  • @channyandseddiefan who isnt? he always had the flippiest hair :)

  • This was a hit in 1959 by the Isley Brothers. "Twist and Shout" also was a hit by the Isley Brothers in 1962. The Beatles later covered both . "Shout" was written by the Isleys, while "Twist and Shout" was done first by a group called The Top Notes. Their version however, was not the basis for the Beatles' cover. It was radically different in it's interpretation. That was confirmed by John Lennon in an interview.

  • @emmettk

In turn, "Twist and Shout" is also a ripoff of "La Bamba". An awesome 'ripoff' but a stolen song non the less.

  • George singing sajdkagikjsdal;ga adorable.

  • This is awesome. So much fun.

  • It's alright for what it is, but it doesn't have the soul that the Isley Bros. had.

  • @fromolwyoming Your tellin me that RINGO DOESNT HAVE SOUL!?

  • @degodly Yep. He does pop and pop rock alright I suppose, but no, he really doesn't have "soul" so to speak.

  • Was this ever on one of their albums?

  • hasnt changed to now the girls still go nuts screaming like a retard^^

  • they killed it.......

  • everytime i think that i can never ever go to the real beatles concerts, it doesnt make me wanna shout :(

  • A bit tamer than the Isley Bros version

  • Wow they were amazing even thought they didn't sing live. Love ringo and his head boping/ awsome hair!!!

  • great!! they're such geniuses!

  • Could you tell me where I can download this song? PLEASE!!

  • @tenebrax

    thank you very much: D

    I didn't know about it;)

  • OH MY GOD. This is so adorable. George's head nod at 1:33 makes me melt.... :)))) SO cutee

  • Lol the beatles are not the original lol little Richards the original and always will be... N he's better than beatles... They have no soul!

  • If you don't like the Beatles then your not American nor human

  • @xXsf49ersXx ..... the beatles are british

  • @snakeyes250 And how does that matter ? Americans cant like a British band ?

  • at first i wasnt into the beatles but one day my teacher said you know you look like paul mcarthey. i was like o cool. later that day i looked him up then i started to watch beatles videos and now im a huge beatles fan. this was 10 years ago btw

  • @beatlesfangirl122 haha um i look like paul

  • george is perfect. <3 those dislikes must have been an accident, they meant to click like. :)

  • i was looking for this song and i came to find out that THE BEATLES are the singers thats gr8

  • @gtaivpimpdaddy14 actually the isley brothers were the original group that wrote/sang this song.

  • und was lernen wir daraus? unsere omi´s haben auch früher wie verückt gekreischt XD

  • they make me wanna shout!!! sexy boys

  • The Isley Brother vs The Beatles...mmm...interesting

  • They all have great voices!

Ringo is having so much fun. They all look like they're having a blast!

  • Great versions! The audience is shouting too much, but who can blame them.

  • I agree with the previous comment! The audience does not let them finish! Poor John has to keep up with the screams at the end.

  • The reason why they are singing this song is because the audience asked them to!

  • The audience doesn't even let them finish, they are screaming!!

  • They changed the song a little bit, but this version is great!

  • They did a great job without any technological benefits bands get these days.

  • Interesting version! I like how all of them take turns singing! lovely.

  • a very good version, considering they did this song out of the blue from the audience's request!

  • This is the infamous version where Lennon shouts,'don't fucking shout now' 3 times near the end-quite radical for 1964,thenGeorge 'bloody shout now'-amazed it got shown unedited, producers must have missed it! great version-check it from 1.29 onwards

  • @thenowuk oh my goodness he does shout that! he's so bad lol

  • yeah! 'fucking shout now'-3 times-it's quite infamous,it's on anthology1-very radical for the early 60's!

  • @thenowuk i wonder if there's a video capturing when he says 'i wanna hold your gland' instead of hand..have you heard of this?

  • He said a few variations on 'hand' when he was in the mood. On The Rolling Stone's 'Rock n roll circus' he says to Mick Jagger,'I wanna hold your man'

  • I'm gonna be honest here. I like the Beatles and all but I prefer the Isley Brothers version. This is not a bad cover though. Ironically I prefer the Beatles cover of Twist and Shout though.

Were the Beatles and Isley Brothers really close though. They seem to be sharing a lot of songs.

  • nooo man the temptations were the origonal and the best but they never got credit

  • Umm....The Isley Brother's version came out in 1959 before the temptations was form. Well ,according to Wikipedia anyways.

  • @madman00

Just those two songs. And I do agree that this is a great cover, but the Isley Brothers original is absolutely amazing - especially the beginning ("WEEEEEEELLLL. You know you make me wanna shout...).

  • i love it look at ringo definity plus

  • Haha lol...Ringo's hair was flinging everywhere!I guess you loved that!:)

  • A lot of girls back then would give their right arms to get some of that hair!!

  • Haha..lol!:)That would be a sight!:)

  • @Lenniett29 I would give my right arm and left leg !

  • @Lenniett29 A lot of girls NOW would give their right arms to get some of that hair!!

  • Ringo's hair does look good. I can't quite get mine that way.

  • WOW, I love The beatles plus I never herd them sing this one befor!!!!

