  • I hate when people confuse type 1 diabetes with type 2 diabetes. The other day in school we had a subject about childhood obesity, and the teacher talked about how obesity could lead to diabetes.Ofcause he ment Type 2 diabetes, but he didnt say that. Everybody started to laugh and pick on me, because they thought that I had been fat. Which I never have been !

  • happens to me too.

Sadly it just happens. But they will learn later on in life.

  • Im diabetic and im 14. I was diagnosed about 7 years ago. I was first put onto 2 times a day but about 5 months ago i was put on 4 times a day. I found it really hard at first but now i have better control and i am understanding it more easily :)

  • I am a type 2 and inject 4 times a day. I also take pills too.

  • ive had diabetes for 33 years now.. for the last 2 ive been on 4 or 5 injections a day and i wish i done this years ago.. great vid..thanks

  • that guy has the same insulin pen as me! woo silver! i also got red in case somethin happens 2 silver, and multicoloured in case something happens to that!

  • Only problem is type two Diabets aren't always "OLD and Overweight !"

I weing 180 and am 45 and have been a type two for over 20 years (on insulin for 10).

  • yeha, i'm not a pro on type 2, bbut isn't it also caused by liver problems, heart problems etc?

  • no. it is inhent. My mom and grandfather were both diabetics, so I kinda knew I was also going to follow suit. The "gene" sits there waiting for something to kick it off. In my case it was stress, yes in others, other medical problems can kick it but it is not caused by the kick, it is always there....

  • hmm kk

  • do u inject the insulin? thats what i thought type 1 was..which ive been for 33 years..or is it a pill?

  • A type 2 also can be on insulin. I am a type two and inject 2 different insulin shots 4 times a day.

  • @drkelly8 how are you type 2 and still take injections ...?

  • @num1ubernacht some people with type 2 dont make enough insulin to cover what they eat and atre you still injecting 9 times a day and checking your glucose 16 times a day and why so much is you bloodsugars really that unstable

  • @lace0mafia no its very stable! hba1c is at 5.9 . i take 9 injections because i eat 8 times a day one is lantus a slow releasing injection i swimm 10 miles a week n train very hard in the gym so i must eat alot to stay big im nautrally skinney so i have to work hard to stay big , and type two diabetes should not be called diabetes people with type 2 often act like a type 1 to make them selvs feel something which i can not understand fully they like to make out there life is hard r something ???

  • lol i got type 1 on 4 injections...woop woop :D

    bein 13 is cool :]

  • hey i'm type 1 too, i get 4 injections a day, and i'm 12...
