Shara moves slowly, I think She admits but look at her attacks and she is a smart player. She is really an amazing 3-time Grandslam Champ. Wow! What a match between Maria & Justine! I miss Henin, truly one of the best we've ever had. And thanks to Maria for keeping her fortitude & her tennis aspirations alive inspite of adversaries. These are the players that should inspire other younger ones aspiring to be great. Of course, the Williams sisters lead the pack. Let's also give credit to the older ones like Schiavone. So happy that she finally won a grand slam title.

This was Maria before her shoulder injury. People just didn't realized the magnitude of it. If the injury did not happen, she could easily have won more Grand Slam titles. When she returned after d surgery, it was a chaotic one, serve was horrible, everything was affected. Yet people kept criticizing her & her game. Presently, she is ranked 5th overall. Isn't that an achievement? Of course, she is not as great as Serena but that's OK. Maria is still one of the best in this generation!

sharapova will never play like this again if she doesnt find that serve if her serve falls into place everything else follows, its a shame that in the absence of the williams sisters she shud be dominating but she hasnt and the injury cant be an excuse now she came back in mid 2009 its been over 2 years. she just doesnt have confidence in the serve and thats her downfall

This is the Sharapova that made me fall in love with tennis. Her plan was to hit the ball and hit it hard. Belt it until it was out of her opponent's reach for winner after winner. I truly hope she can reignite the viscosity of her game for old time's sake and bag a few more slams.

@petunia0809 IF AND ONLY IF she passes Venus in 4th round (who tends to play very inconsistently) and eventually Henin in SF(might be THE ultimate clash) Clijsters has the best chance of winning AO with her current form. She is a dangerous floater, but not really the one to beat like Henin/Clijsters/Venus who are supposed to be topfavorites

I think things are really looking up for Sharapova now. Fair enough, she didn't finish the year off brilliantly but she found form in the middle. She is also engaged so she will be very happy with her personal life. This will be great motivation for her and i can see her returning to the top 5 in 2011.

She needs to get more loose on the serve. She wants to win a major again and still protect the shoulder it wont work. She may have to injure the shoulder again to get that serve loose. I have had shoulder problems and i tried different motions but it didnt work. and i have the long motion like she does, and now i am back

@bewithyou36 I wouldn't be too concerned about her play this fall. From what I understand she's been sick and hasn't trained much since the Open. 2010 was certainly disappointing but I remain optimistic for '11.

@kcgraf2 True, but I think the serve is no longer a physical issue but has become a mental one. She has tournaments that she's serving great and she'll get far, but that 4th round against Caro was :O She also didn't seem as pumped up as she was, no come on's or fistpumping. As for Ana, this is the first time in maybe 3 years she has strung a lot of good results together. Also she seems mentally a lot more keen, and the lack of fistpumps are a sign of newfound confidence. I truly think she's back

@kcgraf2 Seriously. I was in love with this Maria, and I know it's selfish to say since she's gone through shoulder surgery, but she's just so frustrating to watch these days. Her serve is terrible and her groundstrokes are either on or off so she's never really consistent. Ever since her return, she hasn't performed anywhere near this level. I still love her to death though and hope and pray she'll regain her form again =/
