  • I used to look out at the night, enjoy the lights when mom played this record because I loved it so much. Today in 2012, Garage Rock is still rocking whether it's the garage or whether it's outdoors, indoors.....people love it. GARAGE ROCK - ROCKIN THE WORLD TILL THE END OF TIME. Bobby Vee - adorable, talented and great material. thumbs up.

  • ive always loved the quote 'the night has a thousand eyes' from the books NIGHTWORLD :)

  • hmm , wake up litttle susie??

  • He's hot he is so cute

  • Pineal Gland the pine cone spinning top see Manly P Hall endocrine system and bodily equilibrium. The Pineal all seeing eye . Evolution rudiment organs merry merry happy happy Christmas

  • It's a good song....

  • Check out the HD scopitone video version here on youtube. The sound is excellent. Great song!

  • This is a better version of Bobby Vee beautiful song there are more versions. The musical roundabouts keep churning out the music. It very much relies on which version ones been weened on. This is nice.

  • love it

  • Where are you now, Julie Monterey?

  • This is an awesome hit and all these young couples need to take this to heart!!!!

  • I'm a young man and I love rock and roll

  • This isn't 'Right' as I remember it. His voice isn't IT !! Try again!

  • suena agradable.. llegue aqui buscando la de Coltrane... y la encontre, pero me dio curiosidad escuchar esta

  • wasnt this acountry song for connie smith as well

  • MsArrow313 I agree with 73soulboy. This music has a melody and tells a story. This is Real Music!!!

  • im a 15-year-old black girl. when classmates hear me listening to this at school, they tell me i'm crazy. i say "why? because i love REAL music?"

  • @MsArrow313 You go girl, I love it that you're so young ,but like this.Glad you don't let your classmates tell you what to listen to!Pax to all from73soulboy.Xxx.

  • @MsArrow313 well im white, but ditto! people are like what kind of music is that? and im like " the good kind!"

  • @MsArrow313

don't mind them, young lady - it shows, you have a good taste. I was 17 or 18, when Bobby had his best time. My teenage-years were simply great. My tip for you: Listen to John D. Loudermilks "Angela Jones" - my all-time-favourite. Bye ... take care !

  • @MsArrow313 Don't worry, you are not alone. This is back when music was still really good!

  • @spraymalathionjerry This was a good song....I agree with you!

  • @MsArrow313 You're right! For a real person it's important to listen to something YOU really like not the stuff TV&Radio make you listen to. Commercial music is soulless. 1960s had the best music ever! I've always listened to the Beatles, Elvis and all the team. Good luck

  • @MsArrow313 why did you feel the need to tell us you are black your a 15 year old girl not a colour

  • @MsArrow313 Compared to rap (which I assume is what your classmates listen to), taped shitting noises might be considered "music."

That being said, congrats on your good taste in music!

  • 1963

  • the night has a thousand PIES i keep singing to my fat mate

  • @southlondon63 I'm sure he/she appreciates it.

  • A Top 5 hit for Bobby Vee in January 1963. It also did well on the Rhythm & Blues charts, the Easy Listening (Adult Contemporary) charts, and in the United Kingdom.

  • my mums fav .

  • i love this song im only 13 but motown is better

  • I'm gonna see Bobby Vee tomorrow! He must be 130, but I can't wait!

  • @iriszkovacs - yeah, some just don't get it. Never mind. There's plenty who do.

  • I have another version of this song - this goes back a way, but I always adored this song. What a terrific song. Thank you for the post.

  • Love it! Although, the brilliance that is my job is celebrating the decades it's been in business, and it's currently playing 50s music, but this song plays. Wrong, Work. Wrong! Lol. Thanks for uploading this! :)

  • I love Bobby Vee's music. I was very proud to show it to my friend, but she said me: "WHAT THE HACK IS THIS?! Irisz, GET A LIFE and listen REAL music." I'm sad she can't see the reality behind this "stars" of today's music buissness...

  • @iriszkovacs

Lol! I would have been like "Biatch, get out of my house D8<!" XD.

  • one of my favourites

  • Nice job on this audio/video. Imho, one of the better early 60's songs. Regards, '62 Mathew St. (Total Retro Rock)

  • SUPERB

  • One Fantastic Song A Great Singer Just a wonderful time in the History of Rock

  • Earl Palmer was the session drummer according to the union contract.

