Actually it is quite common in the smaller towns also to give high priority to bicycle transport.
When all is said, even if Denmark is quite flat, I live in Aalborg, which you should try and see the altitude maps for.. That is perhaps not the WIllamette but it has the local wind to take into account. Making even the proffesional bicyclers complain about the ride when touring Denmark
Nope, born and raised in Denmark, I did not see any info that was not right on. He should have filmed in the Summer time though, lots of nice looking "bikers" to look at......
It's true that the car Supertax is only 180%, but there is also a 25% VAT (Value Added Tax) that applies to ALL exchanges. The total of 205% doesn't really tell the whole story either. Danish Income Tax can be as high as 60% as well. Imagine: A car that has an initial pricetag of $33,000 will cost $100,000 to own and operate in Denmark. However a Dane would have to EARN $250,000 in order to have exactly enough money to buy the car. This of course leaves NOTHING for food, rent...
not true, you make is sound as if cars are reserved for higher class. Alot of people have cars, alot of people who dont have them can afford them. The mentality is different than that in america.
This is however no problem. As most banks arte afloat with money and easily is pursuaded to lend you the amount required. These loans are usually taking the average person up to 10 years to pay off, which also is close to the average time of possesing an automobile in Denmark, before buying a new one.
Suomen kaupungeista on tehty jättimäisiä parkkipaikkoja.
As a dane it's a little thought-provoking that this everyday situation is thought-provoking for others :-)
By the way during April-October, Copenhagen provides free-of-charge city bikes (you place $3 as deposit in the bike lock and get it back when placing the bike in one of the city-bike slot all over the city). The bikes are ugly, a little heavy and sponsored by companies - thus only seldom stolen.
Nice work. It should be noted that Denmark is a very flat place. Far less people would be willing to pedal an extra fifty pounds up from the WIllamette I think.
Denmark is a best example for the hole world....

As mentioned in the video the Danish tax for buying cars is 200%. That is incorrect - the tax is only 180%.

Yes, that's the whole point we're trying to make here, is that the mentality is different than in america. Thank you for reiterating that.

A) Tanskassa on tasaista.
B) Tanskassa talviolosuhteet ovat siedettävämmät kuin Suomessa.
C) Helpostipa sinua hävettää. Olisikohan itsetunnossa korjaamisen varaa?
