  • great work by the sax man here

  • mmmm this was one of the best weekends

  • Incredible video. Thank you for posting it!!

  • not my favorite version, it sounds a little distant, but that drop is my favorite moment in music

    crowd looks tired lol

  • like this if you were there and you loved everymoment like me!

  • This is the perfect kind of music to listen to while you spray paint planets and such.

  • Brings tears to my eye ... i hope i can catch them when they roll tru new england next.

  • this was such a wild show. i was right in the middle. thank you for posting this shit, bringing me baaaack!!

  • @adeelololzz

i agree, brings ya back :D

  • does anyone know what album this is off of?

  • @Steezeandmac

    its not on an album

  • like my sister says, "you can't be into the dub scene without loving sts9. they practically invented it." i absolutely agree. sts9 this summer at red rocks, hell yeah!

  • @haaaales see you there

  • who cares about the complexity of the music

if its a good song listen to it otherwise listen to something else

    jam

  • I would love to play in a band like this. Listening, it makes me think there is a "tension" in place where even the musicians are not sure where the experience is going to take them. One night, the song goes one way, another night, it goes somewhere else. I miss this exploration that evaporates so often when playing cover songs.

  • bad!

  • lol, its called a composer/writer being patient with the piece they create. circus is a beautiful song, and they dont feel the need to rush through it and have it be over like that, but take the fan on a journey. go listen to fucking heavy then if you dont like this, but that song is trash. this is sector 9! and that guitar player, hunter brown, plays w/in the confines of what sts9 is about, group rhythm favored over solos, which creates one sound, one band.

  • wow. just plain awful, non-music. One boring loop that goes on forever. sounds like the demo song for some piece of software or maybe an inflight safety demonstration. And that guitar player, with all his equipment, should know what a tuner does.

  • i went to there show at the Madison theater last night in covington Kentucky!!! Best concert i have ever been too!!!! the energy was amazing!!!!!!!

  • love these guys.

  • i love tribe's light man!!

  • virtualericgear: if u knew anything about sts9 u would know that they never play their songs exactly the same they improv a lot of their stuff in the middle of the song and go to a show then comment amazing atmosphere and connection with the crowd every time they take the stage

  • This is not complex and sophisticated - it's the same loop pattern over and over and over. There's far more complex/sophisticated out there. Just listen to the foundation that everything sits on. It's the same thing over -- and over -- and over -- and over -- and over. That's not to say the textures aren't cool, and the soundscapes aren't ethereal. The problem is nothing is holding them up but a boring bass pattern.

  • @virtualericgear complexity is not and has never ever ever been a prerequisite for amazing music. sts9's entire repotoire is wrought with complexities and insanely confusing rhythms and textures... this song might not be complex... doesnt mean it isnt an amazing composition.

  • @Bonzoandthemadhatter If you want to call a repetitive and boring foundational loop something that belongs in an amazing composition, that's your opinion. I'm not saying complexity is a prerequisite for amazing music. I'm saying a constantly repeating, uninteresting foundational phrase repeated to the point of being nauseous is NOT how a foundation to an amazing composition is created.

The loss of music programs in schools is really starting to show....bummer.

  • @virtualericgear i actually am a music minor and go to as many shows of as many different kinds of music as possible. and trust me i am always skeptical of electronica bands or watever...but tribe has an arsenal of music that is ridiculously complex...just because this song isnt particularly complex doesnt mean its no a good peice of music...i dont understand how you find it boring it really doesnt even repeat that many times.. and they play it differently every time...its quite beautiful.

  • This song sounds pretty Post-Rock-Esque

    Diggin it.

  • right up front close to the stage on new years in denver....best fucking shit of my life

  • check out ....ozric tentacles......go on .....u know it makes sense

  • This song brings joy within me, just absolutely amazing gives you a feeling nothing else can give you, fucking love tribe, this song made me cry at new years in denver

  • there is no need for lyrics ...the music alone tells a story...lyrics would just take away from the beauty

  • yep, exactly.

  • @blackcrowe311 Word up. I like your kind. I like your mind.

  • @blackcrowe311

    what a dumbass

  • that's what makes it amazing dickweed

  • @rayray4728

haha you don't need lyrics to explain how you feel about things

  • u can see zac raging all the way from here haha they are killing it with this song... too bad sound tribe won't be in chicago for their winter/ spring tour, but lets all hope they will be comin through this summer :)

  • 1:39, melts my face everyday is closer to NYE in denver

  • Saw them in Pitt. Religious experience, that was.

  • beautiful

    tribe melts face....end of story

  • too bad they don't play entire shows like they used to, when every song was like this.

  • go to rothbury ND ENJOY

  • Man, they must practice so much because everything sounds so perfect together.

  • just got massive goosebump attack at-yup u guessed it-1:40

  • Yo......When is Zac gona be mentioned in Modern Drummer Magazine and switch to legit cymbals?

  • sts9 is so incredible words cannot describe the feelings you get from listening to them

  • Wow 1:40 = amazing. Look at everyone in the entire theater freaking out, even in the back. If you havent seen STS9 this is one of the best videos to see what kind of atmosphere a soundtribe show is. They played a sweet version of The Rabble this night too.

  • wow.. thats why i love sound tribe! that theatre is packed!

  • This is amazing. Ill just leave it at that.

  • Sickest shit ever! Wish I was there its been too long since I have seen sts9, so much goodness in one room! 1:40 wait for it

  • I was at this show, front row center. I remember at what is 1:40 looking around and not believing what i was experiencing. One of the most intense moments in live music i've ever seen. This show is def worth a download if you havent yet!

