  • my GOD is she beautiful...

  • It was indeed Warren....amazing.....and this version is so good.....and I am not a LR fan per se....But she sounds so good here.....

  • Wasn't this song written by Warren Zevon? I could be mistaken...or maybe just performed by him later?

  • Asshole advertisements!

  • Some credits should go to the writer and great performer the late Warren Zevon, although her version is ok.

  • What an amazing voice, very unique!! Very pretty too :) Thanks for posting the song and slide show :)

  • great job on the slide show of my favorite singer girl, her voice , hair, eyes mouth.... everything about her is just GREAT, thank you for the pics

  • not my favorite song but the slide show makes i worth putting in my Linda playlist

  • 1978 or '79, I was 15 and my brother took me to see Linda. From the front row. In her Cub Scout uniform. That sort of thing can leave an impression on a young man.

  • Damn I used to have a huge crush on Linda when I was a lad.

  • This was a huge song back in the early 70's ,,, brings back great memories !

  • Linda has a Great Voice and Several Wonderful Songs. Thanks for Posting and Have a Great Day~~

  • What a lady! I have followed her career since the Stone Poneys and still love her stuff!

  • Linda sounds pitiful..NOT! She SOUNDS and LOOKS insanely awesome in every way! Thanks for this!

  • @raremountainbear- thanx man i thought for sure they backed her on this, must of been earlier stuff- love is a rose

  • I loved Linda in the 70's my first major crush for a catholic school boy, Gotta love The Boy Scout outfit..NICE!!

  • This is thee best video I've viewed ALL DAY! Lotsa crap lyin' 'round YT. FEATURED.

  • I think I like Warren's version more... Like a lot.

  • the eagles are backing her on this. i kid you not

  • @wingman572 No, they're not. This is from 1977, and they were no longer her backing band. Waddy Wachtel is on guitar here. Don Henley provided backing vocals on Blue Bayou from this album, and Bernie Leadon provided minimal backing vocals, but that's it. They provided no instrumentation.

  • Blondes may have more fun, but they don't compare to this smoking hot brunette.

  • @dsspike51 well said....god I was in love with her in the 70's...fortunately I married a girl that had her eyes...couldn't sing but what the hell... ;-)

  • @dsspike51

In 1969 she was a hot little 23 year old, Had that innocent look in her eye---------and you just knew that wasn't right,---LOL. Today she is 66 and I haven't seen her in years.

  • Acabo de ver el video y he llegado a la conclusion que he visto a Selena Gomez pero con una extraordinaria voz

  • terri clark did a good job to.....

  • well done like quality of sound and the images ...

  • darn Linda rocked!

  • Back in the day I had that poster of her @ the 1:04 mark.

  • love the song. and really loved all the pictures WOW WHAT A HOTTIE!!!!

  • if Linda doesn't make you feel great to be a heterosexual male then...well...you're just dead.

  • @Christlovesanimals LOVE your comment or response!! As outstanding to me as hearing Linda belt out this song. Dead indeed, both the little and big "heads." ;)

  • she has a sexy vois

  • Poor poor oitiful me !Pure music nostlgia never gets old!chacka69 Bless all 4 2012!!!

  • Great song!!

Well, a very young model girl in UK, some weeks ago, did put her head on the rail, where the train had NOT stopped coming there.....terrible! ed

    w w w eddy nu

  • YOU GO GIRL

  • Wow...the last time I heard this song I was a freshman in college. How time flies.

  • @molarguy- i got a fever need more cowbell!!!!!!!!!!

  • forgive me, not in this class

  • Linda Ronstadt did really well with recording this song. In 1996, it was covered by country singer Terri Clark, and they do sound similar in many parts of the song.

  • Sedap dan semangat! Moluccan man from Holland

My very best wishes to Miss Londa Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, the best country-rock singers.

Thanks and Gods Blessings to you.

  • @Sunshine4Cells So was your mother.

  • does anyone else think that Linda looks like she could be Sally Fields sister?

  • @renojim432 yes, i've always thought that too! in this video, especially in the early photos of linda! sally in a great film from 1977 called ''heroes'', looks VERY much like linda during the 70s. also, i recall reading in an article when i was something like 14, that linda herself thought she possessed ''a sally field type of cuteness''. i love 'em both! they could be sisters! just too cute!!

  • Captivated by the voice of this woman.

  • I grew up on this..THE MOST beutiful..I dreamed Linda...

  • All i can say is I think she is Hot.....But don't care too much for her politics .

Thanks for the upload of my Hal Ketchem

    hwaj5300

  • I always liked Linda Ronstadt songs, but don't much care for the "drums" in this one. They smack dangerously of disco.

  • @gpgaal thats's Lee Sklar I think....far from disco...he was one of the first to use the high end electronic tom-toms...

  • @Dukabor Lee Sklar plays bass. Maybe it was Russ Kunkel.

