I kind of love (and by love I mean it nearly made me choke) how Erik talks like he's a player right after his face sends Christine into a fit of weeping and over-dramatic gesturing.
The only reason I like this is because their facial expressions are totally epic. My favorite part though had to be when she fainted and he caries for what looked like hours of stairs and passages. Other than that the way the phantom has mood swings and non needed dramatic hand gestures mad it funny too
Who's Robert? Buquet was the first to be killed, and he didn't even kill him. He hung himself in the torture chamber. And this is closer to the book??? I don't think so!
this is so freaking cheesy!!! but i got to see cartoon erik, scared me, but two seconds after omg huggles. hate the mask its creepy, NO GUY FAUX MASKS PLEASE!!
@OvaltineEucerin fuck off, V for Vendetta is a brilliant film/comic with absolutely nothing to do with Phantom of the Opera. Just because both the main characters happen to be deformed, yet intelligent and sensitive does not mean that the themes, plot and even characters are the same.
@WaxedLegs Oh good heavens, I was only expressing my personal opinion, there's no need for name-calling or insults. You said yourself in another comment that this film reminded you of V for Vendetta. Your response to my comment makes absolutely no sense.
@OvaltineEucerin The difference being that you called V for Vendetta a ripoff, a very silly thing to say. And you said it in such a convicted, annoyed tone as if it were fact. My response makes absolute sense, and my original point still stands.
6:00 I actually felt bad when she took off the V for Vendetta mask. He probably lived for years craving her presence, yet was aware of the hideous nature of his face and how much she would fear it. Then he finally has her in his lair, and BOOM. It all goes to shit.
@ktabella13 Also...isn't Erik supposed to have black hair instead of grey? And also Erik isn't supposed to have nostrils because he has no nose, he does have two circles for a nose but I think they overlap each other....I think the reason why they made his hair grey is because if he had black hair he would look younger.
@71crm Of course, but I have to recognize of all the versions of the phantom this is the more loyal to the original version from leroux, actually this is one of my favourite versions of the story :)
"I am looking at your great genius!" Boy, is Christine a rotten liar. I'm pretty sure Erik knew that in the back of his head, he's not stupid. And Raoul must have been like wth when Christine was like "Sssh! He will hear you!"
I'm just saying, if I were Christine, I wouldn't have tried to escape. Then again, I was obsessed with POTO before I even saw any versions of it (I'm a synopsis reader) and I guess since I know the story so well, I'd just stick around and make it end the way it should have.
@Donteatacowman Erik smelled like death, so Christine probably fainted because they were so stinky. And yeah...that's really how it is in the book. Erik and Raoul just spend the entire book crying over Christine. They're just whiny, bickering little boys. Poor guys, lol. I love them both.
6:00 It seems Christine isn't the only one who goes overboard with the eyeliner. Kinda reminds me of the phantom from 1990 movie, he always blackened the area around his eyes, even though his mask was flesh colored. It was kinda weird, really.
I think that it´s pretty cool that they made a cartoon, of Phantom of the opera, but the drawings, and the moves is not so good... It is not as gracefull as disney

Hooray! Christine doesn't like Raoul at all at this point! Yay!! *claps hands excitedly* And I recognized several lines from this cartoon as being directly from the Leroux novel too, Chunks. That is amazing. Hooray hooray hooray!!
This was, without a doubt, the most faithful adaptation of the book that's out there. Many of these lines were clipped word for word straight out of the text. BRILLIANT.
How can you not love Christine's fixation with eye-liner and Erik's V for Vendetta mask? Also... 7:40? EPIC WIN
