the question should not be "is it right or wrong", but "would same-sex marriages damage society in any way?" And the answer is NO. With a divorce-rate as high as in the US I would argue that conventional M-F marriages are not the holy grail either. @trekkicat Oh I'd not heard of that ever happening. I don't think religious establishments should be forced to carry out same sex marriage cerimonies at all, though I know some would gladly do it. What I don't see is the validity of their argument to ban all same sex marriages, in particular civil marriages. I don't want kids, I don't particularly want to marry and the only reason I'd do it is to protect my assets from inheritance tax should I die. Not sure why we give religion so much power.
