  • that saddle looks way to small for the horse

  • I was always taught to have put the reins over the neck, take off both cross ties, take off the halter and then bridle. And I was always taught never ever to allow your horses's reins to be on the ground, very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing or are not too aware that your horse has gotten tangled in it.

  • @Horsebackriderx2 i agree thats how i was taught too

  • I was always taught by a professional horse trainer to unbuckle and then slide the halter back to his neck/throat area, rebuckle the halter loosely, and bridle him then...I was taught this, so that the "rider" will always have control even so that he doesnt walk off, or spook and take off? Thanx.

  • @Wellington5392 Well that is a way to do it. But i was taught to first take the cross ties off. Put the reins over the head for control just in case. And then put the bridle on. Everybody has their on unique way of putting on a bridle. Yes, hers is a bit unsafe.

  • @grayponylove it really depends on your girth.

  • poor ponys mouth

  • your not suppost to use the middle buckle for the girth because if one of the end ones break you have the middle one to use.

  • bviously causes pain to the horse, even my non-horse-person friend could see that. Lady, you SERIOUSLY need to learn how to properly take care of a horse. I can't believe you would do that, there's only supposed to be 1-2 wrinkles near its lip, and there is blatantly way more than that.

  • Okay. I don't get all these comments about the saddle being "Way too far forward". I can easily see that the saddle is resting on the withers, and I know that this can cause severe pain to the horse...but if you look at the girth, it's almost perfectly placed, though it is slightly forward. Also, the horse obviously had high withers, so that's going to mean the saddle must rest a little on the withers. Now the bit. That is just ridiculous. I cannot believe you would leave a bit that tight. It ob

  • horses are so beautiful

  • gosh the saddles to ar forward and the bit is sooo tight i think the dont no wat there doing.

  • how can you ride properly with the saddle so far foward?! its practically on it's neck!! its on it's wither and its rally bad on their joints

  • that bit looks reaaaaaally uncomfortable up there :S also i was taught tou buckle the girth with the 1st and 3rd strap to balance it out a little more. the saddles to foward too..... gosh i dont even ride much and i know this stuff!

  • lady, learn how to tack up and ride english properly. the saddle is way to far forward. also the bit is way to up the mouth. My advice is stick with western, your crap at english.

  • Wat brand is dat saddle??

  • the saddle is WAAAAAYYY to far foward

  • shes a western rider you can tell. She showed how to tack up a horse western in another video and did way better. Plus here she almost said cantle when refering to the pommel. Shes obviously an expirienced rider...in western

  • Wrong**

  • Ive only bin rideing english a few weeks an even i know that shes doing everything especialy when she attaches the girth its supposte to go on the far left an the far right never far left an middle cuz there attached its dangerous if it breaks!!!

  • the saddle to far forward and the bit is too high. are you sure you know how to saddle the horse?

  • The middle strap under the saddle is a BACK UP strap encase one breaks! This person doesn't know how to saddle a horse.

  • this is very useful thank you

  • the horse is like GET THIS THING OUT OF MY MOUTH!! she sure doesn't saddle and bridle a horse like an expert

  • i have only just started riding lessons, and i kow that the saddle is too far forward..

  • Sorry bad speller.

  • The saddle is fine and the bits ment to be there. Becuase the girth area on a horse is behind the front legs look up parts of a horse please and look.

  • i rode for the first time yesterday and even i know the saddle is way to far up!!!

  • Ok her saddle is to far forward, And her cheek straps are to short, her bit is pulled up way to much from it. How is she an expert?!?! I can tack up a horse ten times better.

  • the saddle is way too forward

  • Yes i agree. The saddle is too far forward. Its touching its neck. It should be on its back. Beautiful horse though

  • Since when did we start riding the horse's neck..?

  • wow, ditto on what everyone is saying! the horse is wearing the saddle as a hat!

  • "pulling that saddle pad up into the can.....pommel." wow.

