i was there that night too.....and about fell to pieces when Mathis began to sng YELLOW ROSES ON HER GOWN -- it's simply one of the best songs ever -- bar none, like who is this writer.....not even friends at ASCAP can find it -- written and Mathis is at his most heartbreaking - astonishing in every way (and the reviewers singled this amazing song too)
i never thought i could see this again-i was there in 1997-there was a shirley bassey adver.outside carnegie hall-and i remember every moment of this concert!
@hollbri2 Hello! It was so nice talking to you yesterday on this faboluos concert Johnny had in Manchester!
I am still not down on earth again. I can still hear his beautiful voice in my ears, and see his beautiful appearances for my eyes. I love this man so much. (Caterina Walente) No.....Berit.
unbelievably beautiful song, with lyrics that goes right into the heart. He once said that this song very well could be one from his own life. I love the way he speaks
abouth his parents and his family. He is a wonderful person inside and outside.
Tank you again. And ipstock..... the name is Agosthino dos Santos.

Correct, Berit
Agostinho dos Santos was a very good friend of Johnny´s. Unfortunately he died in a plane crash in Paris in 1973.

What a treat here, Johnny does a good job on this sad but beautiful song, thanks for sharing it with us. I'd love to hear him at Carnegie Hall.
