I personally am a fan of Lana Del Rey, but I really don't like the way she stylizes her songs in her live performances. By that I mean like when she randomly says "Honey" or when she drops an octave randomly or when she goes "every little thing that I do". It sounds forced, clunky, and distracting.

After watching this right after watching her SNL performance, I still think she's a great singer. People do have bad performances in their career and you can only improve on those mistakes. If we, including those haters, see a tendency of "SNL" performances in the future, then we can make judgements. For now she's got a soft voice and is freak'n gorgeous even if those lips are fake. It's like Angelina Jolie but a singer without the third-world babies.

I missed the SNL episode and found the clip to watch her performance. I love it. Very soft, soothing, and mellow. I don't understand why people think it's the worse performance on SNL....nothing tops Ashley Simpson's lip singing performance.

I watched the SNL performance and I really can't see what the fuss is about. She was nervous that was apparent but she did fine. This is very, very good. It was meant to be a sad, simple song. I think that her American debut was a little wavery, her Dutch debut was almost close, but not quite, and this is probably her best live show so far. She just needs a little practice, and I think this is as good as it gets for her... which is quite awesome. _^^_