  • I feel so sorry for that horse. The bit is to far up in his mouth and that saddle is to far forward, i mean i know the girth is suppose to be behind the elbow but that is just to far.

  • The saddle is on his dang neck and the bit is up his throat. I think SHE needs some lessons.

  • Poor horse...the bit is much to high up.

  • The Bridles are too loose :SS she dont know what she is doing???

  • the saddle is waaaaay to far forward.!!!

  • wow you needto use to thing to extend the greth you hurting the horse wow you dont know how to do this

  • @balletismylifealways wow do u really know how 2 ride a horse or how 2 tack one up i have been riding 4 5 years and i know that the GIRTH DOSE'NT HURT!!!!!

  • the saddle pad i way to far up!!!!

  • she has a lot of videos and she always does so many things wrong in all of them...the saddle is way to forward it looks like she made his girth wayyyyy to tight and its to small and also the bit is way to high in his mouth...also notice how she's pausing in between her sentences...its because she doesnt know what the heck she's doing...that poor horse

  • she has a lot of videos and she always does so many things wrong in all of them...the saddle is way to forward it looks like she made his girth wayyyyy to tight and its to smal and also the bit is way to high in his mouth

  • I love this saddle pad! In which store can I buy it ?

  • I used to put the saddle on incorrectly and it was too far back, until my riding instructor showed me how to do it.they way she is putting the saddle on is correct, as the saddle will slide back as you ride.

  • @sweetsaltsea Okay, im not saying your wrong or anything. But if the saddle should slide back at all, you shoulduse a brest plate. I use one on the horse i ride, and it workd really well, the saddle stays in place the whole time im riding.

  • I'm a novice rider, but in my humble opinion, if I were to mount this horse with the way this instructor has saddled him and placed his bridle, I'd be thrown off in .2 seconds. The first thing this horse would do is start throwing his head in defiance of a badly placed bit piece.

  • the saddle is way to far forward that will hurt the horse and the bit is way to high

  • its to high

  • the saddles fine, when you ride the saddle will slap back, and the bit is wayy to far into the mouth...

  • wow, this lady knows nothing......geesh..... : /

  • Poor horse. That bit is so tight! Saddle is a little to far up and she buckle the girth up on the first two billits? WHO DOES THAT.. your supposed to do it on first and third... (;

  • @AlexaTheEquestrian That's how I saddle up too! I put the girth on the first and third billit straps to keep the saddle balanced!

  • @AngelFishxx1 Okay good ! Thank gosh i'm not alone ! lol

  • @AlexaTheEquestrian Don't worry, I'm 100% with ya! :)

  • If I was that horse I would bite her in the face..

  • where can I find a saddle and a saddle pad like these ? I like them a lot !

  • That bit is way to far back. Poor horse cant even shut its mouth, and she calls herself and expert

  • omg i never take the the girth off the saddel unless im oiling it and i only have the throat latch strap undone lol

  • too far up the withers poor horse and look at the bit too far up

  • wow, that is one tight bit :(

  • any farther up and she will be riding on the horse's neck!

  • @10mdawn my thoughts exactly :U

  • its way to far up the withers

  • where does she keep her horse?

  • and you have the first and third have to fasten the girth.

  • hahaha she thinks she is most expert, but she knows nothing.

  • hahaha she thinks she is most expert, but she knows nothing.

  • "Hey dude, you ready, I'm gonna ride on your neck"

  • u should never untie a horse u shud put the headcollar/halter onto its neck

  • woa woa wait.... I just started taking lessons an i was told to put the halter on the horses neck. What if the horse runs off?

  • that saddle is too small for that horse. And you look like a snob who doesn't do anything but brag about her horse.

  • since when do we ride on horses necks??? And that bridle is way too short!

  • This lady needs to get real! Since when is the saddle on top of the neck??? And why does the bridle look to small?

  • @breyersnstuff its english you jerk!! thats why :) srry for the ferk part lol xD

  • The saddle was to high up...

