  • This is the first time I've seen this movie, fell over it by accident. I find it interesting how a French men views other French men. I feel for the main character, but he's not good either. He uses an elderly woman and doesn't even say thank you or anything.

  • First time watching a Chomet film...really excited to check out his other the following two works by him. Really interesting stuff.

  • yet another french slap in the face to the american tourist.

  • God I feel so damn sorry for the guy.

  • Lol. Wasn't expecting that. I thought he was actually going to eat the pigeons. Amazing story, though =)

  • the music sound like amelie X3

  • so damn scary

  • The gendarme reminds me of a vulture XD

  • @TheLaceratedSky me, too. :) he looks a lot like the bicyclist in Les Triplettes de Belleville.

  • For the record, in an international poll of who makes the best and worst tourists, Americans ranked in the top 3 while the French were considered the worst. American tourists are more likely to learn the local language, try out different delicacies, and tip generously while French people were the worst tippers and rarely went out of their way to accommodate local customs...This doesn't make me dislike Sylvain Chomet in the least (I LOVE his work), but it is worth mentioning...

  • I guess this means I have to burn my starred orange T-shirt now

  • 6:39

    WHUT DAH FUHHHHHH

  • thank you for posting this....I love it, never knew Sylvain Chomet had other animation he created.

  • this reminds me of something kafka would write

  • oh man that song in the begining kills me

anyone know where i can find it?

  • birds have to turn their head to the side to look straight ahead

  • I love the sound effects. It's very similar to "Triplets", how the characters didn't speak but rather just mumbled unintelligibly.

  • God i remember this, nightmare fuel.

  • Is the main character supposed to be a policeman or something?

  • Those types of Americans are the ones that don't travel to France.

  • @limbdarkening

no i have been on a tour boat around the river Seine, and there were 2 Americans and one said to the other "I can speak French", the other said "oh yeah. Go on".

the first girl just said "Ooo La la". Its not much, but its something i guess, though any frenchman would look scowerisly.

  • @rorrt Yeah, but a lot of British people act like that too. I'm an American that lives in Wales at the moment and you wouldn't believe some of the dumb shit I've heard. Some guy asked me where I live and I told him Boston. He then asked me if Seattle was near where I live....

  • @limbdarkening

i suppose, you get idiots in pretty much any country really.

But with that comment i dont mean to tar everyone with the same brush, i know more intelligant americans than idiotic americans.

why are you living in Wales? i know about 2 families that have moved to the US or Canada.

  • @rorrt I moved here a year ago and I am currently getting my Masters in Animation. Education is a lot cheaper in the UK.

  • @limbdarkening

Cool, it wont be cheaper for long, the new reforms for universities look pretty tasty.

    upto £30,000

What university specifically, is it cardiff, or swansea?

  • Xox My !!!! So scary, I won't ever see in the same way the pigmeons

  • and i thought le triplettes de bellevile had scary moments O.o

  • Bloody accurate :P

  • Scary.

  • I like how they portray Americans. :)

  • Why doesn't he just eat the pigeons?

  • Wow! Those pigeons are fantastically terrifying!

  • Dicotomia di una Parigi assurda,o assurda dicotomia di una Parigi !?

    Geniale.

  • look up 'resan till melonia' that one screwed me up as a child too. Not near this kind of mindfuck tho..

  • This terrified me as a child!
