i just started doin box jumps at the gym for my vertical...to bad we only have 10 levels you put under the box...im getting better and better early...i barely bend my knees in the air i try not to bend my knees on every repitetion..
@TheNickwas you are plyometric dominant. that's not bad, everyone is different. what you should do to progress right now is strength training. heavy squats and deadlifts for no more thatn five reps per set. if you had difficulty to jump with running and found it easier to jump from a standstill, you would need to do plyometrics. that's how it works bro, hiope i helped.
That movie with Wesley Snipes was wrong:p

Ok i have a few workouts,if u do what i did you'll gain 2 inches
on the weekend. Ok if you have a big yard sprint around it 4
times on Saturday. Jump in squares 20 times, then ride your bike around your yard.
On Sunday get a weighted jump rope and make sure you jump at least
400 times. Go to a gym and rune a mile 20 on the treadmile.
and do 35 lunges. Get a 1/2-4 foot box and jump on it about 80 time together throughout the weekend.i gained 1 inch by doing that on the weekend =]
