Wow, the thumbnail for this video looks like something out of the Source engine (cs_militia on CSS, to be precise) and it has DMM in the title. Misleading! (Though I know you didn't mean for it to be. I'm just surprised by how computery this video looks at a glance).
@DerCorny like n every other part of life its just about training and passion + the learning curve in climbing/boulderin scales fast in the beginning im not as good as those guys but im gettin better everyday (starting climing in jan. 2010)
best retards luffy and sorry for my bad english im from austria
its used for both. if you use it to pull its because your doing a move that you cant go any farther without or your on smaller holds you cant get anything out so you use your heel like an extra hand and your legs are stronger than your arms
i was recently talking to someone who said he bouldered V4. I grade my bouldering by C [C1,C2,C3,C4,C5, etc] what's the difference and how would they be compared? PLEASEANSWER!!!
This video is superb. Some great problems including plenty of hard ones getting absilutely pissed. The fella (BB?) sails up White Wand and the method on Goliath's Groove was interesting!
they're on myspace... but they are not together anymore :( I'm trying like crazy to get a recording from somewhere but I'm finding no luck. If anyone has their music PLEASE CONTACT ME!
Come to Northern California....you'll have plenty more boulders to climb...in the mountains, and out by the ocean, oh and along the rivers too....plus great weather.
I used to live in Cali also :) A great spot to go bouldering if you are willing to drive a bit is Buttermilk, It's near Bishop California. Great place to boulder. :)
Most of it is shot in the Peak District National Park, UK, although the steep overhanging limestone cave is Parisella's Cave (Llandudno, North Wales).
awesome video. It really inspired me to go climbing. SO i am going to go tomorrow. Thanks DMM. I wouldn't mind seeing another video either 'hint hint' :P
Well when most people look up "DMM" videos they typically are looking for Digital Molecular Matter, which is a physics plugin for various programs such as Maya.
So when I found this, I hoping for physics footage, but instead found this rock climing video.
When I said "Those physics look so real!" I was making a joke directed towards all of us who were looking for Digital Molecular Matter.
There's two places that are similar: "The Ghetto"(up by the 3rd flatiron), and "The Barrio" (on the north side of Boulder Canyon Road, past Sufarloaf Road. It's behind the guardrail.) If you have the "Best of Boulder Bouldering" book their on pages 17 and 104. Happy climbing.
Find a local gym and talk with them, most gyms offer free safety class and like a first day demo so you can see if you like it before you jump into with alot of cash...you will love it though and will meet tons of cool people.
ya i would say go to a gym rent some shoes try it out and if you like it you can spend your money but it does get spendy. i mostly do bouldering though so you just need shoes and chalk.
It's by a band called Wire Jesus - they have a uk website if you google it, and a my space page, but the single hasn't been released yet. Send them an email!

Is the heel hook meant to grip/stabilize? or to help pull yourself up?
Sometimes i see people use a heel hook but they don't pull up with it. why?