  • I was probably standing right next to you, haha. Front row towards the center and at that moment at the end of the build up, the climax of the song...absolutely incredible. One of the peaks in music that can make me smile and bring me to tears at the same time.

  • @medicatedmind420 any idea where i can get it? i dont have a good live circus this one is so sick.... just incredible crescendos leading up to epicness

  • @medicatedmind420 damn man i would be thinking the same thing, that is absolutely beaitufl, beaitful lights with a beautiful song..just amazing. words cant explain eh?

  • @medicatedmind420 Amen. Same show, same feeling.

  • @medicatedmind420 just curious, what were u on? im thinkin some classic doses for when i see them in november. I just wanna experience what u had hahaha

  • First time I heard this band was just a few weeks ago when I got high with my biology buddy from class. He played that song and it totally changed my view on things, this band has really changed me.

  • you havent heard anything if its been a few weeks, wait til you see them live, check out their old songs and albums. artifact and perspectives is amazing.

  • you don't even know what your in for!

    i envy that feeling

  • na they are originaly from snellville georgia then moved to santa cruise i think late 90's early 2000's

  • WOW....

  • Hell yea, can't wait for tomorrow in Chicago! This is going to be amazing.

  • hell yea ill be there friday.

  • Fucking friday at the Congress! Hell yeah!

  • hell yeah see you there

  • I love this song soooo much words cannot discribe :)

  • Comment removed

  • so many better versions of this song

  • sounds like the studio version to me.

  • I'm a huge tribe fan from the south so I never get to see a congress show but I download it every year because they always seem to be on fire at congress. The sound quality always sounds so pure as well.

  • the congress show from a couple of years ago with hip hop>tap-in was sick. best version of both those songs i've ever heard.

  • i know, i saw them in Cleveland a couple months ago. but seein them in chicago, its gona be amazing!

  • its to bad for us taht they arent going to come back to cleveland any time soon. it was obvious that they hated playing in cleveland when murph gave us all the finger at the end of the show bc of that douche that hit him in the face with a glowstick. and if they do come back they arent going to play taht amazing of a show. the EHM in cleveland was amazing though!

  • There going to be in chicago march 13th.

  • ..and I will be there. Praying for a great setlist!

  • i can't watch this enough

can anyone say added to my favorites?

  • most amazing show i went to last year.

  • alex? for real we are beast at this show

  • lol wrong person -1

  • i wish i could have been there...must have been the most epic experience ever

  • Circus to close the night WAS epic

  • amazing video by far the greatest sts9 show ive ever seen

  • Actually, this is the SICKEST STS9 video I have ever seen. Nicely done

  • When it gets to 1:40 the lights are fucking incredible. Ive seen them 8 times and never saw a display that sick.

  • sound is great tho... if this is even the real sound

  • i synced up the SBD from the show to the video.

  • this is just an amazing song.. i wish they played this @ 930club in DC 11/16/08 but it was still an excellent show

  • i love the great view of the band!

    .....NOT

  • this isnt pure improvisation though, i have like 2 diff versions of this song. they just remix it during concerts all the time. its still sick though

  • unbelievable

    real jam?

    you mean, just improvisation?

    pure

gotta already have some tune already hur

    if it's pure improvisation

    im downright in love

  • sound tribe is LIFE, son!!

  • i was there, my first tribe experience. undescribable

  • what!!! im feelin the love here :D

  • sts9 brings the best people

  • i herd them from my step bro pretty awesome

  • I love STS9..

Man they are so awesome how they rocked both Langerado and Rothbury!

    Oh my and Cincinnati!!

STS9 is like the best Jam Band like ever!

  • yea pretty dope, they WERE the best jam band ever, after peaceblaster they became your everyday typical electronica band, very cold and calculated whered da IMPROV go yo, def best circus ive ever heard

  • gotta disagree there bro. just saw em at the rocks this weekend and anyone who was there will also disagree with you

  • agree to disagree we all got opinions, who's right and wrong i don't know, but if you followed them at all in the early days there was mad improv and jam now peacebuster, but then it was rr so its hard to not have a good time, just dont like the direction sector 9 decided to go

  • I can see how you'd think that. I wish I could have known about them earlier, only been listenin since artifact, but i have listened to all of their albums. seems like they've really just honed in on their style....some ppl may say sellout i guess, but they can do so much more for people now that they are more well known. "every day typical electronica band" is such a kick in the balls though!

  • every day typical electronica band? you gotta be kidding me

  • Churn'n bro, typical electronica? I was there zuhly and i agree with you, there did go a lil repetative fr a bit BUT red rocks was amazing this year, A LOT of improvisation and greatly done to, they also jam'd into and outta songs, certain parts into others, it was yeaaahhhhhhhhh!!!

  • i want to see them...

i love this genre and even though they are different my favorite is the boards of canada

  • thank you

  • i was there, amazing show. i was front and center, and this was the best song of the night. btw Arigato was a great opener

  • this was the best night ever, double circus encore, ahh what a night. and what a good crowd

  • thanks timmy!

  • i was at this show. it was fuckin sick. best show ive ever been too. this was there final song in the encore and it was awesome. front and center baby!!!

  • This is a great video. Thanks, bro!

  • tribe is definatly the best live act right now, this song gives me chills

  • they are damn good, also at the top of my list are bisco, umphreys, MMJ, and claypool's fancy band

  • i disagree.

tool is the best touring band out there today.

  • haha ya right. sector 9 rules all

  • amazing song, keep it up Sound Tribe. The best touring band out there today.
