Why do I say this? Well, you clearly have shit-brained philosophies about the instrument. I don't see anything wrong with his technique. This is a rock song, therefore more volume is needed. Due to this, a heavier playing style is necessary. Second, saying a piece of equipment is for "pussies" show a lack of respect and education. Drum gloves have a purpose.