  • is she really a horse expert? saddles too far forward and the bit is way to far up in the mouth..

  • @kristian0gallops The saddle has to be just under the horses withers. i agree though it is a little too far forward!

  • @kristian0gallops i know right...it cant even shut its mouth!!!

  • @kristian0gallops Actually most english saddles and all hunter saddles go up that far. If you knew anything about it, then you wouldn't be so rude.

  • @IsaTracy if that's true.. most english riders watching this video are riding the wrong way.. the saddle shouldn't be all the way up it's neck!!!!

  • @kristian0gallops Theres all kinds of different styles of saddles. You always put the saddle up further with english saddles, and this one seems smaller so it looks further up. Plus its a hunter saddle and in shows or training the saddle is exactly that far up.

  • ikr.!!!!

  • @kristian0gallops the saddle is supposed to be that high when you go on you saddle goes back so shows what you no

  • @magooee1 funny how a lot of people agree with me.. it seems like very few agree with this lady...... and im not an english rider. im western. and maybe its just the cameras position but it seems pretty high and a lot of people who put saddling videos up don't put the saddle up that far. but have you read the comments. most say the saddle is too forward.

  • @kristian0gallops yea but it does go down when i ride my horse its better to do that i ride english

  • @magooee1 okay you shouldnt even try to mount the horse if you are putting youre saddle that far forward as you will damage that horses shoulders and back im english i have 3 horses and i ride english everyday so i have to saddle up everyday a take it all off again so dont do that if you want a rideable horse for its life as arthritis is common in horses and doing that with your horse is unfair as it puts pressure on parts that shouldnt have pressure on them and it contorts the saddle

  • @Nightswerve cool?

  • that is an english saddle. western is better in my opinion, but that's just me. :)

  • saddles too forward.

  • @annerrlouise the saddle slides back as you ride

  • whoo bit painful 4 the horse ayy

  • You might need a flash noseband to keep his mouth closed, but not if you have already considered that . :)

  • his bit is really high in his mouth

  • To clear all of this up!!! The saddle is a bit far up for the typical horse yes, but if you look at his/her withers u see that they're kinda low, therefor its harder to hold the saddle in place, so when this happens people typically put the saddle farther forward to hold the saddle in place or allow for more movement.

  • the saddle sould be moved back a tiny bit atleast up to where the mane ends

the saddle was placed about 3-4 centermetres past the end of the mane

  • saddle is to far up dont ya think!

  • Yes that saddle is a bit far forward, its only meant to go a bit on the withers or where the mane starts, but I guess she was also busy filming too:)

  • Isn't the saddle too far forward?? I don't ride english but it looks too far forwar...

  • uhhh is that saddle too far forward??? i looks as if its ON TOP of his withers...and his bit looks odd...he has his moth open

  • @PonyPerson28120 init pull it down old lady whooop

  • @fabgirl12chick what?????

  • Well I use the first and third straps.

  • the bit must fits on the blade or under???????? please i need someone to answer me...Either way , very good video! Thanks for your informations!

  • this video stopped at 1:04! WTF?!

  • @OiiOiiLOL what do u mean?

  • is the saddle the right size?

  • that saddle looks to small

  • @AirTimeSkates that saddle is a perfect size, most english saddles are that small but it probably just looks smaller because of the type of pad she is using

  • i need sum advice:

what if u r using a western saddle pad? cuz then there arent any keepers sooo..... is it any different besides that?

  • @HorsieRider125 i do that all the time.. there is no difference!

  • wrong billet if you have 2 girth straps you put it threw the inner and out billet. Not the middle, and yes it does matter.

  • @ruggergirl15 Why does it matter? Just Wondering

  • @maybhicks9596 I think its uncomfortable for them, and an okward ride.

