  • I'm 19, live in UK and theres a certain car that I crave for. Goes by the nickname of the "goat"... Quite a lot of my friends want old muscle cars. Training to be a pilot so maybe in a few years time I can have one.

  • Very well said my brother! True words indeed

  • Regulations killed the glory days you talk of. Imagine driving round in a 7 litre v8 with massive fenders on now would that meet efficiency and safety regs?

  • watching this video makes me glad that in my family its my turn to have the 35 ford truck thats been in my family for 40 plus years and im only 17 and that i just got a 71 chevelle ss that im not afraid to go out and smoke the damn imports in the streets running 9.50s all muscle maxed out as munch as i can

  • That's what I ask myself?! :((

  • i agree! you go to the show room it would have huge bed sheets stitched together so it would cover all the glass then the owner of the place would come out and say "today i give you ................. the plymouth road runner!!!" and all the people would run in with drool down there faces with the ooohhhs and aaaahhs

then again things have to be "safe" i agree K.I.S.S keep it simple stupid roll up windows fiberglass interior analog gauges no accesories the only thing distracting you is the v8!

  • I think it's funny he talks smack about "composite" vehicles while he shows a corvette.

  • muscle cars are fun. I used to have a integra all i did was speed on road, now i have a roadrunner its higher off the ground and i have been offroading in it way better.

  • @unbeatenMMArtist24

i dont care how long ago this was road runner? as an offroader you fucking know how great that thing is think your not going to find one in what a show room no!!! you destroy it welp there it gos never to be seen again! je.........sus!

  • "they're gonna sound like blenders goin down the road" *makes buzzing noise*

    ROFLMFAO

  • What happened to cars like these? The PEOPLE changed, not the manufacturers. Back then people wanted to be inspired by cars, they wanted a new car purchase to be an event. Now they simply want the most efficient, cheapest, dullest, most "hum drum" way to get from point a to b. A car is simply a tool to get the chore of commuting done to them, nothing more. It's sad.

  • Sure, I can clearly see how inspirational these 60's cars are.

But now the trade-off for sexy cars is a technological upbringing.

Nowadays it's not about the cars, it's about the technology and the environment.

Trust me, I have a 1972 Datsun 240z in the restoration process. It's beautiful, it's harsh, it's raw. I'm disappointed no cars since the emissions laws have ever been anything like my Datsun, but I sort of understand that the industries are in a pickle.

  • Fords are too Comerialized too many sensors that go wrong I had a Ford 97 never again.Carburator and Points are the way to go.Simple to work on...

In the Auto instrustry I see like an example why did they change the timing belt from Chain to Rubber cause Chains last forever comparing to the rubber belts 91 Acura only last 60-90thousand miles before it brakes down. They know what they are doing. Gm has it under control where you can not fix your car at home you have to bring it to the dealer!!

  • classic cars are wayyy better than the pieces of shit theyve got today... Im working on a 74 charger and my ultimate dream is a 76 plymouth 'cuda

  • i couldn't agree more it's true that today they give the youth nothing to dream about than fancy cars and the youth falls for it letting the thru car loving die and forgetting what it was to really have fun instead of showing of who has the most expensive one It's not explainable can the youth imagine starting a project with dad or friends on a bentley highly doubt it it doesn't make sense keep on hot rodding and keep the spirit alive!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck dude I feel like sometimes I am alone but dude seeing these things makes me wanna cry im 17 and building a 72 cutlass S and my absolute dream car would be a 72 barracuda or cuda like the one my dad used to have. I would make love to all these cars and all old cars they are soo amazing.

  • Couldn't agree more mate.

  • damn right dude... im 16 and muscle cars, classic cars, lead sleds, hot rods, rat rods, anything simple that goes fast or looks like a REAL Automotive piece that took TIME and EFFORT to produce is the type of cars i like... now a days the view of company executives has changed, all they thing about is mpg's and heated leather seats, and ipod dock connectors... what happened to the stripped-light car with the big engine? a car with zero options that you could drive around and have FUN with?

  • very true dude i'm 17 been saving my money up since i was like 10 for a car and been working for my parents washing cars in my neigbor hood and got a job when i was 15 but i finally got a 2008 Mustang Bullitt (black) w/o the navi just want a stripped down car that was fast.

  • i just turnned 17 and i couldnt agree more

  • hey you mentioned the maverick :)

i have a maverick grabber and no one even talks about them so im glad to see you mention them :) and im 18 so most people htink its wierd ut many 18 yr olds had mavericks in the 70's!

oh and everything youre syaing in this video is like my religion.... i preach this stuff to all my friends. a couple have even "converted"

  • Its because american car companies make crap cars. And even if there are still many people too stupid to buy bad products, they(the motor co.s) werent ready for people not being able to buy due to a recession/high oil prices. Just doesnt make sense to buy inferior american cars when better cars are getting made and imported for a little more money and better gas mileage.

  • Wrong. American cars were absolutley fine for their time, back in the 60s. It was the government and it's ridiculous emissions policies that changed the development of automobiles.

The 70s and 80s saw the consequences, but not only in the States, there were PLENTY of terrible automobiles in Europe during those times as well. A secondary contributing factor, was this desire to expand on electronics, which is only now really coming into it's own as an industry standard.

  • i think its cuz now all the cheaper, smaller, more effcient cars from forgien countries ported to the usa were sold fast!
