Das wir mit Absicht! Bin selber auch Gleitschirm-Pilot und einmal im Jahr üben wir über dem See solche Manöver und werfen den Notschirm.

@0815tobey Wenn das die Keara von Apco war, kein Wunder. Bin selber das Teil ein paar Jahre geflogen, war ein lustiges Tuch...

Das das Boot am Ende ueber den Schirm faehrt fand ich echt gut. :)

Started with an intentional shrimp stall (pull & hold center A's), very benign, I've done these. This surged into a mess when he released though. The glider seems a bit prone to cravattes. The boat driver was an idiot.

Das war Absicht, bin selber gleitschirmflieger. So wird ein Notfall geübt. Ausschlieslich immer über Wasser, da warten dann auch gleich Boote.

Wobei ich der Meinung bin, dass man einen Fullstall nicht im Sicherheitstraining üben muss, der kommt real eigentlich nicht vor. Dafür aber Verhänger, überschießen, stabile Spirale, Rettung werfen, also alles was danach kam.

Hmmm. He could have recovered but there was far too much pilot input - the problem just got worse due to panic. If you lay off the brakes the PG should normally return to normal stable flight. Unless you pick up a serious cravat or get gift wrapped you can safely recover from the most radical of attitudes. Clearly the pilot was being instructed at an SIV course and was probably low airtime.