  • Asher raised himself to master producer with super driving rhythm dominating the track. The best session guys of alltime couldn't hurt ( Hint... JT )

  • She successfully switched the gender in this song. She made it her own, which is what she's famous for. The only line that doesn't completely work is the "Please don't hurt me mamma" line, but it works well enough.

  • Sorry, but this is a gender-based song and Linda's not the right gender. This is as annoying as Joan Baez singing The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.

  • Glad to see even narrow minded, judgemental cretins are on Youtube. Wait....no I'm not.

  • @RickinFLA07

    get bent

  • @CozScuba ..............Blow me.

  • She was THE original Winnie Cooper of the wonder years mid60's to mid70's, precious few with talent and looks she brought us.

  • @70xlch whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?? she was NOT Winnie Cooper..Danica McKellar was the actress who played Winnie thru-out the entire series...

  • IF Linda ronstadt and Jackson browne had got married and had kids they would be prodigy's for sure and we would be blessed but we already are with them just the way thay are just a youtube thought??

  • Thanks for the post. Just love Linda Ronstadt ! I know Warren Zevon wrote this, but the lyrics still sound like a Jackson Browne tune to me. BTW, love all three aforementioned artists. But, even at 37, still have a crush on Ms. Ronstadt. I've dug her presence and been crushin' on her since I was toddlin' around back in the '70s. Used to love when mom would play her records. This is still one of my all time faves recorded by her. Thank you again for the post.

  • Written by the great Warren Zevon.

  • This version is pretty good. For those who don't know, it was covered by country singer Terri Clark in 1996. There do seem to be a few similarities between both versions though.

  • Great pics and song!! I used to have this on a 45 record, back many, many moons ago.

  • there is only one linda ronstadt she enchantes my spirit thanks so much

  • As far as rock chicks in the late 60s/early 70s, we had Grace Slick and Janis Joplin. Then Linda came around who was undeniably pretty and the rest, as they say, his history...

  • This is my Linda song ever!!! She is so lovely and talented!!! Still is!!!

  • Heartbreak on Wheels!

  • I saw Ronstadt in concert in 1980 or 81. Awesome concert. That woman was incredibly hot.

  • @methos21 Wish I was there.

  • And I love the part at about 2.30, when the song recovers to start into a furious ending.

  • love the part where she sings "he was a credit to his gender" - pretty entertaining - this is my favorite Linda song

  • This song, in this version, is very much the product of Peter Asher and Waddy Wachtel. I am not denigrating Ms. Rondstadt's brilliant talent, just saying they helped re-work the material for her.

  • @98michellesanders You mean sort of like a Waring blender?

  • @garyjagels1 Yea - sort of like that - lol

  • Linda had it all back in the day..........was in her prime in 1970 and kept going and going...............was a FOXY LADY

  • right for on Warren ..didnt know that, thanks ..but typical of his writing..great artist ,the music world is lesser without him :(

  • Written by the late, great Warren Zevon...

  • @boliverful1 wasn't aware about his passing

  • @pkappel006 Yes; miss him terribly. There's an outstanding live version of this song by Warren on a 1980 album called Stand In The Fire, recorded at the Roxy in LA.

  • @boliverful1 thanks for the update partner

  • love her politics, her music and her looks.Viva Linda!

  • how she your girl when she my girl; lol

  • Great song and very cute:)

  • Is that the late, great Andrew Gold on lead guitar? Anyone?

  • @ciarraibuzz No, that should be Waddy Watchel

  • @adcan45 Thanks. Waddy is mentioned in Keith Richards' autobiography in very positive terms. A good read, by the way.

  • Linda Ronstadt is the best female pop and any genre singer. Period.

  • Linda never "Posed" nude...there's a couple pics of her breasts hanging about..but unintentional...she's got too much class

  • Comment removed

  • Hmmm .... you feeling sorry for yourself again? Tch tch ......

  • Linda left rock far too soon

  • all american girl, with a good voice!

  • Beautiful song and voice!!!

  • She was so hot in her prime - I think Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson & Linda Ronstadt were the queens of rock in the 70's & 80's!!!!!

  • WOW - HOT LINDA - Beautiful girl - best Linda Ronstadt song in my eyes

  • Did she ever pose nude?

  • @kevykev38 Yeah, in my mind.

  • Love Linda! She gracefully remains humble and somewhat shy unlike many other mega stars we see. We need to see more of her.

  • Fark yeah!!

  • great cowbell

  • @molarguy LOL love it

  • "Well I lay my head on the railroad track, waiting on the Double E. But the train don't run by here no more, poor poor pitiful me." How many guys in the 70's had a major crush on Linda . . . a few million, maybe??? Just the best of Warren Zevon . . . but, Ronstadts' song all the way. My wife photographed Warren in one of his last appearences for a rock mag. He does need to be in the Fame.

  • @beespapa Good call on Warren Zevon. He had more integrity than 80% of the musicians from his era that have made it into the rock and roll hall of fame.More talent too! His 'Hindu Love Gods' album was a masterpiece!