    I LUV IT!

  • It's on Anthology 1, but without the screaming.

  • This was from Ready Steady Go on UK TV in 1965 I think. I know it was the week before the programme Ready Steady Win, basically an early version of X Factor. The winners were the Bo Street Runners I think. Anyone confirm?!!

  • Ringo is soooo cute!

  • omg i love this songgg is one of my favourites.

    I love Paul (H)

  • oddiooooooooooooo dice semprela stessa fraseeeeeeeeee

  • omg thats awsume nice beatle song its epic and cacty 5 stars :) no :[)

  • this is one of my favorite Beatles covers. They sing it so well, and look so hot while doing it!! If I was at this performance, I would have passed out, no question about it

  • i think its amazing :)

  • lol tats kinda ironic at the end wen john says god bless u

  • u suck

  • omg this is amazingggg ahhh i love it!!! go george and ring!!!!!

  • Ringo just looks SO happy when he's singing!

  • damn those screamin girls 2 hard 2 hear... :(

  • IMO, Little Richard's version i s much much better than this. I'm a big Beatle fan, but Richard's version really does make me shout and dance about.

  • Comment removed

  • wait a second, the isley brothers did it first.

  • Imma let you finish, but Richard`s version of "shout" was the best version of all time

  • Little Richard? This song is by the Isle Brothers.

  • Waw! !

  • They really were, and still are, the best band of all time, despite the fact that they are no longer together and 2 are dead.

  • While i strongly disagree, i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :)

  • Thats right.... I respect you for that statement!!!!!!!!!

  • Same to you my friend!

  • This is the Show Around the beatles

  • What show is this clip from? Anyone know? Thanks for posting it!

  • That song is very cool :D

  • omg the fucking best.

  • They are STILL the #1 rock band in the world 45 years later from their 1st U.S. "British invasion" appearance on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. Yes they were, and still are geniuses. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are still excellent showmen and musicians with their current bands. These men STILL perform with the youthful vigor they displayed then as Beatles and love every minute of it! Check out some of their latest performances here and see for yourself.

  • so u heard that report that said in 1965 less than 20% of adults listened to rock...and that now it is around 60% and the number one listened to band ,,is the Beatles....yeah yeah yeah.

  • The Beatles ROCK MY WORLD!!!! They are AWESOME!!

  • The Beatles made this song way better I love that they all sing in it too!!!

  • Comment removed

  • haha fucking love ringo singing

  • i love the beatles but this is not their song

  • NO!

But The Beatles is better than Isley! :D

  • The Beatles are geniuses.

THEY MAKE ME WANNA SHOUT MY LUNGS OUT. =)

  • Does anybody know what record this is on?

  • I think it's on the Anthology 1.

  • I love The Beatles.

  • i dont want to do this but your sentence doesnt make sense =X

  • your a dickhead

  • I just love the song

  • So your knowlege of Isleys music ends in 1969? You don't know anything about early soul music. Sam Cooke, Solomon Burke, Ray Charles, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Isleys, Ben E. King, Wilson Pickett and others had very different sounds. No Beatle was a virtuoso on their instrument and average at best singers. Lennon sounds just like Arthur Alexandria (original singer of Anna) when he wasn't channeling Ron Isley. How did they change the world of music? Isleys also wrote their own songs.

  • I agree about the beatles being average vocalist, as for changing the world. You dont have 27 #1 and not have influence. They changed the way albums were produced, and influenced bands the world over. The truth the beatles influence popular music more than anyother band.

  • George and ringo were at best average singers... But paul and john were amazing singers!! They both had their unique sound.. Nobody can sing "a day in the life" so beautifully as lennon... and mcCartney average??? Lol u guys listen to too much american idols bullshit.... OVERsinging doesnt make better singers!

  • Isley Bros were one of the earliest to play soul music and along with James Brown, Sly Stone, George Clinton one of the creators of funk. How much more original can you be than that? This song Shout was recorded by Isleys in 1959, one of the earliest examples of soul, the secular side of gospel. No cover has ventured far from the original. Beatles were great songwriters, but average at best singers and musicians. How many songs do you even know by the Isleys other than this?

  • Ronald Isley is one of the best singers ever. Not one Beatle is comparable. The Isleys are early pioneers of soul and funk music. What genre did Beatles pioneer? Without any mainstream media coverage the Isleys have earned 7 platinum and 13 gold albums. The Isleys have had been on the charts in every decade since the 50s. One of most sampled groups in hip hop history. Are in rock n roll hall of fame. Their songs have been covered by many others. all this with all most no mainstream coverage.

  • They pioneered acid rock (Psychedelic Rock) and Heavy Metal.

  • Check out Johnny Guitar Watson's "Space Guitar" It was released in 1954.

  • Isleys could sing Beatles under the table and into the ground on any given day. The Beatles, The Who and tons of other Brit bands were influenced by the Isleys. This song and Beatles version of"Twist & Shout" were exact covers of the Isleys.

  • i didnt like this version this much too much a little bit softer now

  • Georgee :D:D

    ;]]

  • LOL ringos hair is amazing

that is how drummers hair should be. Thick and bouncy xD

  • SING RINGO SING look at him go