  • @veefriends you are one of the very few that knows this fact.....i don't know who started the rumor, alot of people say it was hal blaine.......that WAS the late MR. EARL PALMER.....thank you for posting this

  • this is a brill track !! 5*'s

  • Earl Palmer played drums on this

  • @veefriends : I've been trying to find out which drummer sat in on this recording for some time now. I looked on another website to verify if Palmer was in fact the drummer in this song, but couldn't verify it. No doubt about it, the drummer in this one did a phenomenal job, excellent feel, and rhythm. Do you have any links that could verify that Palmer was indeed the drummer? Thank you.

  • @terrafirma91 please visit earls web page to see his discography......he never received the credit he truly deseverves.....

  • bobby Vee was an underrated singer. A very talented man who was drowned out by The Beatles.

  • 50's and 60's....just the best musical era ever. It was the time when youth found it's voice!

  • wow! what a great blast from the past - I totally sang right along - can't believe I still know the words back from when I was a kid and took a fancy to this song!

    Thanks!

  • @DaisyJaynne I know!! I used to play this when I was a kid and my mom would take us to this 50s themed restaurant. I guess I have been the same person since I was 10 or so (I'm now 37). I heard this song played at work live by Bobby's son Robby and instantly was brought back to that 50s themed restaurant and knew all the words. Such great memories.

  • This is one fantastic song.

    Great Listing

    Thank you

  • The night does have a thousand eyes believe me

  • it's not that the person in the song is stalking, it's that if she lies, chances are it will get back to him because people will see her lies and talk. It's a reminder that lies come back and bite you in the ass basically.

  • i sang this at Karaoke for the first time Sat night...nice upbeat tune, crowd liked it..its a keeper!!! :)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! THIS REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST JOB, WHEN I WAS AT A MCDONALDS IT WAS A 1950'S THEMED DINER! I LOVE THE MUSIC THEY PLAYED, BUT HATED WORKING THERE...

  • The drums are infectious like mice in the spine. A positive frenzy!

  • driving down Woodward Avenue in Detroit blasting this song .

    it was heaven.

  • Me too!

  • This record will forever be burned into my psyche in conjunction with--and linked to--Julie Monterey. Both were happening at the same time. One could be imprinted by worse.

  • One of the great pop recordings of all time.

  • Tee hee hee. I love this song!

  • bobby vee always in our mind.

  • One of my favs, Got his break when the legendary Buddy Holly's plane crashed. Had a string of hits a mile long!

  • before i was born , unlucky me !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now this guy is a REAL artist. not like the "artists" of today's generation. All they focus on is sex and the video

  • @TrevorThornley12 I'll assume you're referring to the mainstream, as you so offhandedly dismissed all the talent not on a major label but let me get to the marrow of the issue, that today's artists only focus on sex and the video. Assuming that was the correct (it isn't) it still doesn't say a damn thing about the actual quality. I mean Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing falls into that category too you know.

You're allowed to dislike modern music, but I'd prefer it if your reasons made sense.

  • @darthkrueger The reason is that the video aspect of modern music has let the music biz package sub-par music in a shinier, flashier wrapping. "Suits" of earlier eras did try to peddle mediocre music (e.g., payola) but they were bribing DJs to get those songs on the radio; strictly the radio.

Bands of earlier eras had no benefit like MTV or YouTube. They had to tour and appear on TV variety shows. The road to success has become much wider, and is crowded with fad-supported weak music.

  • @57highland exactly! and also groups back then had to have talent. they didnt have autotune or computers. now anyone could be a singer... its sad.

  • @oldsoul4475 Thanks for your support. It's rare that anyone agrees with me anymore. (It's an "age" thing, I guess.)

  • @oldsoul4475 welcome. i hate my generation of music. i wish i couldve grown up back then

  • @TrevorThornley12 " AMEN !!! " YOU HIT THAT DEAD ON THE HEAD!!! I'll shake yer hand on that sir!!!!

  • Classic! Love it.

  • This great song reached #3 in early 1963. (U.S., Billboard)

  • very good times, and very good life.

  • Bobby Vee had some great songs in my first two years of high school and then came the British Invasion and these good pop singers had a hard time of it.

  • Yes...the Brits came in but believe it or not there were still a few of us who NEVER gave up on our very own music. And Rock and Roll IS as American as Baseball

  • Bobby Vee had a magical voice that was truly original. May his songs live on forever.

  • I love this song. He had so many hits. I don't know which I like the best but this sure is one of his very best. I also love "Charms".
