Excellent run through the game, I watched the whole thing and just like many others
could not get past stage one. I played the Ghouls and ghosts on Sega Gen and could easily get to the final stage so I was definately surprised by how difficult this game is
@MrNuts70 I'd definitely say Ghouls n' Ghosts is the easiest of the 4 games after playing through all of them. This series is what made love torturing myself with hard-as-nails videogames!

@TheExectorBr If you downloaded it you pressumably used an emulator, right? Normally SNES emulators have an option called "save state". You can use that to get through the entire game. It makes it way easier. Good luck.

@XxDarkSonicxX If you watch the pattern of the boss carefully, it rly IS easy.
The weapon he uses is "the bracelet" you can only get it after beating the first round of the game and go back to the beginning. After that you'll need the golden armor and the blue shield to have a chance getting it in a chest.
But the weapon is not that great... Without full armor it's firing range is pretty small and the damage is low. With the golden armor the range increases and it can destroy some projectiles.

I was pissed when I found out I had to go all the way back and start over to find the bracelet. After the stage select code showed up, I loaded the next stage and finished the game with a regular weapon. You don't NEED the bracelet to kill him, but you need it to get to him.
@imbabomba I'll admit that I had to use save states from the very beginning of each level to get my (nearly) perfect run of this game. Given how difficult the ghosts n' goblins series is, I'm sure most people can understand.
Holy shit what the hell is that weapon it kicks ass xD I don't remember using it. I only got to the boss part 1 time in my life, the previous levels were so hard it got frustrating. I was diying of epilepsy when I killed the final boss
@Silverballer45ACP It's the Goddess Bracelet, and you can only find it in the second trip through the stages (if my memory is good it's in the first chest after you find the Sun Shield).
This game is typical Capcom...gamer's games all the way. Some of the boss battles are a letdown, yes, but honestly, after what you have to do to get to them, it's probably only fair that some of them give the player a breather. Great game regardless.
@Raseal0 Regardless, the series itself is known as Ghosts n' Goblins. I'm not sure why they made the second game called Ghouls n' Ghosts. The third game (this one) kept that title, and, the fourth game for psp went back to calling it ghosts n' goblins.

@Gamemaker125487 Oh, I've played it before. It's a great game no doubt, I just can't afford the arcade PCB (costs hundreds) and I'm not into emulation. I'll definitely end up with the Super NES version or arcade PCB at some point. Never thought I'd be able to afford a Strider board either, but I came across one for $80 and snatched it up. The G n' G series is better known than Strider though so it's less likely that a steal will come up.
@42ndIcicle Unfortunately, I'm not. I just got Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins a couple days ago. Ultimate mode is incredibly difficult from the start. And by incredibly difficult, I mean I can't even reach a mid-point on the first level.
You can actually defeat Sardius with just the regular knife (the one you start the game with) if you use the level select code. You'll start right at Sardius with only the knife. I recently found this out and was shocked. I won the game for the first time EVER.
Classic... I finally beat this game back in the day on the SNES, but it definitely wasn't on Pro mode. I remember leaving the game paused all night because I was so determined to come back the next day and finally finish it for ever.
@Gamemaker125487 Did you use a cheat code for Invincibility for this game because I notice when that boss was shooting those beams at you that you didnt lose your armor even once??
@CapcomXNamco914 Not at all. Did you know that Capcom made the ghosts n' goblins games VERY precise in their hit detection? there are certain spots things can hit you and you'll be fine, examples such as the boots.

to me these are the kind of games worth playing! What's the point of a game if it gives you no challenge? The difficult ones are the ones that give the most satisfaction for beating. And trust me: The NES version of this game is much much worse =P

That is getting off topic, but yeah this is a fun game otherwise, and fighting against Loki, but that is a completely different game Ghouls n' Ghosts.
When he shoots 2 flying disks from his stomach, jump on one of them and when you're in the air, shoot him. It's on the video. Just watch it again and you'll know how to defeat him
I beileve there is an "ultimate" mode on the game where it is just like the classic games with the two hits. Not sure thoug, I can't find the game =/ I do happen to have a psp now though.

