scar House and Angram Res'.Beautiful.Then nip along to How Stean Gorge.Enjoy.Janet Street Porter has been seen in Middlesmoor.

  • Thumbs up if Wuthering Heights brought you here :)

  • England is better than Scotland.

  • @Adschi2010

    It is different not better!

  • My family heritage is originally from Yorkshire. I am to go back there someday.

  • I'm on Long Island NY. I have been watching this show on Netflix called All Creatures Great and Small. It's setting is in Yorkshire in a fictitious town called Daraby. They often refer to the Dales on the show. I wanted to find out what the Dales refers to. Very pretty area. The show reminds me of the American Lassie TV show. I like the bygone era where no cursing is heard and no shagging seen. Better keep the Muslims away from the Dales or they will slaughter the sheep! AHAHAHAHAH

  • roy west

  • Peerless countryside. Up there with the very best in the world.

  • Could someone kindly tell me the locations shown at 15 seconds and at 5 minutes 40 seconds of this beautiful video? Thank you so much.

  • @roxxite 1)Overlooking Kettlewell, . 2) Middlesmoor, Nidderdale.

  • One day we will be free from British tyranny and the WHITE ROSE will fly high above York Minister

    YORKSHIRE YORKSHIRE YORKSHIRE

  • Yorkshire and Cornwall should become independent nations.

  • absolutely stunning mate.

  • Ever since reading the James Herriot books when I was young I`ve had an overwhelming urge to see the Dales, possibly the most beautiful place on earth and coming from a Canadian thats saying something!! I hope I get the chance to visit someday. Sooo Beautiful!!

  • Beautiful... just sooo beautiful!!! THANK you!

  • i wanna live in a place like this.. <3 yorkshire!

  • Well done, informative. It would be nice to also have a version with just music and no narration to fully immerse yourself.

  • Thank you for your comments. We do have a film with only music showing the beautiful Yorkshire countryside . Have a look for "DVD Postcard: Relaxing Yorkshire" on our website.

  • I think its funny that the Northern English still use so many Germanic (Anglo-Saxon) words, while the Southern English don't. For example "dale" is a Germanic word (Dutch & North German: daal), while "valley" is a French word actually (La vallée).

Anyways, the north of England is really nice, it's true. I would sign that ! And note that i do not sign things easily :)

  • @Elberiver11

    dich trifft man auch überall!

  • What you see in these stunning pics is England in all its glory. Nowhere in the World could you find a landscape more ravashing than this, and it's ours, to look at and to cherish for the rest of our lifes. I would die for it.

  • @tonester09 The landscape of England is absolutely beautiful. Also the English are not "cold", as their reputation is. At least not in the north of England! In the south they are a bit stuck-up, aren't they. I found i get on with the northeners of England far better than with the southerners. The southerners are polite, but you never know whether they mean what they say..... The Northern English are blunt and speak their mind, just like the continentals, i love that. lol

  • @tonester09 Does Lancashire look the same? Or at least, similar?

For some odd reason Yorkshire is the most famous part of Northern England, thats odd, isn't it. Cause i suppose the other shires are beautiful, too. That's also why i knew what a Yorkshire accents sounded like, but i never knew what a Lancashire accent sounded like.

I guess i would like all shires of the north. By landscape, i like the south English shires too. But the people of Northern England are definetely friendlier.

  • @Elberiver11 Oui oui it does indeed. We have shitloads of places like that, forest of Bowland, pennine moors, beacon fell, stunning they are. Yea Yorkshire is the most famous County, it's also the biggest on in England, bloody huge it is. Even though the house of Lancaster beat the house of York in the war of the roses, so go on Lancashire!! :P You know what a Lancs accent...well a Preston one sounds like now though, do you not :P

  • @Elberiver11

Watch parts of the BBC version of Robin Hood. Jonas Armstrong, as Robin Hood, has an accent of Lancashire. Sounds just beautifully.

  • Absolutely beautiful. My husband is from South Yorkshire, and I've had the pelasure of experiencing such breath-taking scenery multiple times.

I noticed someone disliked this - why?

  • @stratgurl must be from lancashire!

  • I've got as many subscribers as this vid has views, lol.

  • Nice video, thank you. Do you have one of views, pleasant music and no commentary per chance?

  • it annoys me when i go to these beautiful parts of yorkshire then return to bradford. its almost as if on the sixth day, god created yorkshire, and on the seventh day whilst god was resting, allah came and plonked bradford in the middle of it!

  • my nana lives here i wana move her wen im older im curently 14 i wish to move here with mum at 18 maybee

  • im a lancashire guy show yorkshire as it should be, not by some pussyfied southern dickhead who gets his arse waxed once a month, ....... up the north!!!!

