  • @alleseigentlich Fuck off, they dont sing perfectly on the albums either, thats one of the things that makes them a decent band. That was a great performance

  • So realistic. [Thnkx Apple for showing me this song]

  • wow wtf dissapointing... he sings a lot worse live

  • @cardmastertj well whatever it is, its wank.

  • Why have they got 2 guitarists now?

  • @jt93guitar because the other's Jonny Marr, who now helps write the songs

  • I would love to call The Cribs my favorite band but sadly, I only enjoy this album =/

  • One of the greatest songs released by the Cribs, Marr only makes them better.

  • @chillyramune fook yea!!!!

  • still can't find the song i heard on the radio, there where alot of bends in there any idea cribs fans? i mean after every word ha nah serious ?

  • one of my favourite songs of theirs of all time, seeing them at oxegen and reading cant wait

  • Let's not forget Gary he is playing a good bass and providing some vocals at the same time no one can do that except STING.

  • @the7thmexican erm, Sting is amazing, but he's not the only bassist who sings...

  • @joeisaflyingfish david summers does that too

  • @the7thmexican indeed, sting plays fretless bass and sings! (or he used to anyway)

  • Its almost like they dont enjoy playing

  • They are a great bunch of lads, met them the other day at the bar a work at in Leeds called "ESCOBAR"

  • @SkinsSkater a bit weird that you know that lol

  • I love the cribs and they can make such a great wall of sound with only 3 of them. My band actually just wrote a song that we thought sounded like this one mixed with Jacqueline by franz ferdinand so we called it I'm a Jacqueline. We played it at a battle of the bands and we won first place. I'd love to hear what cribs fans think of it. If your interested in sparing a bit of time just search

    An Island's View - I'm a Jacqueline

another song i'm proud of is

    An Island's View - Cute

  • He can play quite complex guitar parts whilst singing.

  • @bradleymuffins Yes, that always surprises me. His playing is also very smart. Sometimes he plays really easy parts, yet very catchy.

  • @bradleymuffins Not that complex, but yeah it is unique to see someone playing lead guitsr riffs while singing.

  • @bradleymuffins you should listen to muse

  • @bradleymuffins

True...but he cant sing very well.

  • @bradleymuffins totally dawg, hes a regular thomas erak :P

  • @bradleymuffins admittedly, its not that complex, but it is bloody difficult to sing over while playing it

  • @bradleymuffins True story....I can't never play Cribs songs and sing them at the same time....

  • just saw them play in NZ!

  • lucky you bud, they canceled Christchurch waaaaaahh

  • How Does It Work Live Now They've Got Jonny Like On Older Songs, Does He Just Play Chords Over It Or What ?

I Meant To See Them At The Corn Exchange But I Was Sick

  • mtv live sessions has cribs live with marr :)

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • you mean the cribs? its not the cribs with marr, johnyy is part of the band!

  • is it weird that they're identical and yet there's a cute one?

  • i'm a realist

    i'm a romantic

    i'm a livin' sausage

    XD

  • Jajajaja.... You are so Fucking stupid..

    jajaja.. Really stupid...jajajajaja

  • Nooo!! The Cribs are really good but they're not better than the strokes

  • @trendifying couldn't be more wrong mate

  • @xOEHLALA i love both bands but how are they strokes wannabe's ?

  • They can make such a good sound live for only 3 of them. I'm trying to get my band to make a big sound as well for only 3 of us. I'd love to hear what people think.

    Just search

An Island's View - A song for the pretty blonde girl in the smoking section

    or

An Island's View - You've Got It wrong

  • One of the guys voices is absolutely terrible live, but recorded it sounds good

  • this song pretty much sums up my personality! lol

  • Really good live.

  • i'm a red

  • great song to cheer u up.

  • mce61, you're talking shit.

  • fuck off.

  • <3 <3 <3 <3

  • when theyre not drunk off their asses and kicking their amps over, they put on a pretty solid live performance

  • agredd, and when they are, its as funny as fuck.

  • god jonny marr changed them loads dont really like the new album at all tbh lol

  • Johny Marr made'em grown mature, so they go down on the history as a legendary band!

  • agreed, seems like they have went down a political ideal route rather then singing about people they meet. Cheat on me was perhaps they're last hurah for me before Marr ruined it.

I know they all say he hasnt influenced but the hasn't been such a big difference between they're albums since the 1st and secound, and then it was only melony not lyricaly

  • yup you hit the nail on the head there, glad im not the only one who thinks so xD

  • Usually I would agree that adding a new guitarist this late in the band's career would fuck up the sound since the Cribs are nothing like The Smiths or Modest Mouse and theyre the only styles that Johnny plays, but because they brought in Alex Kapranos to produce the album, I think they reigned him in pretty well and the new sound doesnt fall far from where the band was headed before the additions

  • i think the sound isnt so energetic any more tho, they were a fun happy band with jump about songs but the new album is the complete opposite, really slow and mellow ya know, kinda like the smiths but the smiths were good :))

  • Totally wrong about Marr being able to play only style

  • you can see the transition from the energy of The New Fellas to the mellowness of this album... It's made them sound more like the smiths and modest mouse, and the common denominator is Marr. There's nothing wrong with having a distinctive style, and I think it improved the Cribs alot. I'm sure he CAN play other stuff, but you cant deny his stylistic influence here

  • I don't think the new album is what I'd call mellow what so ever, musically it is a world more mature, but stylistically incredibly the same, Johnny Marr is a chameleon player, he blends in with the group and does whats required, you can't say they sound more like The Smiths and Modest Mouse, because The Smiths and Modest Mouse sound nothing like the same, Marrs playing with both groups is totally different

  • @Renegademaster15 I completely agree with you but it has to be said that they've adapted a lot to marr's style of guitar playing. It's exxxxtreeeeemely clear on we share the same skies and on his guitar part on cheat on me, (not ryan jarman's part.) I love pre-marr the cribs and i love the cribs with johnny, i saw them live at reading 2010 and was chanting his name the whole time but their style HAS changed, and Marr's guitar playing has influenced them, for the better, i think.

  • @thumby1212 How do they sound like Modest Mouse?? The guitar work, lyrics, tempo is all different. I do agree that they sound alot different with Marr in the band tho.

  • @imjohnandyouare In specifics, you're right. The sound that they've adopted is different but still unique. The overall style that they've gravitated towards has become more like modest mouse though. It now emulates space rock like modest mouse does more than it emulates post punk like early cribs did.

  • LOVE DA OPANING LINES :D ^^

  • the cribs tomorrow los angeles roxy!!!!

  • fuck yesss!!

  • that hapenned ages ago like 3 months ago

  • is with em indefinitely? or just to help produce a new album??

  • definatly they said s when i met them in brighton

  • i like the fact they are not very popular to the main stream

i feel like i have a better conection with the band

and when a band gets really famous they can turn big headed and their music is affected because of this

  • Yeah, well, you know what? You don't. Grow up.

  • Saw them Wednesday just gone at Southampton Guildhall. AMAZING.

  • Respect for how well Ryan plays the guitar with this.

  • better than neither, still pretty GOOD though