  • @ruggergirl15 actually, it puts more even pressure on, and also makes sure that both straps come from different parts of the sadde so if one breaks, the other one is unnaffected:)

  • @rubbishrider861 Oh thanks i didn't know that...but i know the reason i stated "the uncomfortable ride" is true too. I went ridding a while ago and asked my horse instructors. ( :

  • not to be mean , but the saddle looks small

  • I don't no what everyones on about :S I have always been taught to put it on the 1st and 2nd!! 3rd for emergancy.

  • @989878789 the 2nd one isnt as strong at the others

  • YOU GIRTHED WRONG THE GIRTH IS MENNA ATTACH TO THE 1ST AND 3RD BILLET THE 2ND BILLIT IS AN EMERGANCY BILLET

  • you should either put his halter or reins, preferably both, around his neck as you're bridling.

  • Whenever I put on the saddle it is always too low. Does any one have any tips on how to place it in the right spot? Thanks!

  • DUDE U HAVTA PUT THE GIRTH ON THE FIRST AND THIRD BILLETS!!! HOW CUD U NOT POSSIBLEY KNOW THAT!!!!!!?????

  • im a beginer western. and i mean verry beginer. and most of thier horses (all the ones they dont use for show) have a bridle path, why doesn't the horse here have one?

  • @arkykittle this is an english riding horse, english riders do not do bridle paths

  • she needes to put the saddle down without a thimp or ti will hurt the horses back

    aoifexx

  • @hannahhorse11 yeah me 2

  • i think its awesome that us experienced equestrians find videos lyk " how to ride a horse" and "how to saddle a horse" and see how others are doing it and then comment someting negative about it. it makes my day. i do it all the tym >:)

  • @hannahhorse11 no you take the halter off and put it on the horses neck so you wont have it under your bridle wen ur riding, or if u ride western, the tie down goes on first so theres no problem there

  • This look's more easy'r then the other kind of saddle....Anyway's cute horse!^3^ What is his name?

  • Very Helpful, Thanks! :D

  • Comment removed

  • thats a nice saddle where did you buy it from?

  • My comment is that I find it difficult to stay awake listening to this lady. That monotonous voice is just no help. This will make people look for someone more interesting.

  • I think she is hot tacking up the horse.

  • when i attatch my girth, i put it on the 1st and 3rd straps. unlike her at 1:57.

  • =0 THAT BIT IS TOO HIGH!! and is it just me or does the saddle look weird o.0

  • Shes doesn't mention the saddle being a little higher up so it slides down as your riding nothing about the withers either

  • that bit was too high!!

  • Yes agree, horse seemed very uncomfortable with bridle on.

  • It will take the reins over the horse's head before you braid. And in the same way you should lead the horse

  • oh ya and if my account thing that i am on for youtube has videos on it its not me its my friend and her horses she has 1.. i am on hers cause i dont want to make one right know... i am to busy with the horses to be on this... LOL

  • and the throatlatch.. huh and i dont know if it is just me but the saddle looks a little to hight up on the wither... but w.e... i like the horse.. oh ya and you know the latchess on the saddle to tie up the girth? well you should put it on the tow out side ones not on the middle... the middle is only if you brake the other ones... :P

  • ummm. nice horse but i also agree with the others... i have 13 horses and i never would put it like that.. wow

  • Jeez! That poor horse.): It's bit is far too high in it's mouth. Loosen it off a little lady!

  • ugh. and u said enjoy the horse? i get it. but Idk if that was really needed...

  • beautiful horse in that video but i agree with @yuliya1995 the bridle looks a little small.

  • I just watched a video the other night on RFD that said that a common misconception is that the throatlatch should be loose. They say that part is to keep the bridle on if it gets snagged on something. I can't see what else it would be for. What good is it if you can just pull the bridle off over the ears?

  • lol, even with the throat latch loose, the bridle can't be pulled over the horses ears, if it is done up.

    Try it sometime. =P

  • i think that the bridle was too tight because his lips are pulled back.

  • @yuliya1995

Oh haha I was just gonna say that, o wel..I agree!