yes, that's the unfortunate thing. now instead of difficulty and gameplay we have wars where all that really seems to matter to most people are the graphics. it kinda sickens me to be honest. Some of the low detail games are much better.
Sorry, don't have an Xbox360 =P but I have played games about the same difficulty: that is if ninja gaiden is as hard as it is described. However, i'm a much larger fan of 2D than 3D when it comes to videogames =P
oh my god ninja gaiden is insane.... its not just the fact that theres tons of shit going on at one time but the fact that ur health doesnt mean shit. bosses kill u in 4-5 hits and they hit fast as shit. some bosses are insane to try to dodge. so yea if u ever get a change to try it try it if not check some vids of it. Ninja gaiden 2 was harder then 1 i thought. but both were damn hard on the hardest difficulty. took many many retries. or u can try the nes one, its the same thing just not 3d.
yea, like it starts out all fine and dandy on the first one, all easy with hits and tutorials, but the second one starts out with u in the middle of a battle against like 10 dudes giving u hits while ur getting ur ass kicked.... took me a couple tries but I still remembered some of the buttons from the first one. I rent games like that because once i get to the point where its too agravating im glad that I have to return it in a few days =P. but yea def worth a try if u love a challenge.
meant to say hints for the 10 dudes sentence =P, but yea I also wanted to mention once you figure out the game it gets quite a bit easier i.e. dodging, counter attacking and whatnot. It helps but doesn't make it a walk in the park. Specially later in the game when your enemies become giant robots with rockets and people with machine guns in tight areas with landmines on the ground lol. They add every possible bitch move you can think of =P if you wanna put it that way.
its kinda funny how some bosses in old fashion games provided u with the tools to kick their asses
example: flying platforms so u can reach the head with the bracelet....what would we ever do if this guy just decided not to bust out plates from his crotch area haha
lol you kinda have to either way, unless you have the game boy advanced versian. it lets you get the bracelet before the last level, therefore making it easier
actually the trick to killing the red devils is easier than you think, you just sit there and when he swoops in to you, attack right before he touches you and the bracelet should one shot him.. :)
I cannot afford any recording software sadly. Although I did origonaly play Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts on the wii virtral console, i used an emulator for the recording.
I highly recremend this game and ghouls 'n ghosts, or ghosts 'n goblins. all 3 are the same series and are legendary in my opinion. I highly enjoy the challenge out of the games. so if you like horrifyingly hard games, yes
I have it on the wii virtral console and beat it myself there, then i recorded with emulator. i don't have any equipment to record off a screen. sorry XD

Yes, and I apologize for my if typo I get so worked up and mispell faster. So if I look at my keyboard sometimes I have a less chance of screwing up. That is getting off topic, but yeah this is a fun game otherwise, and fighting against Loki, but that is a completely different game Ghouls n' Ghosts.

When he shoots 2 flying disks from his stomach, jump on one of them and when you're in the air, shoot him. It's on the video. Just watch it again and you'll know how to defeat him

I have never played ultimate ghosts n' goblins due to the fact that it is a difficult to find game these days. and my psp is broken =/
I do not have a ps2. I have a ps3, but it doesn't have the potential to play ps2 games. So I can't play Kingdom Hearts.

Ultimate you can take multiple hits. This one you get 2 hits then you're dead. No way is Ultimate more difficult.

I beileve there is an "ultimate" mode on the game where it is just like the classic games with the two hits. Not sure thoug, I can't find the game =/ I do happen to have a psp now though.

yes, that's the unfortunate thing. now instead of difficulty and gameplay we have wars where all that really seems to matter to most people are the graphics. it kinda sickens me to be honest. Some of the low detail games are much better.

Sorry, don't have an Xbox360 =P but I have played games about the same difficulty: that is if ninja gaiden is as hard as it is described. However, i'm a much larger fan of 2D than 3D when it comes to videogames =P

oh my god ninja gaiden is insane.... its not just the fact that theres tons of shit going on at one time but the fact that ur health doesnt mean shit. bosses kill u in 4-5 hits and they hit fast as shit. some bosses are insane to try to dodge. so yea if u ever get a change to try it try it if not check some vids of it. Ninja gaiden 2 was harder then 1 i thought. but both were damn hard on the hardest difficulty. took many many retries. or u can try the nes one, its the same thing just not 3d.

yea, like it starts out all fine and dandy on the first one, all easy with hits and tutorials, but the second one starts out with u in the middle of a battle against like 10 dudes giving u hits while ur getting ur ass kicked.... took me a couple tries but I still remembered some of the buttons from the first one. I rent games like that because once i get to the point where its too agravating im glad that I have to return it in a few days =P. but yea def worth a try if u love a challenge.

meant to say hints for the 10 dudes sentence =P, but yea I also wanted to mention once you figure out the game it gets quite a bit easier i.e. dodging, counter attacking and whatnot. It helps but doesn't make it a walk in the park. Specially later in the game when your enemies become giant robots with rockets and people with machine guns in tight areas with landmines on the ground lol. They add every possible bitch move you can think of =P if you wanna put it that way.

actually the trick to killing the red devils is easier than you think, you just sit there and when he swoops in to you, attack right before he touches you and the bracelet should one shot him.. :)

I highly recremend this game and ghouls 'n ghosts, or ghosts 'n goblins. all 3 are the same series and are legendary in my opinion. I highly enjoy the challenge out of the games. so if you like horrifyingly hard games, yes