  • beautiful! better than I imagined!

  • YORKSHIRE till i die

  • Makes me proud of my Yorkshire accent :)

  • love thE bEAUTIFUL_GREEN OF THE NORTH OF ENGLAND !!! mIss IT !

  • You never have to ask someone if they come from Yorkshire... If a person comes from yorkshire they will tell you, if not there is no need to embarrass people.

  • Tha can allus tell a Yorkshireman, but tha can`t tell him much!

  • @warriorprince1010 Since when is asking someone if their from yorkshire embarassing them. I'm from yorkshire and proud to be from the best county in the world, unlike all the southern football holligans.

  • @zIITaLeNTzIIz You clearly have never ehard the quote. I am from Yorkshire and because Yorkshire people are proud they will tell you where they are from, thus you do not need to ask them.

  • no coastlines in the yorkshire dales

  • No, the Dales are landlocked because they are more westerly. Go east, and you`ll come across some of the most stunning Yorkshire coastal scenery anywhere.

  • Stunning views.

  • Should of had Dickie Bird or Micheal Parkinson doing the commentary.

    Gotta Love YORKSHIRE

  • Yorkshire born 'n' bred and there will never be a place as special and as stunning as this place is to me. "Proud as punch" as they say.

  • Well said x

  • Yorkshire has the best scenery ever. Go Yorkshire

  • This i my neck o the woods an i love it..X

  • Although I now live in Hong Kong, Yorkshire will always be my home.

  • omg i want to go there sooooooooo badddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • Beautifull country! Greeting from Hungary+

  • Thank god i was born in the kingdom of yorkshire

  • @MrMattysmith83

Sorry to say you are slightly... incorrect with your choice of wording, the state of the art literature, the magnificent writers and of course, your majesty, the queen, mostly originates from London.

I would strongly suggest watching your choice of wording, "down south" involves a hell of a lot of people, insulting quite a lot of people on your own isn't a very smart act.

Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, I seriously doubt God came from Yorkshire, Sorry.

  • now now mr charisma! envy will get you nowhere. xx

  • I moved out of Yorkshire and now I'm back. I love it here. The dales is a place I have visited often since childhood, in the snow, rain or shine. its where the heart lies.

  • i was born in yorkshire and all my family are from yorkishire. i love it here we are the the nices people in england infact i hate to be called english coz english people are those tossers from down south

  • @MrMattysmith83 ahem thats a bit predudice!!! seeing as i highly doubt you know every single southerner!!! so why are we tossers?

i would just like to say i love yorkshire as well but comments like that are out of order

  • @MrMattysmith83 what are you on about you numpty lol my fathers from London he used to be a cockney dock worker very nice chap , he moved up here with me mother who's a Yorkshire lass and i like folk from the south , but Yorkshire has got to be the most beautiful place on earth .

  • 1.04 wheres that in Yorkshire? Im a Yorkshire lad not seen that place.

  • It's Yew Cougar Scar in the Yorkshire Dales.

  • @OrangeCrushUK - it lookek a bit like like Heptonstall near Hebden Bridge too

  • If you value your life and reason, keep away from the moors and don't cross over the moss and stray from the path.

  • As some one who lives and works dry stone walling in this glorious little corner of the world I can't tell you how lucky I feel come rain or shine to be in this landscape.

  • this deserves an awesome

but i wish the narrator was speaking in Yorkshire dialect!

  • Ohh! How I miss England, Yorkshire tels the tale. I miss them beautiful views. haven't been back home for quite a long time.

  • Im from Portugal and im going to work in a Small Hotel in Yorkshire, and as far that i can see it seems to be a very lovely place to live and work, but is there some big citys near by? for example if i wanna go to a relatively big city do i have to travel a lot?

  • Yorkshire has a few major cities and towns worth visiting. Leeds being the best possibly. Other places of not: Sheffield? HULL(maybe not?) York, Huddersfield...

Also not far to Manchester another big city full of attractions etc

  • I like this documentary. Yorkshire is a special place. But I was thinking about what makes it so special and my questions have been more or less answered in this footage. I wish to spend some time there in the near future.

  • Thanks I was doing a school project and this really helped me out. ^_^

  • Ben visiting the dales all my life. I'm a Yorkshireman so I'm a bit bias but it's a fantastic place. Going on holiday in October for a week. Can't wait. Lots of walking with my sheepdog and plenty beers. Heaven.

  • Just returned from Yorkshire, and it is outstanding, beautiful countryside. Truly Gods Country, and matches and beats anywhere in the world.

There was one scene i looked down at on Sutton Bank, and the way the sun came down on it was similair to Switzerland countryside. Loved Yorkshire, cant wait to get back there.