  • Born of Gram Parsons' sound.

  • @plopnod

    Yeah.

  • all her songs are about pain and rape

  • Her politics were correct, the USA ranks 32nd in the World in Life Expectancy, and pay 50% more for health care than any other Western Country. We have the most privatised care of modern Western Countries.

  • I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!!!

  • before Stevie, before Ann & Nancy, and way before Pat Benetar...We had our Lovely Linda.....She is the 1st lady of Rock and blessed by the "Eagles"

  • For me Linda's right up there with Streisand. Both make it look so easy.

  • I love her potitics and Love her !

  • Man, she was hot, Warren Zevon (wrote this tune) needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and the drums/percussion noises on this version are super annoying!

  • I grew up lissening to her and I stilll love her!

  • is this linda ronstadt or Cher?

  • @se7ensnakes the one and only.... Linda Ronstadt

  • one of the best songs by linda-and a great band--thanks for some magnificent pics--shes a real beauty--havent heard much about her recently--hope she hasnt retired or has health problems--

  • 'oh these boys won't let me be' - yeah no doubt

  • @luvyellowroses1 Thats it,& if someone judges u as to their tastes of the opposite gender, thats not bad either, just means they dont understand its not about what we look like, its actually down to attraction not appearnces.Linda loved by many that understand that,we all carry different traits that are attractive, every one has different attractions, but yeah to be kept in a dignified way to ourselves and others.

  • @luvyellowroses1 Yeah some are shallow, but on the flip some are too naive, there is a fine line to walk between the 2, I just conversed with someone who saw all kids as perfect,& lived life like her own kids,in growth/maturity/abilities.I think being unshallow can harm just as much as shallow. In the case of people seeing people,we should see what we need to, a persons disadvantages etc to be able to understand & perhaps help when needed, but not in an insulting way

  • One damn fine woman

  • what a woman

  • It seems every female country singer of the 90's and 2000's is basically a pale imitation of Linda Ronstadt. Linda was sexier and could outsing all the cookie-cutter girls who were trying to be like her. One of them even did a pointless remake of this song in the 90's but Linda's version was still better.

  • And this amazing talent is not yet in the rock and roll hall of fame....and Madonna is?.....wtf is wrong with this picture.....Well she really isnt a rock and roller people say.... yes she has sang all genres(quite successfully I might add)..but I dare anyone who listens to this Warren Zevon tune and state that she doesnt rock.....I have lost complete respect for the R&R Hall of Fame by the glaring omission of Ms. Ronstadt year after year....grrrr.....

  • Besides the big beautiful eyes, I could fall in in love with this woman just listening to her. Such a silky and yet powerful voice. She was -- and still is very versatile in how she can use her voice and in what she can sing. I had a very beautiful friend who I used to equate to Linda, both in how she looked and her voice.

  • poor pitiful linda, i wish i could'a been there to console her Haha!

  • i remenber seeing her live what a honey!!!

  • Good stuff !!

  • As a kid, I never "understood" why my dad was in love with her back in the 70's.

Looking at this compilation of pics, it's pretty obvious now!! WOW! LOL.

.....And she really could bring it - almost no women nowadays have pipes or can hit notes like that. She was a gem, for sure.

  • great song...lindas sound is awesomely good

  • 02:00 to 02:30 Cute girl, soulful eyes when she was young. Now compared to 65 year old overweight Linda...sad.

  • @vxenon67 Let see what you look like when you turn 65-70. I bet it wont be pretty.

  • @saganhill Neither will you or me !!

BUT at least she made it !! How about you????????

  • @Oscarallknowing I have no idea what you're refering to. Neither will you or me WHAT?

  • @vxenon67 Cute has nothing to do with it. She can sing circles around any of the so called singers today. She envokes feelings with her music, overweight or underweight. I suppose you don't like Aretha either because she is over the weight you would like her to be. Shallow Hal?

  • Zevon did it better...

  • Dont like her politics either but she sure as hell can sing !

  • Awesome song!!

  • She sure was hot in her younger years.

  • She worked quite a bit with music/producer Andrew Gold around this time... really helped to shape her sound.

  • Great version of Zevon's classic. Linda has a great voice to this day. And this fantastic. In her prime.

  • cool songs

  • I've always loved this track. Pure rock. What a spunky sound!

  • beaitiful

  • I don't care much for her politics, but she can belt a tune.

  • Sad for your parents, that genetics thing.

  • @clintonearlwalker I agree, her politics suck...she's never grown up...Still a hippy....However when it comes to music she is one of the most mature musicians ever...I've known her music since the beginning...and well I've been a fan from day one...I still love her....and always will.

  • @clintonearlwalker -- if you spend your life worrying about artist's politics you will miss a lot ... and it's sad, that seems to be all we can think about anymore ... it's poisoned everything, family gatherings, etc. ... I can pull up a Youtube video on "How to Bake Cookies" and sure enough, five comments down, someone is barking about politics ...
