I think this guitar tuning was sent from Davy Graham because he wanted a different sound. Don Alder is an atheist so I highly doubt he communicated with God or anything to help him write this song.

This is an interesting style, something like Andy McKee and Don Ross though Alder has a better sense of melody than these players. But even so, it's bit like mor pop music without words. Doesn't really go anywhere or hold the attention much after the novelty wears off. Pretty bits, thoiugh.

agree-that to really hear a wonderful guitar sing, it is nice to throw in these slow sections, even if you are fast normally. This is when it makes your heart smile. I love to play like this - just wandering melodies - even hitting strings with no chords in mind to see what it says. Those can be the best personal jam sessions. i like tunings or straight.
