I used to look out at the night, enjoy the lights when mom played this record because I loved it so much. Today in 2012, Garage Rock is still rocking whether it's the garage or whether it's outdoors, indoors.....people love it. GARAGE ROCK - ROCKIN THE WORLD TILL THE END OF TIME. Bobby Vee - adorable, talented and great material. thumbs up.

This is a better version of Bobby Vee beautiful song there are more versions. The musical roundabouts keep churning out the music. It very much relies on which version ones been weened on. This is nice.
@MsArrow313 You go girl, I love it that you're so young ,but like this.Glad you don't let your classmates tell you what to listen to!Pax to all from73soulboy.Xxx.
don't mind them, young lady - it shows, you have a good taste. I was 17 or 18, when Bobby had his best time. My teenage-years were simply great. My tip for you: Listen to John D. Loudermilks "Angela Jones" - my all-time-favourite. Bye ... take care !
@MsArrow313 You're right! For a real person it's important to listen to something YOU really like not the stuff TV&Radio make you listen to. Commercial music is soulless. 1960s had the best music ever! I've always listened to the Beatles, Elvis and all the team. Good luck
A Top 5 hit for Bobby Vee in January 1963. It also did well on the Rhythm & Blues charts, the Easy Listening (Adult Contemporary) charts, and in the United Kingdom.
Love it! Although, the brilliance that is my job is celebrating the decades it's been in business, and it's currently playing 50s music, but this song plays. Wrong, Work. Wrong! Lol. Thanks for uploading this! :)
I love Bobby Vee's music. I was very proud to show it to my friend, but she said me: "WHAT THE HACK IS THIS?! Irisz, GET A LIFE and listen REAL music." I'm sad she can't see the reality behind this "stars" of today's music buissness...
@veefriends you are one of the very few that knows this fact.....i don't know who started the rumor, alot of people say it was hal blaine.......that WAS the late MR. EARL PALMER.....thank you for posting this
@veefriends : I've been trying to find out which drummer sat in on this recording for some time now. I looked on another website to verify if Palmer was in fact the drummer in this song, but couldn't verify it. No doubt about it, the drummer in this one did a phenomenal job, excellent feel, and rhythm. Do you have any links that could verify that Palmer was indeed the drummer? Thank you.
this song meaning a wife who went late night party the husband said come back soon as possible . classic meaning classic song favourites of bobby vee.
wow! what a great blast from the past - I totally sang right along - can't believe I still know the words back from when I was a kid and took a fancy to this song!
@DaisyJaynne I know!! I used to play this when I was a kid and my mom would take us to this 50s themed restaurant. I guess I have been the same person since I was 10 or so (I'm now 37). I heard this song played at work live by Bobby's son Robby and instantly was brought back to that 50s themed restaurant and knew all the words. Such great memories.
it's not that the person in the song is stalking, it's that if she lies, chances are it will get back to him because people will see her lies and talk. It's a reminder that lies come back and bite you in the ass basically.
I LOVE THIS SONG! THIS REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST JOB, WHEN I WAS AT A MCDONALDS IT WAS A 1950'S THEMED DINER! I LOVE THE MUSIC THEY PLAYED, BUT HATED WORKING THERE...
This record will forever be burned into my psyche in conjunction with--and linked to--Julie Monterey. Both were happening at the same time. One could be imprinted by worse.
@TrevorThornley12 I'll assume you're referring to the mainstream, as you so offhandedly dismissed all the talent not on a major label but let me get to the marrow of the issue, that today's artists only focus on sex and the video. Assuming that was the correct (it isn't) it still doesn't say a damn thing about the actual quality. I mean Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing falls into that category too you know.
You're allowed to dislike modern music, but I'd prefer it if your reasons made sense.
@darthkrueger The reason is that the video aspect of modern music has let the music biz package sub-par music in a shinier, flashier wrapping. "Suits" of earlier eras did try to peddle mediocre music (e.g., payola) but they were bribing DJs to get those songs on the radio; strictly the radio.
Bands of earlier eras had no benefit like MTV or YouTube. They had to tour and appear on TV variety shows. The road to success has become much wider, and is crowded with fad-supported weak music.
Bobby Vee had some great songs in my first two years of high school and then came the British Invasion and these good pop singers had a hard time of it.
Yes...the Brits came in but believe it or not there were still a few of us who NEVER gave up on our very own music. And Rock and Roll IS as American as Baseball
