Yay for video! About percentages on Dreamcast, they modify the total damage you do, after all other variables- your own ATP, shifta, enemy's defence, etc. are taken into account, so if you normally hit 100 damage with a weapon, equip the same weapon with 40% to the area, and you'll hit 140. To balance it out a little, the max percent findable on v.1 and v.2 is 60%. Also a lot of weapons have high base ATA, so hit percent is less valuable. I know this from forum posts; I never played it myself.
@UndefeatedOfTheWest Close, but the damage % on the weapons doesn't modify the damage you deal. They modify ATP. For the Dreamcast days, the weapon's % would raise your total ATP by that amount, so a high % weapon would actually allow you to damage enemies you were doing very little to before. 50% Native with a total ATP of 1000 would give you 1500 ATP. Post-DC, the % only modified the weapon's ATP, so 100% Native to a weapon with 100 ATP would be like you equipped a weapon with 200 ATP.
@AionicDuck Thanks, so what you're saying is that percentages modify ATP, but other things act on that ATP afterwards (not before), and once all other variables have come into play, it gets translated into damage?
@UndefeatedOfTheWest In the DC days I'm pretty sure your weapon's % was calculated last, so it had a pretty substancial effect with shifta and a strong mag. However, now that it only works on a weapon's ATP after the DC, I don't believe shifta or a mag would augment the weapon's ATP increase anymore.
at 1:27 just pull up the start menu and run straight through the traps. Just a tip :)

I'm just wondering why you use the soul eater as your main weapon, cause I use a buster +10 at level 18 and hit really close to your hits now.
