Wrong! Between the Napoleonic Wars ending 1815 & WWI which began in 1914, Briitain was largely at peace and it was during this period that society as we know it "evolved" . Much progress was made in the fields of biology, & other sciences, economics, transportation etc and in Britain the groundwork was laid for the social democratic society they enjoy today.