  • i'm sure God had a special smile upon England when He created the world. thanks for sharing this video.

i'm sooooo longing to visit this beautiful country again.

  • Oh this is so beautiful- how can anyone not love this part of the world? It is unbelievably scenic!!I agree, with the comment below- pity it was not read by a true old Yorkshireman!!!But it is still beautiful nevertheless- thank you for this lovely landscape.

  • Instead of having some snotty southerner commentating this video, they should have had a true Yorkshireman telling us about the land he is native to.

  • We have been making DVD films for 12 years and our viewers prefer a clearly spoken voiceover, uncorrupted by regional accents which some people such as hard of hearing or overseas vistors find difficult to understand.

The narrator is in fact from Oldham in Lancashire, and certainly not a 'snotty southerner' as you put it, so I am not sure why you can hear a southern accent?

  • you got a lancastrian to do something on yorkshire??

what is the world coming to...

  • they should have geoffrey boycott or mick mccathy doing commentary on this video, that would be the icing on the cake.

  • I have a chance to live there, but hafta wait. My fiance was born there and still lives there....I have been there twice but missed out on seeing the Moors and the Dales both times. Maybe in the next 6 to 10 years I will be living there and can have it all at my back door. Even though I missed out on those treasures, what I DID see of York was really nice. So different from here in Dallas, Texas. I'll have another visit in a few months. See you then. :-)

  • Amazing landscapes. England is very beautiful!

  • 4 years ago I travelled there for the first time and not a day goes by that I don't think about it and long to be there again.

  • Comment removed

  • they try and make wakefield into somat its not by exspanding it, its spoilt with all the immigrants anyway so why they bothering, am not gonna argue with u , it is a dump ur right and bradford is worse,

  • My comment was directed towards that particular area of Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales and Moors. I have not spent much time in West Yorkshire so wouldn't comment on that area. I have travelled quite a bit throughout the UK and fully realize there are areas of great beauty and areas that are essentially slums. The beauty of North Yorkshire is recognized by people all over the world, I'm just one of those lucky enough to have gotten to experience it. It's that beauty that I remember and miss.

  • Yorkshire really is God's Country.

  • Yorkshire is beautiful, England is beautiful.

  • I have the great good fortune to live not a 20 min bike ride from some of the view depicted here. Moving to Yorkshire from London some years ago was the best days work I ever did.

    Great clip

  • I,ve travelled the world, but home is Yorkshire. It,s where the heart is. It,s where the magic is.

  • I wish I was there, rather than here.

    :(

  • My dream is to see Yorkshire, and I hope that my dream will come true during september 2008. And that video obout Yorkshire dales is so beautiful.

  • My dream is to see Yorkshire, and I hope that my dream will come true during september 2008. And that video obout Yorkshire dales is so beautiful.

  • Great video, shows the best of the dales.

  • wow, i have to visit before i die!

  • aye you do i live there

  • This is truly one of the most beautiful places it the world and I live there.

  • I went some years ago in a hired car in winter. We truly love Yorkshire.

  • Whenever I drive into the Dales I feel like I'm at my spiritual home. Fab video.

  • Yorkshire has a beauty that is all it's very own. I have been to many places but to me there is just no place like Yorkshire.Glad I can come on You Tube and see videos like this, thanks a lot

  • I live in yorkshire :)

  • Beautiful

  • Yorkshire dales is indeed gorgeous, 3rd most gorgeous place in England behind Dartmoor in Devon and The Forest of Dean in Gloucs.

  • *Garsdale ;)

  • I've been to a few of those places :)

We go on holiday to the same place every year, (Garsadle) and I adore it. They have some of the most dramatic sunsets and I try to capture them on disposable camera ! I'm only 15, so those of you that think the young ones "don't get it" - well, that's not quite true.

  • Live in South America which has some far more dramatic scenery but the Dales is outstanding for charming beauty. It mixes character, warmth and wildness in the right measure; not twee like the Cotswolds. Glencoe is great but diferent; it is less human. As the video says, the presence of man is important to the charm of the Yorshire Dales. Truly unique, beautiful place.

  • Ah, wonderful Yorkshire. Southerners don't understand beauty when they see it!

  • They have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Of this there is no question. And I am next to the Rocky Mountains. Wow!

  • The younger ones obviously don't 'get it'- they will - there's something English and homely about the dales.

The lakes and Scotland have more dramatic mountains and I love exploring them too, but the dales has more character with more to explore in such a small area.

  • I actually live there - I live in Masham, and used to live in Harrogate. Do I miss it? You've got to be kidding! Studying in Cornwall at the moment, one of the most stunning areas of the country, and I miss the Dales like hell. But not Harrogate, where I spent 16 of my 20 years. Harrogate smells.
