What for: It was an advertisement for BLUETOOTH and you can see the they added special effects when the popcorn popped. Then they erased the seed to look real. Just like a microwave, but this is radio active. But good job xD

These seem to be Verizon phones.. CDMA is a different technology which switches frequencies rapidly.. GSM produces a stronger, permanent radiation on a single frequency which stimulates cells more from what I heard.. so it may work with GSM.. seems to work in other videos.. and def not harmless.. ; )

@AQA919 Yeah, and you need to be using the 900MHz band because commercial microwave ovens use 915 MHz.

A better test would be to use your wireless card or router at maximum strength, making sure it's using 802.11b or g. At 2.4GHz it is using the same frequency as your home microwave.

NO! It is not possible with only 4 Cellphones. A cellphone gives out only about 0.20-0.25W while a general microwave uses 750-1000W. 4 Cellphones equalling ca 1W is not going to generate enough heat to pop popcorns! And even if you would put 2-3000 cell phones together, the size of the phones themselves will make it impossible to focus the radiation close enough.

Pay attention.... They are calling verizon phones which use CDMA which is a lower bandwitdth than GSM, which is used in all of the videos where there is actually popcorn that pops. The French and Japanese versions both have GSM phones, which have a higher bandwidth, and thus create more focused microwaves. Trust me, I work for a cell phone company.

this is possibly not fake. if any of you were smart enough to check the electromagnetic spectrum, u would know that microwaves use two different kinds of waves EHF(Extremely high frequency), which run at 300 GHz and have a length of 1mm, and SHF(super high frequency), which run at 30 GHz and have a length of 1cm

radio waves have a very close frequency in some cases, because they vary, anwhere from thousands of meters to one millimeter. i dont know what cells use but amplified by 4. its plausible

If I'm walking down a nature trail, fall, and break my leg I would use my cell phone.
