Had to sell my baby when our 4th child was born. XW Gt. Did it with a smile too, knew it was the right thing to do. Whatya know,my wife took off with her boss anyway. Next time,I'll sell the wife to foreign traffickers, keep the car.
P.S,Eric Bana seems to be pretty untouched by Hollywood, still one of the boys, you'd never know. Great stuff. That said, you can be pretty sure money's not an issue with the rebuild.
I've been working on my personal beast for just over 4 years now. And understand the strange bond between a man and his childhood Dreamcar and the effort it takes to make it just as you visioned. Mine was a piece of S**t when I bought it, But slowly getting there
I hope Bana and his mates can rebuild it, I really do
I you are in doubt about seeling your car o restore it, then must see this movie. So you eventually will run to your garage and cry telling "i will never let you gooo" or something like that...
This was a highly impressive documentary and apart from the accident part i was smiling almost all the way through it and i didnt even know eric bana was a petrolhead, and what an ending with father and son in that old thunderbird just priceless.

Eric Bana and my personal hero Jeremy Clarkson, how could you allow yourselves to be in the same film with that Idiotic moronic and retarded Dr. Phill? This guy is an embarrassment and ruined this great film its such a shame!!!
I disagree! I think Doc Phil and Clarkson added much needed enlightenment and humor. I could relate to holding on to an epic car from your youth to maintain congruency in my life(Doc Phil ensight) .
thanks for the help everyone, but again, I know its not arcade fire: have both their cd's and I know its not Band of horses. If you've seen the actual film, the song i'm looking for is during one of the stages while he's driving next to a lake. The song starts when he starts the beginning of the stage, and the song ends when he finishes the stage.
For god sake, posting nightmare. The guy who made the trailer can be found on myspace, however he uses Arcade Fire whereas in the Youtube one it's different so now I am interested to find out what it is,
I think it's possibly something they arranged themselves for the film. In the credits it says where the music score was composed and who played what instruments (Bana on percussion), one of the instruments listed is 'Piano Accordian' which can definitely be heard in that piece of music you refer to at 47m 52s of the film.
Nope, thats not it. I knew that song before i saw the film. Thanks though. Tessilago-no worries, i shall share the wealth when i do find it, unless you are blessed and find it first. I've been searching for the better part of a month now trying to find that damn song. I also think its in this trailer, the second song after band of horses. ohwell
I'm looking like crazy as well, I have looked up the artists in the film and sat and listened through albums to try and find it. I promise you that I will let you know if I find it. I'm not giving up yet. :)
first off, great great film, secondly need some serious help. My gf wants a song from this movie and i cant find it anywhere. If you've seen the film, its the song when he's driving by the lake, it sounds like Bono's voice, but i dont think its U2. After the driving scene with the song, he gets emotional talking about that previous run. There is only a few lyrics, and its something like whoa oh oh ohhhh. Again, just an all around great documentary.
dat guy hoo ses da car is a heep 'o' shit needs therapy-i dont personally "love" fords or any cars for dat matter but even i cant say that that car is a heep of shit
I Love this movie. Being an ex northern suburbs boy(I lived in Broadmeadows, not 10 minutes away from Tullamarine where Eric lived) it really meant so much to me and I admit at the end of the documentary, I had a tear or 2 in my eye, as that car means so much to Eric and how it's been a big part of his life. At first looking at the damage, I though it was just the right hand front but there's a lot more damage than I realised. I'd love to see it back in one piece again for Eric's sake.
My copy just arrived yesterday. If you have the slightest interest in cars you'll love it. My Beast is a 1970 Mustang sportsroof undergoing restoration.
It's a pity that the other song on the original clip (Arcade Fire's No Cars Go, which was used from the countdown to just after the crash) was replaced in the newer version. The new clip is still fine ("The Funeral" is a great piece of music), but the two combined made the original clip brilliant.
You are an absolute champion. I had that arcade fire song on my mind for ages wanting to listen to it but couldn't remember where I'd heard it, then remembered it was here. If you hadn't posted that, I may no have found it. Thanks!!!!!!
My first car was (and still is) a 1971 Buick GS. From 1986 to 1996, I lived and worked to build that car into exactly what I wanted. I drove it daily during that time. Now it relaxes in my garage. It shatters the very air when I start it. When I drive, it rotates the Earth underneath it rather than moving across it. So beautiful.
awesome trailer a real guys passion in cars that maybe none car people can understand , i have a 1969 ford tld four door 429 4v ,its truly a beast in size and power. the green monster,, how come the kiwis get the hot rod versions of ford?????????????????
