Almost all of the games I enjoyed in my childhood were crashing almost every hour and there were few that needed patch or two, to be even able to finish them... but, I seeing how badly optimised and buggy, yet simplistic new COD is - I can't say I completely disagree.
@tntlink Try BF3, the goddamn esc button doesn't even work because they switched to console focus mid-development to meet the deadline from EA to "beat" MW3 for christmas market.

I can't take seriously developers saying "We are creating a game on PC first and then we port it to consoles" any more, if the representatives are Crysis 2 and BF3 :/

I remember I bought this game off a market somewhere between year 2000-2003. It was the only game that really got me hooked on to RTS+RTT game when I was around 9 year old.
SSF was (for me) the best game of all time. Dunno if anyone recalls me "Guderian". I was British champion 2 years running. (SSF then SS2). I wish there were enough players to get a decent 4v4 game still :-)

Epic intro, nice music and REAL strategy game. I remember when i once rushed with a shitload of stuarts (allied 4 mission) and got raped by ONE SINGLE nebelwerfer. Didnt try rushing again.
I've only played Sudden Strike up to British mission 9 and I think it's really hard gaming. I took 8 hours on "British First". Just resorted to using howitzers & snipers at the end. but I did rescue the King Tigers from the bombs. The good thing is you can pause time and give as many individual micro-commands as required, otherwise it would be virtually impossible
Hey, YEAH! Sudden Strike ROCKS! This is not one of pussy-ass RTS games like Panzers. In Sudden Strike soldiers die realy fast, and you have to THINK. Mass attack, like in Red Alert is suicide. That makes Sudden Strike more difficult. And that makes me love it.
The sudden strike series is the number one best RTS series in my game. I'm only missing resource war and III hehe. Problem is that because I don't have resource war, I can't play the Pacific mod lol. Oh well. Happy enough with RWM.

Btw. I was really pissed off when I realised that on my Sudden Strike Anthology disk there's no music! For me playing Sudden Strike without music is boring :(

Blitzkrieg has gone the same way as C&C. Better graphics, better units, better everything. EXCEPT it ruined the game.
