I know this is an old Blid Willie song (albeit with slightly different lyrics) but I would love to know the chord arrangement in this version - anyone got any leads?
They played this at the Woodlands stop of the Dylan/Nelson/Mellancamp tour this summer...lead singer kept a washboard on with all sorts a bells and whistles, and he kept a coffee cup on a retractable wire that he kept swinging around and tipping to the audience...very cool...I understand what jollypilgrim is saying...it is a theatrical performance of a solemn Blind Willie tune, but I think if it draws more people into the blues, they'll eventually search out the originals, too...
I caught two sets of theirs at Winfield last weekend. Very well rehearsed, great stage presence, polished routines, funny, excellent musicians. Total entertainment!
I saw these guys last night as an opening act for Dylan, Mellancamp, & Willie, in Washington Pa, near Pittsburgh. They put on a great show. I bought a cd of them at the show, very good. Excellant band!!!!
Great video. Never heard of this group until last night. I saw them open for Dylan Mellancamp and Willie. They played in South Bend Indiana. Very Entertaining.
Is this an official page? If so, I want to say hi to Mico on behalf of Nick Johnson, from one mime to another. I look forward to seeing you guys in Chicago.
OMG these guys are awsome!!! I cant believe how good they sing this song!! I needed it for a history project and they totaly surprised me when i found this song AT ALL...cuz my report was on 1920-1930s music =(... but they did it so well!!! AMAZING JOB!! keep at it!

@SteveSanoski I don't think Blind Willie was singing this song very solemn at all. This song has a twinkle in it's eye. I love this version.

I saw them a few days ago and they said "Does anyone know any other funeral planning songs we can perform? 'Cause this is the only one we've found."
They're awesome.
