  • yea he killed the animal in 08 and was sentensed in 2011 to $2000 fine and 2 years probation and cant hunt while on probation. WHAT A JOKE.

  • the dude got a fine and suspended for one year of hunting.

  • Disgusting.

  • if we left them alone they would over populate your stinky cities

  • @bmaci812, no they would not ove populate. the problem is that people are taking their nature and terretorys. that's why we start to see them more.

  • dnr idiots...captive ...they are wild...we didnt have armadillos here years ago now we do...hogs were not abundant...now they are....soon we'll have bears and gators

  • As I thought, not a naturally occuring Mountain Lion. But instead of killing it, David should hae reported it and allow the owner or game officials to capture it. When I was young, I would have said shoot it. but the older I become the more I am aware of life and how precious it is. We humans are the stewarts of God's earth and we need to think about that and teach our children. I do not know David but I would guess that he has regretted shooting the animal at some time since then.

  • They are here. Have been for years. They aren't acknowledged by the DNR for whatever reason, but there is no question that they are as far north and west as Monroe County. Can't speak for West Georgia or North, but can speak to where I live, and where I have seen them.

And yes, if one were hanging out near my house, I'd kill it. Laws be damned. Not going to let my family be threatened by a lion just because some moron in a concrete jungle thinks I should.

  • @USSBN734 saw a black one here in northeast ga last month... my wife saw it too...i dont know what its called, and i dont care, but my friends who raise beef cattle will tell you they dont want them around. they will kill the newborn calves...

  • I can't see how they say Alabama has them and Florida has them, but Ga is out of the question?

  • They won't acknowledge these until people start getting attacked

  • For all the Dumb Asses that can't see, the Cat is laying in the back of truck with an Ohio State Football logo not only on the back window but also on the trailer receiver. Before you start disgracing us by calling this Yankee Dude a Southern Red Neck, please either get your eyes checked or learn how to read. I have lived here around West Point Lake all of my live and I have never heard, none the less seen a Cougar. You Dumb F***s.

  • @jcamp0712 did it ever occur to you he might just be an ohio fan? doesnt mean he lives there. thats a long way to go just to go hunting.

  • thats y u dumb city boy are gonna starve and toys kid im screwin ur sister fag!!! stop stereo typing looser!! u wouldent say that if it came in ur back yard and killed or injured a family member no u literal bastards just bitch about ppl that live off the land i aint got nothin for the ppl that kill for enjoyment there fuckin loosers also and i hope they get eatin so shut ya mouth if you dont know what ur talkin about go sell crack or get a pedicure and stay out of the woods city sissy fucks!!

  • @skullslinger3 they were there before you!!!!!!

  • assholes

  • This is why you hardly see fox squrrels anymore stupid rednecks have to kill anything that they think is rare.

  • when are you back woods imbreed hillbilly morons going the leave these animals alone,if you dont have anything better to do go screw your sister

  • It would be nice to see one in the wild here in Georgia but i'm not going to lie if I saw one while hunting even with a gun I Probably crap in my pants just saying haha

  • so it was a kept 'pet' and been released to the wild! by the looks of it ! more you kill, more extinct they become!

  • your right luke im in pa,, farmers complained about seeing these things and the game commission said theres no such thing here, but told the farmers not to shoot them,,daaa im glad to know about the micro chips so when we shoot one we will haul its ass down the road 5 miles and throw it over the bank,,the coyotes were hauled here too we have proof of that.. but they lye and say they werent ,,they just dont want to be liable when someones little kid gets killed by one,, insurance companies suck

  • In Atlantic Pa the game wardens have implanted gps microchips in the mountain lions, a dairy farmer killed and buried a cougar that was mauling His livestock on His farm and was fined , the gamewardens knew the lion had not moved off the farm for at least 4 days and demanded the farmer take them to the cougar or they could find it within 1 foot of its location , mountain lions were introduced to Pa to cull out the deer because of the high amounts collision with deer and vehicles .

  • @lukeandbo80 guess he shoulda burned that bitch lol

  • There are at least 2 in Brunswick county near the SC border in NC along highway 211 and 17 along Lockwoods Folly river near Supply Elementary school, the local newspapers wont publish any stories because of Realtors paying for advertising. Seen the tracks near Boiling Spring Lakes along some deer trails, this is the Beast of Bolivia that was killing dogs on Monster Quest on a recent History channel documentary.

  • I know for sure that florida panthers are not just in the everglades. They are in north florida also. I have seen 2 Florida Panthers in Madison and Taylor County. Its not impossible for them to be in georgia.

  • there are a lot of them in Georgia. north Florida also.

  • gj kill those fucking cats if i saw onr wld imed kill it then prob cut its stomach open to see the insides

  • Im with ya y kill a cougar the guy was just being tough because he had a gun newsflash a 3 year old can pull a trigger! I can understand shooting an animal for food on a rare occasion but just doing it for thrill n sport is evil n rotten.

  • @77turtlewax why kill it? so people will believe. Without evidence, the DNR would have denied its existence once again. A picture isnt even enough evidence for them. They well find something in the picture to try to make you believe that it is something different like a bobcat. This guy had proof that they do roam Georgia's woods and the DNR is still trying to make them believe that is was a released pet. Im calling bullcrap. This was a wild animal...

  • .....Seriously... I love animals but if its me or the cat... The cat has got to die....

  • @NoLifeSketh, ofc. but Cougars rarly attack Humans specially not adults.

