I didn't use milk in this recipe!! Oh, do you mean using whey? Yes, you can use SALT!! You can even buy at the store a product called Body Ecology Cultured Vegetable starter, it will be found at a health food store, that might help too. Good luck!

Actually, I am making me up some sauerkraut with herbed cream cheese, but only cause I just ate some really high fructose corn syrup saturated ice cream, you know the kind they only sell in the big plastic I own a daycare, ice cream cartons? Ya, the urge was brought on by the fact that I needed entertainment while watching the biggest let down of a movie, and so the ice cream, was something of a substitute, unfortunately for me. Urghh, yucky.
