I dont understand Edmunds' acceleration times. They're ALWAYS inconsistant with every other testing site around the world. They have the RS4 pulling upper 12s in the 1/4m while their Lexus IS-F is running low 13s? Everyone else has the RS4 in the 13s with the IS-F doing mid to upper 12s. Maybe they just dont ever break in their cars properly?
Anyway I still think the RS4 is the better car overall. Looks 1000X better too.
I think everybody who is comparing these cars are forgetting one major factor. The Audi is good all year long, whereas the REAR-wheel drive Lexus if you live in cold-weather climate with snow/rain/sleet, etc will be in your garage for a good 3 to 4 months. That is a big deal.
Personally, I live in NJ and winter here can last for months, that alone would be reason for me to drive the RS4...although I do find the Lexus very attractive. I didn't get the whale reference at all.

I don't think the IS-F can compete with the RS4. Lexus seems like more of a luxury sedan rather than sport, it's nice but if i was to choose the RS4 would definitely be my wheels.
The production of RS4 ended when production of IS-F started and still, it beats it. Lexus has a terrible suspension, it will break your spine on a road.
I've driven the all new B8 S4 on a track against Lexus IS-F and my best lap was by 1.83 second FASTER.
It's only a S4, but it's got a brilliantly smooth 3.0 V6 333 HP and new sport differentail that allows for higher cornering speed.
LMAO, Lexus can't even compete with the current S4, the next RS4 and RS5 will completely annihilate the iS-F.
I personally love the IS-F. Compared to the M3 and RS4, it's definitely third in competition but I'd buy one just to have something different for a change. I'd need a manual though...

Call me a fan boy, but considering the amount I would pay for either cars, how unreliable Audis are and how the hold no value whatsoever, I think i will go with the Lexus. Lexus is just too fkn smooth.

And it's faster too. The TT is $35,000 and the SC430 is $65,000? Why the hell is that? The A4 is $28,000 and the IS250 is $32,000. Why the hell is that? The Lexus is not a bad car, but the RS4 definitely the better car in this competition, and I'm not being biased towards the Audi. That's a true fact.

Well in the US the 09 A4 is $30,000 flat and the IS250 is $31,000. That's not a huge difference, but what about when you have a $35,000 TT versus a $65,000 SC430?

I don't think the IS-F can compete with the RS4. Lexus seems like more of a luxury sedan rather than sport, it's nice but if i was to choose the RS4 would definitely be my wheels.

The production of RS4 ended when production of IS-F started and still, it beats it. Lexus has a terrible suspension, it will break your spine on a road.
I've driven the all new B8 S4 on a track against Lexus IS-F and my best lap was by 1.83 second FASTER.
It's only a S4, but it's got a brilliantly smooth 3.0 V6 333 HP and new sport differentail that allows for higher cornering speed.
LMAO, Lexus can't even compete with the current S4, the next RS4 and RS5 will completely annihilate the iS-F.

I personally love the IS-F. Compared to the M3 and RS4, it's definitely third in competition but I'd buy one just to have something different for a change. I'd need a manual though...

The IS-Fail has been a big flop and Toyota is planning on discontinuing soon since the sales are completely sh*t with a few IS-F collecting dust at the dealerships. All the sales of the M3 and remaining of C63 simply killed the IS-F.

The Lexus is more luxurious. But that's it. The RS4 is faster, more fun to drive, more reliable, and less show-offy. The IS-F actually gets to 60 in 4.5 seconds (instead of 4.8 as they claimed), but the IS-F is quite a bit pricier. Obviously, the RS4 is the better car. And in most situations (if not, all), I think Audis are some of the best priced luxury cars around. Who charges just $70,000 for a super luxury sedan (while the Mercedes S550 is $90,000)? Interesting. GO AUDI! RS4- 94%, IS-F - 82%

i think u need to own both cars before you say all the stupid things u just said lexus is faaar more reliable i have had many audis the v10 S8 has issues and the structure bends out of shape making the panels look out od alignment. my RS-4 had problems too the engine would have spurts of power then sometimes feel like a dog even with S on and esp off completely, then when it has 13,000 miles the big fancy front brakes everyone praises failed and we crashed my ls460 had no problems not 1

I was a little biased toward Audi in my comment, but it truely is more fun to drive. I've been in both, and when coming home from work, I would probably want an RS4 rather than an IS-F. And it's faster too. The TT is $35,000 and the SC430 is $65,000? Why the hell is that? The A4 is $28,000 and the IS250 is $32,000. Why the hell is that? The Lexus is not a bad car, but the RS4 definitely the better car in this competition, and I'm not being biased towards the Audi. That's a true fact.

I had the same experience with my 06 M3. Poor reliability. It handled great but it had too many problems. My current IS350 has been flawless.

pricier... well it depends in which country. In Canada the is-f is 64400$ and the RS4 96000$!!! The M3, equipped like the is-f is 83000$. Here, if you want to spend around 65k on a car you get a S4, 335i well equipped or the is-f.

Well in the US the 09 A4 is $30,000 flat and the IS250 is $31,000. That's not a huge difference, but what about when you have a $35,000 TT versus a $65,000 SC430?

Hey ive raced my friends modded lexus is350 with a stock 335. From a 40mph roll in second gear I pulled on him everytime.
By putting a visnu proceed in the 335 along with a exhaust you could beat the isf.
The new bmw m3 really whips the isf in the turns. The lexus isf has an annoying beeping sound. And all this weird stuff.
You dont even need 8 gears.
The m3's handling is so amazing. The cars have the same amount of power. But the m3 kills the lexus in handling. And in styling.
