I don't really know where people come off on saying this movie is "deep" or "philosophical"... *spoiler* A bunch of rich nuts subject victims to intense suffering to try and get the random victims to make some sort of contact with the afterlife. The movie then ends ambiguously and abruptly with no feeling of, well... anything but despair. The first half of the film was decent, but after that it quickly just loses its way.
It's actually a clever movie and not utterly in the horror mode - it references a long intellectual French tradition including Georges Battaile, De Sade, Lautremont and others and is actually quite philosophical. Also the girls are cute (with skin on).
When the shot gunned everyone dead and everyone was going flying, yeah okay we saw the shot gun but didn't expect the man to go flying...all my family just went WOAHH!!!
really a shot gun? some body tortures you for over a year and thats the best you could do? if I was in her situation I would have done something a little more slow not a quick almost painless death by buck shot. just sayin
