my pops an old school italian that learned from my grandmother back in the old country and they cooked the chicken and all the francese ingredients all together and not separate
I made this today, substituting more chicken broth for the wine. I'm not a big fan of meat only tasting good based on the stuff you put on it after it's cooked, and this seemed to be the case. I tried the chicken without the sauce and it was pretty bland, it was just egg and chicken flavor. I wish the directions would say how much salt and pepper, because maybe that's were the flavor was lacking. The sauce was actually pretty good, thickened with the floured butter.
@princemohsin there really isn't an alternitive. If you're underage ask an adult to buy some cooking wine. The alcohol doesn't affect you when it has been cooked

@princemohsin Why not? You are not affected by alcohol when it is in food... the alcohol is physically burned away when the food is cooked, so you cannot get drunk or have alcohol related health effects from eating food with wine in it.
If you dont use alcoholic products in food, do you eat bread? Yeast produces alcohol as it rises the bread, but the yeast is killed and the alcohol is burned as the bread cooks.
@princemohsin I know your comment's almost a year old but you can use grape juice in place of wine, they're both made from grapes, one's just fermented to make it alcoholic
@bumflufasshole not entirely. depending on cooking time as much as 25 percent of the total alcohol can remain, however the amount left is not noticeable.
@m0neez That's a cast iron pan. It wall last generations. I got one that was my Great-grandfather's.
Yes, the pan @ 00:54 could probably use a good scouring. Then just re-season it properly and it'll be as good as new and nonstick. No need to spend money on a new one.
Most serious cooks will have at least one cast iron pan in their kitchen. -Remember never use soap on cast iron just hot water, otherwise you'll have to re-season every time you wash it!

Yeah, it's called "make something else that doesn't call for alcohol and then reconsider your lifestyle choices."

Why would you want to replace the "vine"? Chicken and white wine were made for each other.