  • @kylieorhooziersr0ck Shut up you fag, what if the guy had a good reason to do what he did, like maybe the fucking Cougar was coming at him? you dont know what happened. I know damn well if that big ass pussy comes at me and I have a gun, its getting shot. Because im not going to die from an over grown cat...

  • @bradlyw420 Look "Fag", It was a game kill, there is no signs as what could of killed it,no infections no nothing. Fuck you. And fuck you hunters. Heartless Amercians, hope you get nuked. Disgusting fuck bags.

  • Not an endangered species. This is one of the most widespread, successful predators on earth.

  • nice one

  • Put a gun in the hand of a guy with a little dick and he will shoot anything.

  • ...n endangered animal because they were scared to be in the woods with it! (learning to use iPad forgive the multiple comments)

  • ...a statement from this Ohio transplant, he shot the cat from a tree stand because he was scared to walk out of the woods after he saw it! Dave needs to stay in the high fence game park where he can feel safe without shooting endangered species. I am an avid hunter, fisherman, and Spearfisherman, and hate it that someone would shoot a

  • Why did the Ohio transplant shoot the panther, was he scared to be in the woods with it? BTW, it was proven by genetic testing that this was a wild Florida Panther probably expanding it's range.

  • Tsk tsk. These creatures DO live in Georgia. My sister and cousin saw one that used to live near our community's creek while they were riding on a four wheeler. Then a friend of my husband's saw one under his boat before it took of running into the woods. My mother also used to tell me how she coiuld hear one in the woods at night.

  • Their not Native to the lake, so it had to be taken down.

Its funny how the world turns though.

If a kid had been attacked by the cougar, people would be saying shoot it.

I pray this never happens to happens to anyone.

  • They are really protected in georgia and should not have been shot and the guy should be put in jail or fined. After testing they found that the cougar's DNA was linked to the Florida species. I'm big on hunting but I"m not going to shoot something i'm not going to eat or shoot it just to put it on the wall.

  • Fuck u bitch save these animals

  • Good cat . Shoot another . Soon .

  • @jaredbarkerlandscape EAT ALL PEOPLE SAVE ALL COUGERS

  • @cdukes1129 Well cdukes, I hope the cougers eat your kids!!!

  • good kill screw all these tree huggers o-h

  • Thanks for shooting the thing...I go camping there a lot!

  • @Bustertb wow all for campers so if in the future my kids dont see these its all the hunters falt i hope that cougers rule the state GO COUGERS EAT ALL PEOPLE

  • THIS IS SO CRULE!!!! I just moved to LaGrange GA and go to lcms and are mascout is a cougar!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I LIVE IN WEST POINT!!! And what Kat said, Cougers are our school mascot.

  • @StariviaKat You can say that next time one is stocking you as you go on a jog.

  • he probably shoot Big Foot too the big Ahole

  • Comment removed

  • @marycullenbaby No they are not.People like you expect to see them running around during the day.

  • @marycullenbaby

    congrats you have won

    Dumbest Comment Of The Day

  • I and a friend saw a panther in Talbottom GA. Ours are not as large as the western cats. This appears to be a western cat. I agree with GNR. KYLETANGO

  • I have a student who was hunting near the spot that this cat was shot when he saw a cougar. I have little doubt that he saw the same cat. However unlike this hunter he only used his rifle scope to spy on the cat as it moved trought the forest.

  • should be a serious fine. deer season not cougar.

  • @decisionview , Please consider who killed the Cougar, Not someone from Troup County Georgia.

  • Thanks David for murdering this close -to -extinct creature...at least your name on Youtbe and Internet is mud. What a great "hunter" you are...you were "scared" right and you are military!?

  • LOL!!!!! close to extinct...???? There everwhere in idaho montana, cali, oregon, washington, utah.....list goes on and on. Anyone think he shot him casue he was being stocked/attacked ????? Cuz thats what they do. here is a free tip, for all of you. DONT GO INTO THE WOODS/MOUNTIANS WITH OUT A GUN.

  • The Florida Panther is a subspecies or race of Puma concolor. There are only around 80-100 cougars in this endangered population, that last native population of cougars east of the Great Plains. Yes they are endangered.

  • Well it was shot illegally too.

  • I don't know why GA DNR have denied the existence of these animals for so long. One ran in front of my car in Macon County on hwy 49 on my way home from work three years ago. I'm just glad I didn't hit him.

  • DNA results last week confirmed this was a wild Florida panther that was either established in Ga or expanding his range. Does not sound like the guy had anything to be scared of, I guess he did not want to get out of the stand and walk back to his truck with a lion in the area, and if this is the case the guy has no business in the woods. CTGolfer, FYI, there is no law protecting lions in Ga, although there should be.

  • It is amazing how much of a bad reputation these great animals have that is not deserved. In more then a hundred years, there have been only a handful of Cougar attacks on humans, and every single one was for a specific reason and not just that the Cougar did not like humans. Us humans are more of a danger to Cougars then Cougars are to us the way we keep shooting them left and right for no reason.

  • Who the hell is "shooting them left and right"? You stupid ass, the population is very controlled in any state with a huntable population. Try telling the truth and get some fact before you spew your crap.

  • just had to kill it -boo!!!!

  • There are cougars in more places than Florida......I don't know why fish and insist on ignoring the tons of people who hear and see them......I live in southeast Alabama and my parents tell stories about hearing them screaming in the 40's and 50's...

  • What was the outcome of the wildlife officials investigation on that kill? Did they find out where it was held? and was the shooter charged in any way over this?

    Thanks from Lagrange Ga.
