@speedrouter9 in case you're still curious, here is what I understand about annamayya et al. Annamayya was actually a poet. All of his poems are in Telugu. Long they were composed, they were set to music and fully qualify as Carnatic krithis.
Occasionally, you may hear popular compositions like this sung in a totally different raga and tune. The Malladi Brothers, for example, often do things like that.
Anyway, Prince Rama Varma is exceptional in his bhava and rendition.
this is not purandhara dasa keerthana, this is annamacharya keerthana in telugu but all the words in sanskrit, since telugu is the correct refinement of holy sanskrit.even mutthuswamy and purandhara also rendered most of their keerthanas in telugu becuase of its divine and holy touch.
heard this very song many many times because it has "nArAyaNa" in it. Lord "nArAyaNa" bless the singer(very sure, the singer do not care these comments or anything otherwise).

singer looks deeply immersed,he did his best for this song, beautiful voice
i am not sure whether in the first stanza the lyrics say 'bhava bhandha vimochana' instead of bhava bhandanate as it is sung here

I asked Varma ji and he says it is Bhava bhanjana te namo. (Destroyer of worldly problems/attachments, I salute you.)

Are you Sure?. This is not a Kannada song. Its in Samskrutham and also its widely known as Sri Annamacharya song. In any case excellent song.

Yes. I asked Prince Varma again and he in turn reconfirmed the fact with Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna
(Who tuned this in Behag) that it Is in fact an
Annamacharya song.

Balamurali Krishna gaaru is the absolute best at this song, and this gifted singer is the closest second I can imagine.
