@ViciousCritique If you recall, the end of the movie had the remnants of the Russian Airforce, the combined might of the Arab-Israeli airforces, European airforces, Asian and South American forces all working together. Not in the same battle, but initiating a world wide offensive. The Russians were obviously not useless then, they just weren't shown when the battle was raging.

@ViciousCritique Novel was better though. 150 aircraft in this attack, about 90 of them relics with no ammo, including an old P-51. They all volunteered to draw off the alien fighters to give the armed jets a chance. That's some fucking bravery there.
